Lately, I've been dreaming about something along the lines of this Bell & Ross Vintage style fantasy (a Photoshop special). Unfortunately, it's never going to happen.

Cool - 29776 is gone from their site now but the other two had a similar look to the one I ordered (I'd share the number but it's gone from the site too - apparently i ordered the last one they had). 29770 is an automatic and doesn't appear to have a working chrono function. 29765 is quartz, so it will have fully working chrono functionality. Another thing I like about the quartz over any of the mechanical movement incarnations of this model is that the date wheel is not sunken. Notice how the date sits up close to the window in 29765 versus it's more recessed in 29770? For $88 I can overlook the small second hand quartz tick rather than sweep. If I bond with it, I'll consider investing in a really nice rep.

Read my thread on regarding the strange operation of the chrono on my recent cheap Rolex Daytona purchase: Sound like your Navi? By coincidence, I ordered an inexpensive Breitling Navi from Watcheden just the other day. I wanted a reliable chrono function without spending a lot of dough so I went for a quartz. Which item number did you order?

LOL! Don't apologize - you set me straight. My own fault that I was ignorant of the various grades of movements when I pulled the trigger. None the less, I think i was kind of ripped off - it was a $199 watch 'on sale' for $139 - I expected better than an $88 dollar watch. The information provided on their site was very misleading and I received a misleading answer to a direct email question. But given the nature of the biz, it is most definitely a 'buyer beware' environment. Lesson learned (fortunately, not a too expensive one) and I won't make that mistake again. Cheers m8!

Phew! For a minute there, i thought i might have got ripped off! Is there a user guide to the movement type someone could point me at?

Since I started the thread, I feel it appropriate that I let everyone know how this transaction concluded. I will remind you that this was the first rep I've ever ordered and it was before I discovered this forum. I ordered an inexpensive Rolex Daytona Cosmograph rep on June 7, advertised to have a 'Japan made, top quality automatic movement'. It was $139 + $12 USD for EMS shipping. The company was very slow to ship it - 10 days before it was shipped. No QC pictures were sent (or requested). It then got hung up for 3 1/2 weeks in the shipping due to the Canada Post strike/lockout. It finally arrived today. On first glance, it looks fairly decent. The band is also quite nice and was in a very nice stitched box on a leatherette cushion. (pic attached). Upon closer inspection, there are a few disappointments though. There's either a small scratch or burr on the dial face at 6:00 o'clock. The case back says 'GLNEVA SWISS' (that is NOT a typo). The deployment buckle feels kind of cheap, although it does snap together very securely. No 'RolexRolexRolex' engraving on the rehaut. Now here's the really messed up part: I have no idea what kind of movement this has, but it doesn't seem to be a chronograph. The large second hand sweeps all the time like a normal automatic. The 'seconds at six' seems to move when the time is adjusted and otherwise moves at a very slow rate (looks like it might do one revolution a day??). The 3 o'clock dial seems to be a date setting and the 9 o'clock dial, not sure - maybe a month setting? The upper pusher advances the 3 o'clock dial by one click and the lower pusher, the 9:00 o'clock dial. They do not appear to provide any sort of chrono control. If anyone can enlighten me on this movement, I'd appreciate it! I had emailed the seller and specifically asked "do all the watch functions/dials work on this model?". The reply was,"Yes, all our models are fully functional". Of course, they weren't specific about exactly what functions they provide. Buyer beware! Here's the pic:

No more UPS for me!

Please pardon the newbie question but where does one get an ETA 7550 movement and how much does it cost? Are they preoperly cleaned and oiled and ready to be installed?

Love the Bentley. I think that may be my next purchase.

Found it. Thanks for the heads up!

Does anyone have any knowledge of if or when a rep of the Deville Ladymatic will be available? I want to get one for my lady.

Just googling around I found this: http://www.kingshowbox.com/goods-6098.html No idea if the OP was referring to this specific watch.

Hallelujah! Got four reps in transit hung up from this work stoppage (not to mention a few other items). It'll be interesting to see how long it takes the posties to get things sorted out and caught up.

Citi lets you create 'Virtual Account Numbers' (a disposable CC number) linked to your regular card where you can set $ amount and time limits and limit to a single vendor. These can be basically use once and throw away credit cards. Very useful for these sorts of transactions. -
Slightly off topic, but how does one go about regulating a watch that's out by 24 sec a day? (a brief explanation or a link would be most appreciated)

Thanks for the response MM..MM even if it was just to confirm it was a fantasy. Oh well, probably too much bling for this hombre anyway.

I like the color scheme on this rep. Does this particular combination exist or has it ever existed in as a genuine? As ridiculous as the notion of me actually owning a genuine RB, I still like the idea that if COULD be a gen.

Ditto. Don't understand the motivation for a lockout. At least the mail was moving (albeit slowly) with the rotating strikes. Too bad about my installment cheque to Revenue Canada though.
