  1. GREAT job Brother!! I know you're proud. Wear it proudly and in good health.,,,itsa Beauty!!!! As for cost.... I'd venture to say within 1.2k of a nice preowned gen is likely a good guess. But with a build like this I'm certain it wasn't an issue of cost....it's all about the self accomplishment and pride. Millions can say they own a gen 16610 but how many can honestly say "hey, I built this one myself" ??
  2. That's right. The retaining ring, flat tension washer and click spring is what gives the gen bezel assembly it's "precision". As already mentioned it's best to keep retaining and bezel rings paired from the beginning (when possible) Tweeking the flat tension washer will add some stiffness as will tweeking the tip of the click sping (unless it's a gen clicker) And of course changing/renewing the flat tension washer will likely give the added stiffness you're after...often that'll make it too tight until it sort of "arcs" to the slight wear already in the retainer and bezel ring. NOTE: the only variation in the thickness of gen flat tension washers for the 16800/16610 bezel assemblies that I'm aware of is age and wear
  3. Wow. That's gotta be the nicest looking 216570 I've seen yet. Congrats Brother. It's a beauty Thanks for sharing.
  4. I'd like to see some high quality early 3135 date wheel overlays with the open 6's and 9's produced. I think there's a high enough demand for them to make it worth the effort. It seems most of the ones currently available aren't aligned and centered....they tend to be high and left justified.
  5. GREAT looking dial Brother ! It's gonna be a beauty
  6. Very nice looking Doc...WOW!! Thanks goes out to everyone that participated in this thread. I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have. I just re-read through from the beginning...alot of great input from alot of great guys with alot of great information on a great Submariner...the 16800
  7. Doc....can you post this pic again ?? I'm not able to load it.
  8. The gasket that came with mine awhile back was 2.7mm...which is the same height as a gen gasket.
  9. Isn't a 1665 an early Sea Dweller ?? If so, a 16800 insert won't fit. The Submariner crystal is about 1mm larger
  10. Thanks for that info Gavidoc...that's good to know. While I love the patina'd look lume would be nice but "only" if it was very flat and uniform like gen lume. To me the bubbled markers on aftermarket/rep dials is about the only issue on many that are available and even then not terribly noticable. But once accustomed to the perfectly flat markers on a gen dial it seems nothing else will do. I couldn't ever bring myself to have anything on my dial changed but sooner or later I'll likely find a gen or yuki 16800 dial to have SL'd.
  11. Great start so far......and great job on the dial I'm curious why you're wanting to use a 3135 case. The deeper rehaut "is" very noticable and the y3135 will fit the 3035 case.
  12. "here it is on a Y3135 with Gen date wheel. Note, the 3035 datewheel....." = is what confused me
  13. Exactly. That's what had me puzzled. 3035 and 3135's Date Wheels are opposite. So if your DW isn't a gen 3035 DW, what is it ??
  14. They've cloned the 3135 mvt to have the date advance in the opposite direction ?? You're saying the y3135 date flips up when it changes...not down like a gen3135 and an eta mvt??
  15. A gen 3035 DW on a Y3135 ?? So the Y3135 has CCW date progression ??
  16. I have a WM9 v2 bezel assembly from BK with the retainer already filed to fit the gen insert. PM me if this will help your cause Brother
  17. A Clark bezel ring will not fit the WM9, TW, TC or ST retaining ring correctly
  18. If you're able too find a source, please do share. They're about the hardest brand of gen parts to find on the open market.
  19. Best bet...let TC remove the rehaut engraving and then maybe just sorta "rub off" the V and maybe half of the first serial number....
  20. You'll have a very difficult time with that Brother. I'd do a shit-load of practicing on dummy cases because I took it to the TC.
  21. He does. 300.00 for the case and 150.00 for the case back
  22. Put it up for sale and see what happens.
