  1. thanks alligoat...this was my practice run...i started off from the inside and did shave off too much...i'll try to shave off the crown to make it look like a 702. The only thing i will get for this is a crystal and crown. BTW will a TC crown fit the case and tube?
  2. Tried this on a 5513 josh case. To me it seems okay. But I've never held a vintage 5513. Maybe the experts can comment on this. Shaved off the CG's from the outside and did a little trimming on the inside. Shaved off too where the crown sits on the case. I filed off a bit from the bottom of the crown and beveled it with a dremel. \
  3. 44's are fine...with this you can have another watch too. just get a strap that matches her bags ans shoes.....
  4. Here's my 5513 with a stock crown CG's- modified with the base where the tube sits shaved off for a lower crown setting crown- shaved off frow below then bevelled havent finished this yet cuz I busted the movement ..sadly its just in my tool box.. Did i shave off too much??
  5. This looks promising..always loved the Ti look. Maybe after some TLC the CG's will look like this
  6. I was thinking of building a vintage sub but Josh's case have stubby CG's for the 5513. Saw some pics of the comex and the CG's seem better. If I get Josh's comex, are the parts compatible with his 5513's? Here are the two candidiates for transplant... http://www.1-pc8838.com/rlsv01103-vintage-5514-comex-submariner-asia-a2813-28800-p-7808.html http://www.1-pc8838.com/rlsv01106-vintage-5513-date-submariner-asia-2813-28800-best-p-9667.html Thinking of using the comex case and putting in a 5513 dial.
  7. Auto and Handwind is available last time i checked...bit pricey though.
  8. Looks Great! Cant remember the Strap Maker sorry...heres another one with a gunny
  9. Thanks spooky. Its an undersized 24mm originally for a pam. It was a tight fit for the 3717 but i have a nato on it now. Measurement is about 23 or 22mm
  10. Same thing on my 177 h factory. Crystal seems different than the 005k'swhich is still flawless after more use than the 177. Were you able to remove it?
  11. Yeah... its custom made. Base leather was from a caitlin 2 I think.
  12. You have to change the dial and CG, unless its fine with you its pointed downwards? Thinking of converting my 26 to a dlc'd 005
  13. Thanks...get one you wont be disappointed. Here's another shot from my iphone.
  14. Got a 177 from Josh and mounted it on this beautiful custom Gunny from Peter.
  15. the crowns seem fine though. i suspect it may be in the installation. ill get to the bottom of this and make a post here.
  16. have the same thing with h factory 177s. ordered 2, both done by the same cross eyed dude. where can one get a gasket for this?
  17. I handled a Gen 104 and the crown doesnt spring up...same problem with the reps?
  18. I got a couple of Pam 6497 handwind reps. 176, 177, 026, 005, and a 112. Only the 176, 026 and 005 have working crowns that spring up when the lever is released. All have been modded by me, the crown on these watches have been removed at one point in time. Removed the crowns, the springs on all of them seem to be working fine. Is there a right or wrong technique to install the crown? All are from HFactory.
  19. Yep. About 1 second on the street for me. Lever pin sticking out at the inner corner.
  20. Just got a 3717. the rehaut seems speckled or rough sandblasted(see pics) Shouldnt it be just brushed smooth?
  21. Hey PeteM, Been liking this watch...care to share what can be improved on it?
  22. Got it! will a high grade triangular jewelers file do the trick? or will i need others like a half round or a knife edge file?
  23. Awesome work! Care to share techniques on how to square off those inner corners?
  24. nice collection...is the CG on the 176L modded?
  25. Dont use sandpaper... you'll ruin the profile of the cg. best for me is scotch brite, the harder you press the deeper the brushed effect.
