  1. I would definitely buy one of the UN super reps, they are gorgeous gorgeous watches!!
  2. 36 mm diameter Unknown asian 17 jewels manual handwinding movement.
  3. Absolutely not. The closest watch, even remotely, to what you're looking for is the Patek Philippe reference 5070. The spacing of the subdials on the rep is too wide, however. There are some vintage references with the far subdials but these are old, rare, and very expensive in genuine form. I'm talking $200,000+ expensive. No truly accurate reps of this watch exist as far as I know (because if they did, I would own one). http://www.joshwatch.com/pp10028-classic-5...nos-p-1563.html If you want a good patek replica get that ^ If you want a great patek replica, get this.... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry470745
  4. Another option to consider...
  5. "The astronauts who made the announcement from the shuttle were actually professional actors, as the genuine space-men were determined too ugly for television according to China's central institute of technology and research..."
  6. Cool post, now I want to wear my rep TT sub today!
  7. I was so close to ordering the new ceramic GMT master, but like you said... its just so boring and lame. I don't care about accuracy, I'll take the unique lines of an AP over the boring yawn-inducing snooze fest that is the modern Rolex sports watch.
  8. I love how his car is adorned with all of these things to keep him safe, but he's apparently replaced the steering wheel on his modern car with an aftermarket one that doesn't house an airbag.
  9. More accurate than you think.
  10. He should have put a little note inside that reads: "Ha ha! Gotcha! its empty! LOL"
  11. This is a popular question, and you'll always get the same reply from me... Trendy, reliable, believable. A twinkling high-polish bracelet and unmistakable design she'll love. Precise ETA 2671-2 movement with date complication always reminds her of those important engagements; one-of-a-kind breathtaking design reminds her of the unique brilliance only she possesses. MSRP: About $9,800 (Rep at less than $250 from most dealers)
  12. This thread made me cry (Im on medication)! I love to see how we all love each other on this forum, its so wonderful, its like a big internet family!
  13. I prefer the Vacheron Constantin Kalla Lune. It's so futuristic looking, that it almost looks like it was beamed to us by aliens... The shine these kinds of watches produce is blinding.
  14. Goes well with your clip-on tie and suspenders!
  15. This weekend.... the one and only, AP Jules Audemars Special Edition Flying Tourbillon:
  16. Ahh yes, the "minimalist" ultra slim wristwatches. My favorites of this category...
  17. Same thing for me, although initially I adored this watch. Eventually the gold started to peel off... and then the hands misaligned. And yes, does it ever scream FAKE - I keep it on permanent display now and haven't worn it for months.
  18. I have little wrists, so I wear smaller timepieces often.
  19. Are you wearing the watch or is the watch wearing you?
  20. Some Corgi lessons to noobs: --> A full gold Rolex is so tempting, but believe me, it's not worth it. Plus, it might make your wrist green. --> I know Rolex Daytonas are so cool and symmetrical looking; buy one, and prepare to face some serious frustration and disappointment. --> The Hublot Big Bang trend is over, and gone with the wind. This is old news. --> Watch out for the date fonts on most Breitling and some Omega reps (+ many other automatic chrono models). Look carefully before spending your money, to make sure you don't get something that looks silly. --> Don't get too paranoid about accuracy and quality. Don't obsess about the tiniest inaccuracy, don't worry about slight problems in dimensions, because more than likely, nobody gives a flying caboose about what the hell kind of a watch you're wearing. --> Don't quit, get depressed, and give up after one of your new watches arrives dead or broken. It happens to all of us, even to me. More than once. Yeah. --> MOST IMPORTANTLY: Have Fun. This is a hobby meant to be enjoyed and appreciated, once you turn it into something super serious and let it affect your emotions and mental health, you're taking it too far.
  21. I don't necessarily agree with you. You have to judge the character of a person, and who better than one of your own family members? Personally, my dad is one of those people who just loves to "show up the establishment" so a rep is perfect for him, because its like a middle finger straight at all of those greedy jewelery corporations that charge too much . Others, I'm sure, would be appalled at the idea of a counterfeit anything... you have to be honest about these things before buying. That said, I think your idea of a genuine vintage watch is a good consideration - and the example you have there, Nanuq, is really lovely. My suggestion for a quality rep.... I would get him something ST-19 based (2 subdial chrono manual handwind). There is a large variety, the movements are robust, and often you can get a five (or even six) figure watch for under $250. Not to mention the practicality of a 30-minute timer, and a display caseback to mesmerize and fascinate him into the world of replica horlogerie! Two really popular: ...or the fancy VC for dressy dads: This is the watch my dad wears, it only cost me $98 - the movement is Asian but has proven quite reliable. Not only, it's a very accurate rep with a $27,000 MSRP If you want something that is very simply and very accurate, how about Aquanaut from Patek Philippe? A $17,000 retail price makes this one a great step into the rep world and the sporty design will make him feel youthful on his birthday: A dad with big wrists might enjoy a big watch! Try these from my collection: 49.2mm (/) Omega Railmaster or 44mm (/) Panerai. My dad wears the Railmaster regularly, but he's a fan of trains and railroading... it is a beauty, with a 50+ hr power reserve, a loud tick, and a distinctive design. Also, it's not expensive at all. There are a lot of great reps out there, and many are actually better buys (in my opinion) than the very expensive new super reps being released. Some advice: stay away from automatic chrono 7750s, and be careful from whom you buy your ETA models - there have been some issues with copy ETA movements being sold as genuine by some replica dealers. Good luck!
  22. That's a massive collection after just one year! Wow!!!
  23. Narikaa, I think everyone hates you after this! I'm just drowning in jealousy over here... the Ulysse Nardin "Freak" and Breguet "La Tradition" are my favorites of the whole bunch; with bonus points going to the fully diamond encrusted Corum "Golden Bridge". Wow: if only I were a rich man. Incredible!
  24. It's very sporty and youthful looking. I just got the Oris catalogue in the mail and have to say these watches have a certain unique charm.
  25. The retail price of buying a similar watch from Breguet is in the six figures. Yours looks just as majestic, if you ask me. A perfect dress piece for those formal gatherings where you just have to impress. Sure, it may not be the most accurate rep in the world - but for the price, this one's a real keeper. Wear it well my dear friend!
