  1. Hmm, can I use this for my silix Daytona?
  2. Tropic is hard to tell, on used are the edges from wearing rounded. But the inlay ist not gen I think, the hole for the pearl is too big.
  3. The watch was not worn some time. I took it off my winder a few days ago and notice that! Seems like I have to go to the AD. Thanks guys...
  4. I thought they use white gold as material for the hands. But it seems it's only chromed iron...unbelievable! Have to sell it and buy an quality watch where something like that can't happen - a Rolex!!!
  5. Thanks for your advices! Here the pic of the hand:
  6. Both are Asian ETA 7750, only the plates are different. But the gen has not ETA inside, I hope you know that!
  7. I have a gen 63 C, and yesterday I noticed the second hand has some corrosion on it. Can someone help me out with a spare part, or tell me where I can source it? How could that happen with the corrosion? The watch was never in water...
  8. Nice work! Let's test it...
  9. Like I said, if you want to have the function gen like. If not you can press it on the retainer, but you can not turn it anymore. If someone is pleased with only to pop it on - that's OK.
  10. WSO bezels are not compatible with cartel watches, not with MBW, and the best - even not with the retaining ring which WSO offers! I ordered the whole set, and I tried it having all versions here. Without a modification on a lathe (OK, some experts would do it with a dremel, I know - but I am talking about a perfect working solution) it is not possible to get them together, if you want the bezel to turn by pressing it down as it should! The WSO retaining ring is made of butter I think, 'cause you can bend it with your fingers. If I found it, I wil post a pic to show how it looks after a try to press it on a crystal. But the bezel is made really good, very nice finish. I compared it to a gen, and the only difference is the depth of the teeth. Also the MBW bezel won't work on a cartel retainer...if I remember it was too loose. Hope this helps.
  11. On second pic you can see the hour hand is curved! So the minute hand should be also, but it's not visible from that angle. Also if you make a direct straight up shot from top you can't see it, of course. Believe me - all (GEN) Rolex hands are curved. Except of the first Submariner models.
  12. I know exactly that problem! On beginning I also used the Tudor hands, but after the first gen comparsion I felt sick after with the wach on my wrist! Am I infected?
  13. Very fine looking watch, my friend! IMO that's the art of this hobby - to build accurate looking watches with a small budget!
  14. If you have 2 watches side by side in sunlight, one with flat hands and the other with curved - you will wonder how much difference it makes. The most even don't notice that little improvement all the years they are wearing the Rolex... I am not 100% sure, but I think this is from Rolex patended!
  15. Sorry, don't understand your post. But if I see someone is wearing a Rolex Sub with flat hands, I know it is a fake! Because flat Tudor hands don't fit on a Rolex movement.
  16. I think it is not really possible. Every small bent is on the high shine hand visible. The hands are done in a squeezing machine...but hey - everything is possible. Maybe it works! If you have a old hand set flying around just try it.
  17. They are also flat...big giveaway, even from 3 meters.
  18. I ordered on gen forum a gen NOS bezel, because my case was missing it (bought it like this). After getting the gen bezel I noticed it was used, and the retaining ring was bented! I sent it back and decided to use a WSO which I had laying around. BTW, it's made of very good quality, and the inlay snaps in like on gen! But to get it correctly working (rotating by pressing down) there is lathe work on the MBW retainer needed! That's the reason. Modern crown? You think the coronet is from newer batch, but the crown is the same as the long coronet ones. Both are 703. But I have a so called "vintage" crown here laying around, so I can mount it - but I don't care about that. Even the AD don't get it if you try to explain him the coronet sizes...
  19. Tudor hands are for Rolex wrong, they are totally flat! Rolex usees arched hands, just FYI... Flat hands have in direct sun a very high reflection, the arched only a minimum.
  20. BTW, what datewheel you used on the gen movement? Seems not to be a silver one...
  21. I can't tell you if there are right hands needed, but I can guarant you - to get good results you have to use the right tools! I use a modified file with a correct shaped angle. After the rough-work for finish and to get sharp corners sandpaper (1000). At last some polishing, but very light to keep the sharp edges.
  22. Very nice build. You should only be a little bit carfully with shaving the CG's from inside.
