  1. Mine landed yesterday - a hell of a watch...and very close to the gen! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Biggest giveaways are the deep rehaut, the thick case and the "date" print...not to mention all the small issues...
  3. Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks gen to me. A MBW has a too high rehaut, this seems OK here. Markers are good and all visible. Here a gen with same crown I had here a few years ago:
  4. My favorite for today... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. No, looks like an NDT dial for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Good question...a gen dial would be the best of course, the MBW/MBK dials are IMO a very good alternative - but with a little additional work! The markers have to be relumed because they are shiny, also I am using a clear varnish to get a nice structure on the dial - with very good results (again here IMO). Of course the MBW dial can be spotted as fake by better inspection, but the yuki or ndt dials I can recnogize on 2 meters. And why should I waste so much money for a dial with good - let's say - not visible details, but wrong details which can be seen on a few meters. Don't know why they can't do it correct...
  7. Nice watch, well done! But the yuki dials are not my taste. Don't know why, but the stick markers are always too thick/long on their dials, and that's always a big giveaway...
  8. Just bought one for this beauty... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Today my GMT IIc... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Oh sure, the right direction would be the one to the post office - and in case you are there - just send the watch to me... I have to take a look in my parts-boxes, there should be one. But who knows which of them...:/
  11. ...and the 6 and 9 hour markers are thinner also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. It is possible! I have built a few watches with gen datewheels used as overlay. Of course, it is a lot of work with the grinding down, and everything has to be 100% to use all free spaces, but it is still possible. And it workes fine. The most positive on it - all numbers are 100% centred! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. No, not with the 21j movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. In the WTB section? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Not only you my friend! But where to source 100 pieces??? And would the price of the overlays + the treatment still be payable?
  16. Now after long time I decided to change the datewheel after long search for a correct one. There are silver datewheels around, but unfortunatelly without sunburst and they are too dark - so I have asked for solutions around and finally I find someone who can do it without washing/scraching up the number print. Please don't ask me how this is made, this is a prototype and there needs more to be tested to be perfect. The only problem is to source some, nobody has them anymore - and there are needed a minimum of 100 pcs. to get it started to do a first batch. Maybe someone can help here... This datewheel was a bit too dark, but after the treadment the silver gets more shiny - maybe because of the breaking light with the sunburst structure!? But let's see the result of the first one:
  17. That's a really good idea! I have a solarium but I never use it - so I have now a reason for my wife not to sell it...
  18. Use a storm lighter directly on the cyclops - not in the bezel direction - 'till the color changes darker (3-5 seconds) and push it off with some brass tool. Clean the crystal with a blade from the old glue and after that with glass cleaner. Buy some good UV glass glue, make a small drop on the crystal and press the cyclops once to push the glue out, now find the correct position and put it under a UV lamp for few seconds - that's it! If you have no UV lamp you can use also the daylight for a few minutes, it will also be OK.
  19. Some of the pics are not available anymore, but maybe it can help. The first post is HERE and second HERE. Good luck...
  20. You are right, my friend! It was your watch! And that's the result...
  21. Congrats, my friend! My girlies are 15 month now...a and a ...and I am only the It's a cyclops from caruwe. I bought the watch with this upgrade, but it was not perfect aligned and the glue I think was not the correct one, so I reattached it. You can also contact chieftang, maybe he can help you in any way. And don't be afraid to get the cyclops off - it is very easy - you even have not to dissamble the watch!
  22. Thanks guys. I am glad to see you like it... It's the actual version which are selling our trusted dealers, so the watch comes with this bezel inlay. The numbers are very sharp even if you look at them thru a mag...it's really a big improvement. On this model I think the inlay makes the watch...
