  2. Sounds very clever to me. I always am impressed with these "think out of the box" creative solutions. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  3. You got yourself a good catch! And yes I think it's something Moab has been doing often.. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  4. I had a nice crazy hours and like my friend AJ, it has a gen dial and also gen straps. I went through the hassle of swapping new movements for it, 3 in total, after the first two died on me and then the third and last one finally gave up it's ghost too after about a year. The watch is now at the bottom of my drawer, nibbled upon by assorted bugs and barraged by scornful neglect. I dream of the day where a more reliable rep crazy hours movement can be produced. I concede that these watches, like the one AJ is wearing, are one of the most beautiful productions in the rep world. It is a bittersweet beauty, because like the first blossom of spring, the beauty is fragile and delicate... I just hope that AJ and the rest of the guys who own these beauties have more fortuitous experiences than me. My crazy hours watch remains a love-hate memory. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  5. From personal experience, the A21J movement used in these crazy hours are not the most reliable. The watch however is almost 1:1 in appearance, especially with the gen dial. This is a very lovely piece. I just hope that the movement lasts waaay longer for you than it did for me. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  6. It's easy to give away something that cost nothing, but the true spirit of giving is when we give something that means something to us. Thank you fairly new nameless member. I appreciate the gesture of generosity and kindness. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  7. Yes the crown was updated on the noob ceramic diver (v2 I believe). The crown size is the same as the crown on the fc Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  8. The Dome by Stephen King Q: Have you ever tried Monkfish and if so, is it an acceptable substitute for lobster tail?
  9. oh, don't listen to folex.. that guy was messing with you! He was frivolously referring to the "Legend" version, which describes my diver with common, readily accessible aftermarket mods which any competent watchsmith would be able to do for you. Essentially, its a diver with a set of mods already well-known to the community: - low beat ETA movement - uniformly recessed bezel screws - serviced and regulated - waterproofed to 6atm at least The base diver could be a Noob FC V4, JF SS diver V7, Noob A3120 ceramic diver, or any other diver iteration with the A2824 base movement in it.
  10. Yes. I had a perfect cuppa when chatting with a mate over a campfire one windy night in Colorado. A: How would you cook duck for dinner if you have an unrestricted choice?
  11. The v5 is not from noob but, released by another maker. Of the two, the v4 is still the better watch IMHO. But if you want the real expert comment, I shall summon my friend folex, who will be more than able to tell you more. @folex get your lazy butt here bro! Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  12. Are jealous and hateful comments allowed brother? Just jesting. Beautiful watch and well deserving owner. Proud of you my friend, wear her well! Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  13. The watch was sold as a gen and as such, I would expect it to be a full-fledged gen which could be serviced by RSC, if I were the buyer. Benefit of doubt should be given to seller that he did not know about the missing serial number or the severity of the omission. I doubt that either seller or buyer was trying to scam the other. Guys, it's not a matter which needs to be aired here. PM and get it resolved, you both are more than capable of such in terms of intelligence, reason, and integrity. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
  14. I call it forced opportunity M.. You are now "forced" to deal with RWG guys, who are the most understanding and compassionate of the lot. I think its good that you are here, and I get a feeling that this would be a place you call home, if not already so. I will give you my support, and any assistance required, and I think you will have many happy customers here, from what I read. Their loss M. What salt and what wounds again?
  15. Grieving is a human emotion and irrespective of gender. It is universal asexual like laughter, joy, love, compassion and sadness. There could be variations between how men and women express them, but yes, it is entirely possible to be masculine while bawling one's eyes out over the loss of a loved one. Question: If you cannot keep a full beard as a man, is your masculinity compromised?
  16. Hello IndyWG I buy most of my reps from Connie at Kingwatch, she has been my primary dealer of choice for the past 4-5 years. The Asian 2824 is of course a reliable movement, but the main reason I converted it is for the 21600bph rate instead of the 28800bph one that the A2824 provides. The genuine AP diver beats at a lower frequency, and this translates to a slightly erratic looking "ticking" of the second hand on the 21600bph movement as opposed to the smooth sweep on the 28800bph A2824. This mod is mainly for accuracy. Yes the A3120 decorated ceramic diver is a very nice piece now, after the movement decoration and the correct crown update. The orange changes hues under different lighting like the gen. The finer details on this watch are really impressive and surprised me a little honestly. I would not tell you where or who, but this watch was worn to an event and inadvertently discussed and admired by someone (while on my wrist) who is professionally qualified and a known rep-despising snob. That is a story for another time... I will soon offer fully modded divers, brand new (FC or SS or ceramic) with the following mods: - low beat ETA movements 21600bph - recessed bezel screws -service and water resistance to 6atm (enough for swimming and snorkelling and some light diving)
  17. When I was a child, it was Superman and his assorted friends, depending on what was showing on TV. Now, it is the flight team I served with when I was in the airforce. Question: Define masculinity.
  18. Another veteran member, and great source of knowledge and skill gone from our community. RIP Offshore and you'll be remembered by us like how we remember our late fellow member Cats. Sent from Mars using tapatalk
