1. I love the Detomaso! Not as crazy as the Cobra/Ghia, but more refined. @Befredrickson How about a nice 260 power plant and build it as a first gen AC Cobra. I would love to get a project like that. Keep the pipes underneath, spoke wheels with knockers(no pun), subtle curves and nice sticky tires. Maybe a tighter gear ratio to keep the motor singing. 4 48IDA Webers(although Dellortos would be more drivable) sucking up air, or heck, maybe even a mechanical fuel injection package on top of the motor just because.
2. Great looking watches guys. Woof that SSD is looking good

Submariner for me today.

3. I'm down for 1665, SSD and a pointed 4 Sapphire sub.
4. If I recall, the TC also feels "tighter" which could mean a heavier spring. TC could answer that. I got the same bars for both the 93160(v1) and 93250(v3) bracelets. E
5. I still love that torque steer coming out of a nice 4 cam aircooled porsche. E
6. Good comparison. The TC is definitely thicker at the shaft(no pun)
7. Having raced some nice light vehicles, I seldom used the breaks. That's just me. I use the engine rpm/engine break more and always try to keep the speed/line. Your friend definitely knew his stuff
8. The spring quality is what is important to me. Get salt water in there an try to take them off a few times and you'll see what I mean.
9. Thanks Rolo.
10. I believe the startime is a gen replacement. You're missing the TC bat in the comparison. I have both the gen and TC and they're dead on as well. E
11. @Hava, Looking good man. Is that a Yuki dial? How was the fit? E
12. ^^^ I think one day I will settle for a 289. The 427 is just too brutal, even for me. E
13. The king is dead. Long live the King lol
14. Someone should definitely make a crystal to order with matching gasket. I am sure we can have some type of group buy for this. I know I will be in for at least two. I want it to not scratch at all and AR on the inside. E
15. ^^^ you have to share more pictures Eric. I want to follow the Bolivar trail one of these days. Wearing my V2 of the 16610/16800 hybrid. Now with better folded 703 crown and adjusted crystal and a new TC V2 DWO.
16. Just because I love to shake the beehive, those tests are ridiculous when it comes to the Jeep testing(you forgot to post which model Jeep by the way) my 2011 4 door wrangler is lifted 3 inches(8cm for European folks) and runs on 35" inch tall tires(89cm for our European crowd) and regeared ring and pinion to 4.86. I can drive this car just as hard as any other on the street. Oh yeah, its a 6spd I cannot stan an automatic transmission, but then again, I did learn to drive in an old Willy's jeep. Very similar to the one that covered most of Europe when our American vehicles were called in to plow over some nasty Nazis(like I said, I like to shake the beehive)Weren't they a nuisance in Poland also? If I want to race a car and go fast, I won't pick the Wrangler. It's not a car to drive fast in. I'm happy to cruise all day at 70mph on it with the top down and some nasty Amarican rock blasting. However, the roads in Westcester county NY where I live are pretty bad to enjoy anything at speed really. Now, give me some mud and a trail any day and I'll show you how hard it is to really flip a Jeep. BTW, is that car you posted just a bad copy of an old Austin Healey design? Just saying. Also, the rims look like the cheap American Racing rims found in Fiats lol
17. OP mentioned having the watch water resistance's tested. I bet the crown wasn't fully in at the moment it Hit the water.
18. I even tried an old 8926 invicta crystal and the height wasn't there.
19. I do agree with you brother. The thing is that if the American consumer keeps buying crap and we keep bailing them out when the big names overproduce crap, why change? The formula seems to be working. Personally, I cannot stand what has happened to the Benz group and how bad the cars look and feel. The issue will always be, under which umbrella and for what market these groups are making/building cars for? This can get as serious as a religious topic. I think the building focus and the energy resources explored is laid on the wrong path. I personally LOVE the internal combustion engine. Why not spend the resources in better diesel oil burners? Corn yields oil, not just alcohol if treated properly. It's not like the farmers will have to change their production quotas drastically. I love how a diesel yields at least twice as much for the same amount of alcohol. Plus, all that torque! The problem is, that biodiesel can be made easier than alcohol to run the cars, thus, making it easier for the average Joe to keep their cars on the road with a renewable fuel source. If you ONLY have alcohol burning vehicles, it makes it a little harder for the average folk to produce the amount necessary to keep the car on the road. Plus, I am sure they would tax the hell out of people doing so. On the topic of EU cars, I don't even like the new Porsches and VWs that are coming out. I will remain a lover of classic, pre computer days. Even my current Jeep ha waaay more plastic than I like. But as you mentioned, it sure looks good for some people. Once I pay mine off, I will convert it to diesel and strip all of that plastic off. Long live the biodiesel mindset. I will always love the 904 Porsche design and the quintessential Porsche in my opinion, the 356. Topless of course. E
20. If only someone would produce a nice sapphire crystal that fits with a good gasket we could definitely have a superb watch
21. IRolexu, is that the one that had the insert as well? E
22. have both the BK and the TC DWOs and I was looking for a nice printed open 6 and 9 with 3 rounded. I found one that works but it's too thick. The other one is too thin and has a bad offset on the teen numbers. However, for the original poster, the BK or TC date wheel overlays will be ideal. These center well and are a breeze to glue on.
23. I was thinking of doing that. Thanks Sneed. You're right about the dates, but I figured for the money... I may just hold onto this if I cannot find anything for a later project. E
24. I was talking about the SSD. In this case specifically when doing the 666 conversion. Some of these movements are petty damn good but haven't been exploited.
25. He's still traveling to China. On a different note, the ST6d(hand sizes 85/135/20) movement that ofrei sells has the perfect open 6/9 and rounded 3 date wheel, however, the hand sizes are crazy. This movement is as tall as the gen and has great potential, but I just cannot find hands anywhere for this. E
