  1. Beautiful watch! I've been toying with a mineral glass version of that model to save a few bucks; do you suppose there would there be a visual difference? Wear yours well! Arty
  2. Another warm welcome from Central Florida! I too was bitten by the bug a while back... Cheers! Arty
  3. Great question, do you think we're in the 10,000+ range? Now I want to see photos of Josh and Andrew's (or other dealers) houses- wonder if they look like this... Ciao, Arty
  4. Well, this thread is starting to tank so I'll take the liberty- Photo courtesy of Allergydoc; IMO you'll not find a watch that is more fun to wear than this!
  5. "...my other half was going to make sure that I didn't live twice" Good one! Nice watch- Arty
  6. If Allergydoc is around, maybe he'll show you his yellow strap Paul Picot (?)- I love the photo, whaddya say Doc?
  7. I enjoy my cheapie from Lawrence... ...and I'm especially fond of my vintage model... Good luck, Arty
  8. Walked out the door wearing this little Pipsqueak for the day- Three years old and still functioning flawlessly... Cheers, Arty
  9. If they made that model in an automatic, it would find its way off the desk and onto my wrist- but no one seems to have it...
  10. Cool strap, and cool photo Harley- you wear that well! Arty
  11. I was ready for a little mid-week bling...
  12. It's a respected long-time member patting the head of a noob for a good decision / choice (?). I like it!
  13. Some of you probably do, but for those who don't- here's a link to sign up for a free subscription to a hard copy full of our favorite Gen brands: http://www.grayandsons.com/catalog_request Perfect for reading material when you are 'indisposed', and general price reference for future rep or gen purchases. And, not all of the watches seen in the catalog show up on the website. Cheers, Arty
  14. I bought her that one too! Here it is on my wrist- hey, it's a man's size, isn't it? Cheers, Arty
  15. She refused a camera shoot when I asked her- 'my nails aren't done' was the response. I even considered strapping the sucker onto my own wrist, but I didnt't want you guys to get the wrong idea
  16. We were married in Vegas a few years back, and have returned many times since, mostly to play slots and roulette. When I saw this FM on Andrew's site a whle back, I knew she would love one as a gift, and I was right! It has a working roulette wheel, just for fun... I saved quite a bit by not opting for a Gen, wouldn't you say? http://www.thefinestwatches.com/index.cfm/.../productId/9230 I also notice that GP made one, yes one slot machine watch- I really hope a rep of this comes up sometime soon... http://www.slipperybrick.com/2008/02/slot-machine-watch/ Thanks for looking! Arty
  17. This one for the WHOLE weekend (famous last words)... Cheers! Arty
  18. Welcome! What's your pleasure? Rolex? Omega? Panerai? I was in your shoes about three years ago, but am still considered a 'Noob' by many of the old-timers around these parts. Have fun, and we hope and pray you have a good digital camera... Ciao, Arty
  19. This one has not left my wrist since it arrived just after X-mas... Happy weekend! Artamus
  20. Andrew should be able to source these, but you may have to find the exact watch on his website and give him the model number. But, how will you know if the parts will fit your version? Hopefully someone will chime in here... Arty
  21. I had a smilar experience, but keep in mind I'm in th U.S.- My new Asian 7750 Navitimer conked out after one week. I followed his instructions and kept in contact with him. He had the watch in 9 business days, fixed it (pretty much), and it took 11 business days to arrive back in my hands. Total time for transit and repair was about 3 1/2 weeks. My guess is you will have it in this upcoming week. Good luck, Arty
  22. Well, Andrew's fantasy model has been discontinued for now, so I opted for this one- just arrived today... I am thrilled by it's ridiculously awesome size, and simplicity. I am still learning about this Gen model's history- Rolex pocket watch movement, Italian Navy standard issue, 1950 units manufactured, 1st limited production model from Panerai etc. Now I'll scout out a black strap for it, with proper markings... Happy New Year! Arty
  23. Well, that's just bizarre... I wonder if Freddy will chuckle about this, or be mad?
  24. Excellent shots! I (finally) just got the PAM bug that you guys have always talked about; we'll see what happens- got one coming as I type. My fave out of that group is your Marina Militare. What size is that? Love that strap too- seems to have markings on the exterior; very, very cool. Ciao, Arty
  25. Thanks for the responses guys. I was just looking for an entry level PAM, and have been intrigued by this model's size for quite some time. I have not studied thoroughly about which ones are fantasy models- has to do with the printing on the dial, for one, I presume. That doesn't really matter to me at this stage; I am just floored by it's size- looks like it could eat my 37-41mm rep collection specimens (all at once?) for lunch! Borrowed gen shots of size comparison that persuaded me to pull the trigger: I'll probably go on a strap buying spree for this watch after I find out if I can pull off the size, if not you'll see it in the for sale section in January! Cheers, Arty
