I always had in mind that there's no way to use a rolex datwheel in an ETA because ETA rotates datewheel in opposite direction than rolex does. But after searching a bit in the internet I realize that it is different the date movement direction in a rolex 3035 (vintage) than in a 3135 (modern), so I question to myself as well as to yours if a generic 3135 datewheel from offrei could be used to fit an ETA 2824. I guess that it would be necessary some additional work. Find below some pics to illustrate my questioning.
Rolex 3135
ETA 2824
What do you think?
I had the opportunity of having this watch in my hands and wrist and it's a (like gio said) a [censored]ing AAA watch! Manuel, I don't hate you yet because I have now your franken 15000!!!
My 16013 franken project is going quite well regarding finding needed pieces. Up to day I have:
- Genuine Datejust 16013 case
- Genuine golden dial
- Genuine plastic crystal
- Genuine crown (I have two on the way so one could be sold )
- ETA 2824-2 from Tourbillon (on the way)
- Aftermarket rolex/tudor hands (on the way)
- Jubilee TT solid 14k gold bracelet (on the way from 007 a RWI - nice trade)
- Datewheel with champagne background and vintage font --> UBIIIIIII!!!! save my life, please
What's missing? spacer ring to make the ETA 2824 lay down in the 16013 firmly. Some on¡f you said it is not strictly necessary since you can use screwed folders from movement to case... but just i case it doesn't work, I prefer to have a spacer ring ready...
Thanks in advance for your support, again
Again I question my self about making my wife wearing a 14.000 $ bag to the gym... It is difficult justifiying a watch (which is near a jewel) over 7.000 $ imagine a bag costing double!!!
I can buy a high quality leather bag from a named brand (not LV sure) for far less than 250 USD. I don't understand why in bags, the 1:10 rule of rep watches vs. gen is not kept.
Ubi... the 16013 is a two tone datejust, so I guess the crown must be gold... isn't? Also the date overlay with a gold background also... BTW, any idea where to find date overlays with rolex font for ETA 2824? Thanks.
Well, I'm not an expert at all on building watches or touching movements, but after buying the datejust 15000 originally from repaustria, I decided to try to build a datejust two tone, and I've just got (won) at ebay a genuine 16013 case with dial and plastic crystal.
Update on Dec 7th: pics of the case, crystal and dial.
This watch is so small, that it is very difficult to spot the flaws, so it doesn't worth the money spending in replacing bezel and crown. Check EL's and then tell me
Check the solid gold TT DJ ladies from EL (Eddie Lee). I bought one for my wife and pretty close to ge, including perfect date font, mag and alignment.
Last week I was discussing waterproof topics with a watch master, and he indicated me something very interesting and that I've never took in account before: A watch indicating 50 Mt. waterproof do no mean that can b used up to 50 mtr. I means the pressure it can support, but the simple pressure that the watch receives when you jump into the water can make a 50 mtr. pressure (depending how strong you impact). From now on, I'll step into the pool by the stairs
Currently looking for these two auctios... what do you experts think about? I love the "old-fashion" style but wandring if they're gens...

Is there any diference between a 2836 and a 2836-2?
