Thats a beautiful picture Bob. That owl looks huge in perspective!

My wrist is small, about 6"? You can definitely carry it off with a 6.7" but I guess watch compatibility is a lot more than wrist size isn't it?
-
oh, A.. that was a good one.

Sending you a PM mate!
-
Get the watch already mate, I will get Donerix to make an XL strap for you alright?
-
Mate its 130/85.. Very good strap size for your first AP!
-
Thank you sir. And you, mate, are probably going to mod this and make the unmodded ones look really bad. Thats why I sometimes dislike you rather intensely.
-
Mate, I probably got smaller wrists than any of you here.. Small wrists and temerity go well together when trying on big calibre watches!
-
Thanks mates.. you guys should have more confidence to take the plunge now.

Lol I think I was one of the earliest who pre-ordered the FC 44mm.. but like I mentioned, I cancelled the order after noting certain dial flaws. And its those types of flaws that draw the eye once you see them. The Panda is not perfect either, none of the ROO reps are. But I could at least live with the flaws in this one. And you know you need one mate.

OK I just received this today. I bought this off Kingwatch. Connie of Kingwatch has been my regular dealer for the past 3 years, and she has never let me down. If you are the impatient sort, the short verdict is: yes, its very well-made, and you can buy it if its your kind of watch The watch feels like a solid, premium quality watch and the dial looks very detailed and accurate. The dial color is hard to capture, but it is not white, but rather a soft shimmery silver, which can vary in shine depending on lighting and angle. The black subdials and red subdial hands contrast nicely with the main dial, giving it its apposite nickname, the "Panda". The dial 5min markers, and the ring markers are done accurately. Slight variance in the tachy ring fonts to gen, but hey, who is going to notice those when its on the wrist? Another minor tell is, again, the date window position. In the gen, it is slightly to the left, and the 3 o'clock marker would extend just a wee bit more to the edge of the date window. In the rep, it is slightly to the right. Again, not a major tell for me too, but it is there. AR seems to be single AR, but good enough for me. The case is well finished. From the polished black ceramic bezel and chrono pushers, to the sandblasted pusher guards, to the crown and brushed steel casing. The craftsmanship is definitely finer than the previous generation ROO reps. Caseback: Ugly as a dead coyote strung on a signboard after 40 days. The A7750 movement, the blue screws and the see-through caseback just do not go together. A decorated movement plate would be nice. This is the main weak point of the rep the way I see it. Strap: Its comes on a rubber strap. Not bad in quality to be honest, but can be improved. Buckle finishing is reasonable. In conclusion, if the AP ROO is your thing, and you are deciding which version of the new 44mm ROOs to buy, you cannot miss this one. My forged carbon ROO order was cancelled after I noticed the dial flaws, and I ordered this one instead. The gold one could be next on the list, but this was a must-have for me. Thank you for looking!

Rolex Submariner 16610 Gen vs Rep - Pics attached

Gen on right? -
Hey mate, firstly, very nice watch! To me, this is more accurate than the models like the black themes and others due to the dial layout..notice the date window position is not touching the tachy ring like some models. I do own some gen ROOs too and yes I agree with jordanF1 above. There are variations within the same model (could be because of batch?) in the AR and slight variance in dial quality sometimes, and sometimes bezel screws! Forget about the so called black lume.. its very poor in the gen and can be seen well only under UV light. So unless you are a regular disco goer, screw the lume in this one! Nobody will be calling you out on the lume on this model at night. One thing though, the rep strap (and almost all other rep straps on the ROO) is something I would not use as a burial collar on a pesty dead rat. It is a thing of abomination, and the least you should do is to get an aftermarket strap, if you have not already done so. AR mod is a personal preference, and service a recommendation. Once again, a very nice watch you have gotten yourself, congrats!

Not sure what you mean, send a picture?

As you know, the case-endlinks screws are 4 individual pieces. The endlinks-strap screws are actually a bar and cap set, which to me is stupid. Makes strap changes a PITA and not always easy.
-
APBands may be bloodsuckers, but they do offer a strap change kit that actually works. But yes, two screwdrivers, one on each side, turned anticlockwise, works as well. You might need to try it a few times.

Yes that's what I've been talking about. Delays and issues exist and are acceptable. Just communicate them to the buyers! Sent from Mars using tapatalk

I agree completely with what Angus said. Yes. But the only thing which I've highlighted, is the lack of communication or reply regardless of whether it's a pre order or not. It's perfectly understandable for delays and hiccups to occur. Nobody should fault the dealer on that. But no communication or selective communication is not good in my opinion. I think most of us can accept being told that problem x or y or z is happening and we have to hang on longer for delivery. Perfectly ok. But not communicating about it is not cool. It keeps people guessing and guessworks vary from one individual to another. Not all of them would be positive trust me. I've said this before and I say it again: puretime offers great watches, yes. Angus has a hand in bringing to production what people want, yes again. But their communications needs a lot of improvement from my experience. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

New Addition to my AP box - RGRC ROO
Legend replied to panerai153's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Aha! See? You did not get the bumblebee too haha.. My 8 yr old boy wore a yellow casio on his wrist a while ago and when he lost it at school, I gave him a catalogue to pick his new watch from but crossed out the yellow ones with the caption "Nope you may not choose this". -
Thats ludicrous isn't it? I would ask you to contact your credit company, show them the cancellation email, show them the original amount you paid for, and get every cent back. why should PT benefit from holding your money for a long time without communication, and then getting $117 for nothing? Does it sound like something you, or any of us, should accept?
