  1. Why do you need a writing sample for a job requiring you to sell watches over the phone?
  2. I personally would not waste my money on a Rolex. Spend it on something special, unique - a connoisseur mark such as Maurice Lacroix, IWC, AP, Jaeger Lecoultre, or PF. I learned fast that even if you wear a gen Rolex, most people assume its fake simply because of the name. So spare yourself and just get the rep rollie...
  3. Every postal service is garbage. You should see Canada Post. I once purchased a very rare book of Chopin sheet music for 80 euros... it was pristine condition hardcover edition with photographs of his original music and biographical history. An incredible book. The postman hillbilly somehow bent it clear in half, almost snapping it, so he could lodge it into my mailbox such that it would close. This despite the package being covered in "FRAGILE DO NOT BEND". I have seen them throwing packages and I have seen them kicking packages. I once received three consecutive bank statements which had been torn open. Maybe you have to wait a few days extra... but how would you feel if some guy kicked it all the way from the truck to your doorstep? Oh, did I mention that 75% of the time you can't complain because that automatically means you are a racist KKK.
  4. Lots of elegant watches in that collection. I like the Rolex especially. If you're only going to have one Rolex, let it be a classy stainless steel sports model.
  5. Lately I've discovered the joy of bicycling so I'm searching the market for a stylish quartz watch, because the constant bumps and rattles associated with the passtime are a nightmare for most mechanical watches. So keep those suggestions coming!
  6. This is why we say if you like admiring your watch under a magnifying lens then reps are not for you. Regardless this is actually quite decent...
  7. Hello dear friends! A few weeks ago Narikaa informed me he had stumbled upon a Blancpain Leman, one of the most sought-after watches in the replica community. Although hesitant at first, I quickly jumped at the chance to own a piece so few get to experience first-hand. Today was the big day. It arrived and to my surprise, looked even more beautiful than the pictures originally suggested. I'm so happy that I'm now an owner of this watch, because I've been waiting for over a year to have a "BLANCPAIN" in my watch-box. Please enjoy the photos I snapped up quickly... and excuse the quality as I took them in haste. The size and design makes it a great understated classy dinner watch. The highly-polished stainless steel reflects like platinum, and setting is a breeze with a pop-out crown and fully functional complications! I know it may not be MBK Aquanaut level quality, but this is such a rare find that it really doesn't matter. Thanks Narikaa for another great transaction!!
  8. I don't think you are supposed to be manually winding automatic watches at all. In fact I have read somewhere that it's actually not very good for the gears in the movement. I believe it was The ZigmeisterZumba, praise His name, who warned against this initially. I always wobble my watches gently for 20-30 seconds after I set the time and complications if applicable, then it will keep itself alive as long as I keep wearing it. A good thirty second wobble is good for about one hour (often more) use on many of my watches.
  9. Yup, I just did. Read the above post. NARIKAA
  10. Adorable! I remember my first post like this. It was pretty much identical.
  11. Maybe he is phishing... he makes his own forum, then members from other forums start to join - using the same usernames and, you guessed it, same passwords. Then use your imagination.
  12. Most of the Daytonas available are garbage because the movement is very prone to breaking within the first few weeks of ownership.
  13. This is the best faux chrono Daytona I've ever seen. Usually the big seconds hand is running too, but in this one it is stuck too. Are you sure it isn't a real chrono? Remember: you have to unscrew the chrono pushers before it will engage, and you have to press it quite enthusiastically to let it start.
  14. As far as I know Narikaa can get you any tourbillon you want with full QC inspection before shipping.
  15. http://www.watchbuys.com/store/pc/viewPrd....p;idproduct=812 $1,280 and you have your grail watch. If you really like it so much I would go for it...
  16. Be careful! I wanted the Breguet tourbillon too, but these have a huge glaring flaw. On many models the word "GUILLOCHE" is mis-spelled to read "OUILLOCHE". This is just a tragic Chinese slip of translation but in my opinion kills the watch. Regarding the movement: there is nothing to fear. I have a Audemars Piguet Tourbillon replica with the Sea-Gull manual winding Blancpain clone 1-min cage and it is something like 2 years old, I bought it preowned. The guy who owned it before me used it as a daily beater and it is still going strong. The watches are worth the money but remember to BUY SMART. Don't be a fool and get a watch like this from Josh/Andrew but choose a dealer who will quality control it for you. Because at these prices, and with a watch this delicate, you want it to be right the first time around.
  17. I'm sorry, highoeyazmuhudee, but this to me is not a constructive post. Do you know how much work it takes to learn how to swap movements? The skills necessary are gigantic and many people just don't have the patience for it. The tools are also expensive and he just mentioned he's a noob so what do you expect? Furthermore, it is near impossible to find a qualified watchmaker to work on reps. Buying a faulty watch happens to all of us. Aside from choosing a dealer who will do quality control you can't really protect yourself. Unfortunately for you it happened to be your first purchase, I've seen it happen before. Your choice to bring it to some crappy shopping mall jeweler to do something simple like re-size the bracelet was the first error and I'm afraid your fault. Obviously one of the pins was stuck and needed a gentle touch of WD-40, but the "watch repair specialist" at SEARS just tried to muscle it out and broke it. Tough cookies there's nothing you can do. Busted insert... once again this is a very common problem. Normally I would recommend you buy a new one off ebay but given the movement is totally ruined I would just write this watch off as completely dead and start from scratch. Luckily this was not a $1000 tourbillon and only an entry level beginner watch. I have a $228 President rep sitting dead because the hands slipped... unwearable. So it would have happened to you eventually it just happened now. My recommendation: buy yourself a new watch but this time buy from a trusted, quality controlling dealer who personally checks each watch before shipping (the big checkout express websites DO NOT). If you want me to be more specific you can send me a PM about it. Good luck.
  18. These are beautiful photos! But I think the camera type is irrelevant because the previous ones you took looked phenomenal as well. This is a mix of quality equipment and talent... you need both to get results like this. Thanks for the post and how about some wrist shots?
  19. Finally I can sleep at night. Thanks be to God that you are doing better. Remember to rest and take it easy during the recovery process.
  20. I smell another Daytona crisis
  21. Have you ever seen someone wearing a tourbillon watch in public?
  22. Does he think we are stupid people or what???? DURRR DURR Delete this thred before some noob goes to buy one of his 27 jewel italian made submariners with genuine everything and solid gold cyclops
  23. Having never made a quartz watch, Blancpain is in my mind the most honored and dignified watch manufacturer. Congratulations on this watch - but please do something about the strap!
  24. The one with the roman numerals is just breathtaking. I don't know how you could ever take off such a masterpiece!
