I think I’ve already given you my two cents on this. Don’t use them. They clearly know nothing about reps and that the clone movements can be made to work very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They don’t sound like they know how to handle an SA3135 movement well. A good modder will never cause the “crown to be broken” or whatever he meant. I will suggest you try@ssteel instead he is in your zone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@solitudex J this is up your alley I believe.n

Don't worry, your watch is going to be a lot tougher than something a few bumps and jolts can affect, if it is well put together. Which watchsmith are you using for the project?

We all started somewhere. Thank you for sharing your story F. I hope you enjoy the hobby and the people in this lovely community. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@cromag please allow me to express my 2 cents: 1. Modded: modified (usually upgraded) over stock in terms of parts exchange or modification like painting, refinishing, machining etc. No gen parts are used. 2. Franken: some gen parts are used in the watch. But I do not regard gen straps as a qualifying part for a watch being franken. Primary gen parts used for franken watches are: dials, hands, crown, bezel/insert and movements. 3. Genstein: all parts used are gen but most of the time sourced separately. I’ve seen watches with non-gen or modified cases called gensteins and in some cases this is acceptable. Of course this is subjective but to me a genstein watch needs to be as good as gen visually and in substance be at least 95% gen. I think you are on the right track when it comes to research. Reading is a good start but I understand that the information can be overwhelming for someone new. However, your question is just too generic for anyone o help you. It will be infinitely more helpful for you to specify a model you like and we can help you from there.

The short and quick answer is yes. I have done it personally a good number of times. It will depend of course on your relationship with the TD. Generally the TD will prefer to sell watches, and like any other business, be inclined to go the extra mile for you if you have established a good relationship (read: done a few good deals without issues) with them.

Has anyone ever had to return a watch back to toro bravo before?
Legend replied to Joowonie's question in Questions & Answers
OK in order to help you better, I need to know 1. if you sent the pic of the rep to Omega. If that is the case, they will know that it is a rep (from the differences on the dial at least), and they were being polite when they tell you that they could not identify the watch. 2. If the watch you got shipped is different from the one you chose, can we see which was the one you chose? Also, if you got sent the QC pictures showing a different watch, did you tell toro anything? 3. Lastly, @torobravo was kind of correct about the watch existing in gen, on the assumptions that all reps are flawed to a certain degree. There are good replicas, not so good replica, and all the way to barely identifiable reps. 4. The issue now would not be whether this rep exists in gen, but rather, the process and communication between you and Toro before the watch was shipped. Did you agree to this? Or was this purchase forced upon you? Toro, do you wish to respond to this and tell your side of the story? -
OK because @macarone replied you first, he has unknowingly ruined my reply, though his reply was much more useful than mine was going to be. I was going to tell you that the last I checked, spongebob lived in a pineapple under the sea. well, I will reserve this for the next person who asks about spongebob lol

Each time I see your profile picture I have to grin a little. What's the story with the yellow duck haha. OK Sorry off-topic I know!

anytime mate, and you are most welcome.

you guys are nuts. I bet @LifeTrekker regretted asking for help. This seems to be the wrong forum to do so.

To answer your question simply: Yes it’s a good replica, no it’s not 1:1, and yes it can be improved further in terms of movement noise and case thickness. It is a good replica watch and the best iteration so far. In short, if you want a 15400, get this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

our co-admin @Nanuq is a very knowledgeable and skillful guy, handy man to have around. He is also the guy who shared with us the destructive relationships his sledgehammer and his Landrover have with his Rolexes. So don't mind him, even when he has since toned down a lot...

Oh and Freddie, if you make her hold 2 similar watches if she is drunk, she is not going to discern any significant different. Same applies to other things which she can hold. lol
-
Somehow, I find your post very endearing lol.

hello and welcome back. Congrats also for achieving a new phase in your career.
