  1. Reputated dealer or not, PT communications can be improved, by a lot. They can start by actually attempting to communicate for a start before even discussing the quality of communications. Not cool, and I am going to cancel my order with them if I still do not hear from them within the next few days. It has been more than a month without communication. Can any of you guys accept that?
  2. Pareto, Mr J? I learned about the Pareto principle in business school, which is the 80:20 law. i.e. "20% of the people owns 80% of the wealth" You meant to say "plethora" perhaps? You're a good kid, J. I am glad to see you growing up in RWG.
  3. To my knowledge, for the Diver, there's the regular length version and the XS version. Both use the 24mm tang buckle. The rubber strap option is also given for a lot of 42mm ROO models. These are different though, as the end tapers down to 18mm. You can use either the factory deployant or an 18mm tang buckle with the strap.
  4. With the money PT got from our pre-orders? Maybe CNY will last 2 months.
  5. Hey mate I am happy to see you getting into the ROOs.. chunky and beautiful watches, and something we have in common! To be honest, when I first started delving into the sec@12 ROOs, I had the same concerns you voiced in the other thread you started in this section. My experience (do not construe this to be anything other than my personal POV please) is: a. I started purchasing them in 2011 or so, bought about 5-6 of them, and the first few batches all gave me movement issues upon arrival, every single one of them. I bought them off a non TD site, and I suspected that he gave me all the crap stock. b. I had them serviced after I found RWG. And yes, they work much better after that! Smooth, and reasonable PR (about 36hrs or so, but 30hrs is good for me as I cycle my watches) c. I kept most of the serviced watches from the early batches, and sold 2 of them. They function well up to today, 3 years later. Even the timekeeping ability is good. d. The later batches of ROOs (mid 2012 onwards) are sourced from the TDs here. I bought about 6-8 of these. They ALL arrived in good working condition, and none of them gave me movement issues. I usually would wear them for a week before sending them off for movement service. And they do keep time well, and exhibit reasonable power reserve, the best one went for about 42hrs. e. Regarding the rep ROO movement, it is my opinion that yes, they did improve it, but definitely not by adding an additional jewel. The sec@12 was a known problem among the TDs, and something was done to improve the situation, but not eliminating the problem entirely. I have kept an unserviced ROO sec@12 bought in Mar 2013, and it is working fine till now in terms of start up, smoothness of movement, accuracy, and power reserve(touch wood). f. Depending on the specific model, the mods, without going franken, are usually combinations of movement service (not a must in my experience but recommended), AR, lume, and strap change. The rep straps are rubbish and not something I even would use as collars for dead mice. . Some like to waterproof their watches but I seldom wear my watch for swimming or diving. Do note that some of the gen models have single AR, others have double AR. g. Tells of a rep ROO You need to know these, when you are spending relatively big money on a rep, as compared to buying other models of reps. i. Hands pinion on several 42mm models (larger on the rep) ii. Date window position and depth on the dial (slightly more to the right on the rep, touching the tachy ring in the lot of the rep models, Datewheel appears more "sunken" on gen) iii. Crown/pusher alignment (crown is offset on the gen, aligned with the pushers on the rep) iv. Lume (matters for some, and not for others) v. Dial details (this is a generic rep, and not specific to ROO reps. Most of the ROO rep dials are done reasonably well) vi. Strap quality (for hornback, less obvious for rubber).. When you order a rep ROO, an aftermarket or OEM strap is warranted in most cases vii. The deployant clasp (no holes on the gen, holes on the rep) A slight problem when you order the RG models, as I have not seen a no-holes deployant clasp made for Rg models.. Well enough ramblings for now, PM me if you need any help buddy!
  6. Its Orchard Road actually, and that is a very lovely watch. The 57th street is another named after a place/road/city I guess. There's also the Pride of Mexico, Pride of Siam etc.. and the list goes on. I think AP can be rather whimsical regarding the design and names of their watches, and yes, they all get snapped up nonetheless!
  7. Its Yay if you have the obligatory thick gold chains round your neck and wrists, dresses in baseball jerseys and caps to work, and wears sunglasses after dusk. Also, it would be a perfect fit if you start every other sentence with "Yo yo yo wassup dawg" while moving your hands like Eminem. Otherwise, there are more tasteful versions of bling out there.
  8. Erm, shouldn't this be seen on RWI instead of RWG? Nice watches btw!
  9. Love the strap and the no-holes deployant buckle. Wear her well!
  10. No worries about shipping to Singapore.. Josh from perfect clones is a good guy to deal with.
  11. Actually no sir, and its nothing to do with the flaws....the yellow to me is a great put off.
  12. My question is: why then did you sell your AP FC diver?
  13. you are beginning to sound like a Dutch, Martijn.
  14. If its a 44mm ROO and it was shipped before CNY, that TD would likely be Puretime. The guys there probably need a course on effective communication and also Geography, going by your post. I think being a TD, they would sort it out for you, but it would take time. I do not think that a return is warranted now, as the watches are in unknown condition. Wait till you receive them (if you do) and then ask for a return if they are not in brand new condition. That is unfortunate as it would take up more time but its fair I guess as far as matters in this hobby goes... I hope you get the watches delivered to you from Holland! Good luck buddy! A
  15. My favorite Rolex of all time.. this is very very lovely. And that rail dial.... man, let me know if you're ever insane enough to sell!! Congrats mate!
  16. Also an input here to make OP look a little less crazy
  17. Thank you kindly for the clarification. Its something I always wondered about.
  18. For the 30 millionth time mate, please do! Its something you would not regret for sure. ;D Ryan is a good guy..but let me know if you have any problems cancelling it.
  19. Definitely.. please cancel the V5, there is no point holding a ruby in hand while thinking about the diamond you could have bought in its place.
  20. Mike, good thing you had the word "stator" between "Bent" and "my a**".. Folks might get the wrong idea if otherwise.
