  1. I am under the impression that there was a v5.1 before.. hmmm. Anyway, the bezel numbers do look very good, yes sir. Decorated rotor is a nice touch, but hey, its a closed caseback Overall, it is becoming quite hard to distinguish the rep diver from the gen, and yes I would buy this if I am looking for a very good diver rep. I am not sure if the "A2824 movement" refers to the A2824 seagull movement, but I think the seagull movement is underrated, and performs like a champion in terms of timekeeping and power reserve. Go for it I say!
  2. Its not a difficult fix.. the subdial is usually attached to the dial assembly, and honestly, a adhesive would fix it. I had the same issue with an ROO 2 years back, and my watchsmith just put a spot of adhesive (informing and asking me in advance of course) and it stopped spinning like John Cena's WWE belt The watch is still with me, with subdial firmly attached.
  3. I rather like it, but find it a bit out of proportion.. in terms of dial size vs bezel/case dimensions. It could take some getting used to, but I do like the crown lever assembly a lot.
  4. Don't worry, AP ROO reps are generally comfortable for most. This is probably an isolated case. Also, remember what passes for comfort can be pretty subjective for different owners.
  5. I love the straps on your diver, may I ask where you got them please? Looks awesome!
  6. "Too old", in our hobby-speak is when we are wrapped in a shroud and lying quietly 6 foot under. Otherwise, mate, I think you are still good.
  7. For guys who are donating, I will be making a list of everything I received at the end for the raffle and donations and I will be disclosing it to you guys for transparency. Member Hambone would like to thank you guys in person I'm sure!
  8. Mike, thank you for supporting the raffle, the first I am organizing. Your encouragement does wonders for me
  9. The experts have spoken. Try an 18mm tang buckle it may work too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Eric my friend, this community is a lot more about watches. Its about friendship, knowledge, and making life better for one another in various ways. I will do what I can, within my means, to help you and others in need.. Alone, we may accomplish little, but together, we can do a lot.
  11. Thank you kindly guys. I am still getting the watches sorted out.. but your responses have been heartwarming to say the least!
  12. also known as Puretime in the community.
  13. Lovely, I want one! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I think thats because Nanuq suspended him temporarily?
  15. Anyway just to let you guys know, Droptopman has very kindly offered to donate some of his watches for the raffle, this watch being one of them. A newcomer with a very big heart, kudos to him!
  16. the hands would still be moving in the same direction if so no?, since if this be the case, you are merely rotating the dial 180 degrees There would be a problem with date window alignment too if so
  17. It would be nice mate if you could contribute one of your amazing pieces for sale in this raffle. You are a strong individual who keeps going on and on in the face of adversity and tragedy. I salute you.
  18. yes mate What a man drives, wears, lives in, is often not a reliable indication of what he can really afford.
  19. I think its a case by case basis, but AJ just got his negative feedback cancelled.
  20. You are most kind. I was thinking of chainsaw and acid.
  21. +1 on this. What a man chooses to drive, where he chooses to live, and yes, what he chooses to wear on his wrists, would be a matter of decisions that are often not interlinked. Every man chooses to spend his money in different ways. I do know of the below guys in real life: a. Someone who owns a genuine Hublot Big Bang ceramic, but drives a toyota Camry b. Someone who drives a 2013 Porsche Carrera S, but wears a Seiko c. Someone who lives in an upmarket mansion, but wears no watch at all. d. An unemployed bankrupt who still owns and discreetly wears his genuine Rolex explorer 2. Yes, from a generic social perspective, a man stepping out of a Lamborghini with a a $30k watch strapped to his wrist makes the watch more believable than the gardener with a Patek Philippe. The world is generally a superficial place when it comes to perspectives. But often, the purchase decisions of an individual are mostly affected by individual choice and purchase power, lifestyles, and his intrinsic values about life, and may not conform to social perspectives at all.
  22. And in that manner, we should be able to prevent and/or rectify bad feedback left for others in an unjustified manner. For example, what's stopping anyone from leaving 10 bad feedbacks for someone else without rhyme or reason? Perhaps a mandatory link to the sales thread should be included, and members should be given a chance to appeal bad feedback. It would give more credit to the RWG feedback system. Just a thought.
  23. Because Mike, I think a lot of the folks who have watches with him want him remembered, and we do not want him popping up one day and scamming others. I agree with you that this is tragic. But we want the lesson remembered.
  24. Can this be made a sticky please, as the issue is still open? We're talking about an amount in excess of $25k.
