  1. Hy guys, I ot my new watchwinder a few day ago - so I want to share some pics... And here a other combination... Thanks for looking...
  2. After long time now my Hublot is finished! But I went for a other solution as Francisco did, because I am not sure into a glued rotor - so I made a special drill to countersink the rotor-hole to fit the bearing like it has to be. I used the measure from the countersink from the gen rotor, BTW. The only thing I did't knew before is that the material of the PVD part is made of brass! So the countersinking has a yellowish color, but it is hard to see because of the reflection. I polished the countersinking of course to high shine. Also I glued a faux time regulator, I think/hope the glue will hold it in place... And the thick "H" on the bridge is not bothering me. I will not replace it before they called it out as a giveaway for a fake on their site... Here some pics:
  3. Nice watch, I bouhgt it also but I am dissapointed in the crystal - it is not saphire. That's what my Diamond Selector shows...
  4. And if I may to add - on the deep sea it is fully functional!
  5. Hmm , I think the right looks better...
  6. Very nice watch, and the finish is amazing! I wish a Sub will come out in this quality range...
  7. I like toys like this... But I think there would never come a rep out.
  8. Nice watch, congrats! But do I have other pics than you guys? A few points I think has to be even for a newbie visible: - The CG's are looking not good to me, they are too long (seems OK because crown is too big!) and there are some bevels on inner side visible, it has to be reshaped!? - The teeth on the bezel are not deep enough, looks like the V1 bezel. - Endlinks too long, and there is some space to the lugs (for me unacceptable at this price, biggest giveaway on a Submariner!) - Is the rehaut really deep enough??? - date mag maybe 2,2, not 2,5
  9. A really nice thread here! Yeah, it is always hard after assambling a watch not to have someone personally who said "really nice, great job you did there". A lot of friends have seen me building a watch only from parts, some of them are laughing or kidding how funny it looks, but impressed of the result they are not really. For the most people I met, which had the first time a contact with a Rolex, are this waches as ugly as sin! They maybe said "common, make one for me now", but when I am telling them how much it costs..."are you crazy, for that money I can buy a gen Festina"... I've give up trying to explain them, that this reps we're wearing/building/buying are not china-vegetable-market or beach-seller watches, because the answer is always "it is still a rep"! On the other side there are also some interested, they always ask me if I have something new for sale - but the only interest is to buy and wear it, without to know something about it! Sometimes I ask myself why I am doing this, it's even not a real thing and it has in a way to stay secret - I was in some situations close to give everything up and to sell all the s*it, but on the other side I don't know what can impress me so much like watches do...and the whole time I spend here and on gen forums with learning, looking, searching...I can not blow it away...yes, it get's a part of my life and I will go on - for me, not for someone else!
  10. Very nice watch, congrats! But IMO it gets too expensive! On german wach fairs you can found a gen with papers for around 1500,-€...and you have maybe over the half price invested! If I would invest the half price in all my watches I have, my wife....no.....better not to think about what would happen...
  11. A friend told me the EL's are gen, and come without the circular ends. Daytonas use them also... You can even see that there are no marks on the lugs, if they were changed there would be some scraches:
  12. OK, but with my tool there are no damages on the tube and you can use it again! Some member won't invest for gen tube and crown, but for a correct CG job the tube has to be removed - so I have to use it again.
  13. I think he means this pic:
  14. I've started with Omega in the Replica scene, and the nick was at this time available. But thru the moddings on Rolex watches I fell in love with them... Also I love Panerai, Breitling, Hublot, IWC - but how long should be my nick in this case??? That's true, thanks my friend...
  15. You mean from Gen Forum...I think I know the pics... About the dial - I don't know. I am waiting for one from trusty...we will see.
  16. Errm...you mean 3mm X 0,35mm for sure... EDIT: You can use this for removing the tube without to damage it. I build one for me with a wood handpart only for removing watch-tubes...
  17. There are a few versions of them, for every tube size there is a tool, but they don't work on rep tubes... For removing you can use a small triangular file, for mounting also but you have to take care. For the 7mm crown tubes tool I've paid 45,-
  18. Very nice gen 16800 man, congrats! The EL's are also gen, but some expert grinded the circular ends...
  19. Very nice watch, wear it well! The pics are also awesome...
  20. Big mistake to use super glue, because the insert is made of aluminium and on high to low temperature the material "works", the super glue is too perish and you can loose the insert - you need a flexible and water resistand glue! I use for such things Pattex Extreme... BTW: You can also use 99% alcohol to get the super glue soft - it works fine, too.
  21. It is a gen deep sea, the gen crowns from a sub you can see on the link in my signature...
  22. Guys, it is ridiculous what we here talking about (I mean the weight)! Because if you remove some links the watch will be lighter. I weighted my Euromariner sub on work with a professional electronic balance, and it shows with all links (because the bracelet was not mounted yet - the holes were not drilled on the SEL's) 138,7g. I found my balance now and I put the watch a few minutes ago on it, it shows now without 2 links 133,1g, but it is a cheap balance so it can have some tolerance. Also I weight a link with screw: So who can weight a gen with all links to give us a exactly standard weight? Stephane where are you???
