  1. My 2008 Rolex Sub rep was a bit fast, so I thought I'd try an adjustment. It's got an Asian 2813 automatic movement. I don't have any fancy equipment so I was syncing it against my 'atomic' clock (one of those La Crosse Technology quartz jobs that syncs up to the atomic clock radio broadcast). I was checking the drift of the seconds hand on my Sub about once an hour. What I've noticed is that while the second hand is loosing about 6 seconds per day (pretty damn good), the minute hand is also losing time - about 2 minutes per day - independent of the seconds hand. When I initially sync up the watch, I position the minute right on the dial marker and the second at 12:00. The minute seems to slowly drop behind so after a couple of hours, I can see that it no longer aligns with the dial marker as the second sweeps past 12:00. It gets progressively worse so that after 12 hours, the minute hand is lagging by about one minute from synced time. I've repeated this test three times just to confirm. So, it appears that the seconds and the minutes do not stay in lock-step with each other. Is this possible? How can this be happening? (I'm no watch smith so I don;t understand how this can be). Thanks!
  2. Thank you! Quickly becoming one of my favorite reps!
  3. This is becoming my number one watch (even with the 'tells' )
  4. I can't comment on the U1, but i got a Sinn U2 recently and it's a really nice rep - one of my favorites! Nice bonus is great AR right off the shelf.
  5. Good variety today guys. I think I'll strap on... THIS:
  6. You guys and your Porsches! For today, my TAG Link Chrono again:
  7. Love the drama of 'the Grand Opening' Lobster! Wish I'd thought of that when my Watcheden order arrived on Tuesday.
  8. I received an Ingeniuer Power Reserve from one of our trusted dealers the other day. I'm quite pleased with it! Here's a photo of my Rep (with rubber bracelet): ...and here's the gen from the IWC website for comparison:
  9. Agreed - By no means a Photoshop expert, but getting better at this. Took me a few cycles to figure out how to tackle the blown out bits without losing the overall vibe. Here's a revised shot (sorry for derailing the thread slightly, but great photography seems to be a priority here!) Before: After:
  10. Great Photo! Inspired me to try and imitate it with this shot of my TAG Link: Please forgive this most blatant ripoff of your style!
  11. Just can't seem to stop wearing this Seamaster (four days in a row!)
  12. I hate to say it, because I'm pretty new here myself, but you simply haven't done enough reading around yet. I will give you one pointer which should be obvious, but for some reason isn't to us newbies. The 'trusted dealers' have a section in the forum: http://www.rwgforum.com/forum/230-watches-clothing-accessories/ It contains dealer reviews but the membership and provides dealers with a venue to promote their goods. These are sellers who have provided consistently solid and reliable service to the forum membership.
  13. I wish! (But thanks - I'll take that as a compliment! )
  14. Thanks Bernie - Appreciate the feedback. I used a different gradient on each - trying to complement the lighting pattern on the watches.
  15. Saw a beautiful photo posted by RED and decided to spend some time fighting with Photoshop today in an effort to create some cool pictures using gradients and masks. Sort of achieved the intended goal. Still a ways to go but I'll share what I got: and this one...
  16. Yep. I'm in the GTA as well. Traffic sucks. Weather sucks. Cost of living sucks. T-dot is definitely a rat race. I share you pain bro. I look forward to the day we can afford to retire and get out of the city. Like RED, I was raised here but lived in California (in my case, for ten years in the South Bay area). I do miss the place. But the USA was very good to us and we came back with the means to live well in Toronto, even if we do have to work.
