Legend replied to edgematic1's topic in The Audemars Piguet Area
Yes thank you very much for your informative and detailed write up. This should be stickied IMHO! -
I wonder if anyone would still back MD2020 up at this stage.. I admit I still gave him the benefit of doubt at the onset, but hey, a few months and $27k later, I think the picture is much clearer.

I agree with that. We just need to know what the dealer can do, and what he cannot. Like I said, defects should be addressed by the dealer accordingly. But design flaws are something they cannot do much about.
-
But you may not end up with the same product? Caveat emptor. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

+1 well said I recently rejected an AP Diver that had one of the bezel screws inserted the wrong way. I pointed it out to the dealer when I was shown the QC pics, and he fixed it for me. To the OP: In short, you can reject the watch if its not conforming to its rep specification, damaged or incomplete For example, missing screws, cracked crystal, scratched case, abnormalities of logos, etc. But the watch should not be rejected for inherent rep flaws and deviations from gen. The rule of thumb is when rejecting a specific shown watch is: Do you believe the next piece is going to be flawless in the area you rejected the watch for? If not, it is an inherent rep flaw. Wait for the next version. If you are unsure, check with the dealer politely. Else, move on to another model. Just understand that QC pics are sent for our benefit, to let us know that we are getting the correct watch, and that there are no glaring damages or defects. Remember that even for the gens, defects exist, and they are not always 100%!

Well at least you took the experience positively and am learning and moving forward in a winning way. Kudos to you! Next time, please order from one of the dealers listed here. They are not 100% problem free either, but they are a lot more responsible.

+1.. sometimes, the bigger dealers do not give as good or personalized service as the "smaller" dealers.

I'm afraid you are mistaken. I have confirmed with the TD here, Josh from www.p-cls.com. He has commented that this is a scam site and he only runs one website, which is www.p-cls.com. Whoever you have been speaking with, its not the Josh RWG knows. However, if you insist that its a TD you are dealing with, feel free to contact Josh himself.. his contact can be found on www.p-cls.com. After you are satisfied that you have gotten the wrong site, I will be here to help you sort the rest out.

Very nice D! Can I ask what has been done besides the OEM strap fitment?

Hi mate If you want an accurate caseback/movement, the only way is to buy the gen now, until a more accurate decoration is released for the rep. The rep uses a modified A7750 sec@12 as you know.. and to be honest, it looks crap to me. But unless you are going to wear your watch upside down, or wear your watch to an AP ROO gathering where each watch will be scrutinized by afficionados in great detail, this should not be a concern. Its 44mm for sure. Stop asking questions already.. its a very lovely watch on the wrist, take the plunge. )

FYI, www.perfect-clones.net is NOT a trusted dealer site. The trusted site run by the Josh I know is www.p-cls.com. So it would be better if you can change your title, to prevent maligning a trusted dealer. I have emailed Josh to come clarify this issue on your thread. As stated, this "Josh" with whom you have been speaking with writes in a different style from the Josh I know. So please, lets get your facts straightened out and problem resolved. PM me.
-
Hi You sure this is Josh from the Perfect Clones that is trusted here? I know his website is www.p-cls.com. I do not recognize the site stated in your email.. unless Josh has another site? The Josh I know does not write in the style depicted in the email as well. Can you please PM me on what happened? I can try to get it sorted out for you.

You need to stop checking the tracking status each day. Patience is not only a virtue, but a necessity in this hobby. The watch almost always turn up at your doorstep. You're new and you need to understand this process better. Don't get your knickers in a bunch over nothing. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

Not officially yet but you cannot go wrong with him. Sent from Mars using tapatalk

Just to add on, it is the duty of each and every single member here, to watch out for one another, to identify scammers and cheaters, to keep our community a safe and trustworthy place as much as possible. When a scammer is spotted (hint: you), he must be brought down at all costs, and the community must be alerted to his shenanigans and crooked ways. You must be smirking behind your computer screen each time some poor prospective victim sends you a PM expressing interest in your watch. You must be thinking "ah, an idiot to whom I can pass this junk on to). Stop right now. We are no fools, and if you think you have a foxy wile that would allow you to get away with highly questionable deals, think again. For your information, the negative feedback you left for your victims vindictively have been removed. That shows what kind of person you are. so Fahim the scammer, heads up. Pack up your junk watches, roll up your snake-oil mat, tuck it under your arm, and high-tail out of here. I cannot stop you from posting watches for sale, and I cannot stop anyone from wanting to buy your junk. But you can be sure I would try my darnest in every case, just to stop you exploiting the more gullible members here. And if they still choose to buy from you in the end from this point onwards, they must be a glutton for punishment, one of those that would be happy being put in a leather mask, tied up and scourged with a flail. I said it before and I will say it again. You are a scammer, one who is not very intelligent, nor creative. One filled with disdain for our community, and one that should be stopped immediately. I am watching you.
-
You are a sad case. I will do my best to ensure that the community does not buy or sell to you. You cannot go around trying to scam everyone and be recalcitrant about it. Everytime you post a sale, I will post a warning. The rep collectors online community is a fairly small one. My advice is to be honest when trading watches, not sell off something as new and 10/10 condition when you already know that it is damaged or not working. I know AJ, and I know some of the guys who spoke about you. They are good guys, proven not through my acquaintance with them, but through many trades with different people. Stop your scamming and profiteering. People are not as stupid as you seem to believe, trust me.

I know, and I was merely teasing... Another thing nice I noticed about your panda: From your photo angle, it appears that the date window position is same as gen. Is that where part of your lottery winnings went?
-
Shameless showoff! But yes, very very nice watches mate!

This has probably been asked a million times...

The definition of "Super Rep" varies among collectors. It all boils down to how close you think your own rep is to gen, and the flaws you could live with. What matters is, you need to find your own super reps in this hobby. Just to share, I once wore a gen AP ROO and told my business partner (who owns the same model) that it was a super rep. He was really mad for a few days about it, asking why should he spend so much buying it blah blah blah until I told him that I was only messing with him. As I mentioned to my friends here, its not so much about how accurate a watch is on your wrist, but the amount of temerity you possess to carry it off.
