  1. I wouldn't be that negative. For all these years people have been waiting for an automatic Monaco rep with working chronos. Now it looks like we got one (which is a good start). I'm sure people would be able to forgive a lot of things but writing "SAPPHIR CRYTAL" on the rotor is a bit much.
  2. Yeah... it's like "oops they did it again", etc.
  3. Almost all "mid brands". Of course they use the real Swiss ETA 7750 instead of the Asian version in our reps. 99% of all Breitling chronos, TAG, Omega, Oris, Panerai, Ebel Discovery, Chopard, etc. etc.
  4. Hey wait a minute... are the subdials actually that much off? Gen: Rep: I'm just wondering about that orange stripe... it looks plain yellow on the gen. Or perhaps there are other versions too? Edit: Funny... you posted the gen pic at the same time. Either way... this looks like a damn sharp Monaco. At least it's a huge step up from the old 21J / quartz cheapies. Caseback: Edit2: WTF? "SAPPHIR CRYTAL" on the rotor?
  5. Well 7750 rotor is pretty noisy, it's noisy on the gen as well. It's quite impossible to tell (without actually hearing the noise of your watch) whether it's normal or not. But the rotor definitely can be noisy and it's not a problem at all... just characteristic for this movement. If the watch is keeping good time and has a decent power reserve I doubt there's anything to worry about.
  6. Congrats Laz! You seem to be on a roll now. So many gens in such a short time. Great watches man! PS: One thing you forgot to mention about this watch is the movement... it's one of the best GMT movements ever done (and definitely the most practical).
  7. I just looked at the kid's face and decided not to load it up. It'd be a waste of good connection.
  8. Dealers say a lot of things. Sometimes "they don't know", sometimes these claims are called Little White Lies. Don't worry, it's normal.
  9. There are some watch models that look just better in black... or what says Stephane?
  10. Wonder if there are 2 different versions. This one has tachymeter numbers on the bezel. I actually like this one more.
  11. @HikeUsa: That's very cool AP man! Starting the week with my Big Bad BTR.
  12. I was already wondering where Lani was. Damn... get well soon my friend!
  13. Ok, my mistake. I wasn't aware that the GMT case is so much bigger. Isn't the standard Navi something like 41-42mm?
  14. Nice. But 47mm? I seriously doubt it. Navitimer is just ca. 40mm watch.
  15. Good old SMP chrono for Saturday!
  16. I always go back and forth with this model. On the other hand I love it, it's a beautiful watch... but on the other hand I always feel a bit uncomfortable wearing it. Gold is just... well... you know. But TT Sub is still among my favorite watches. PS: Any reason you didn't make a blue dial franken? Would be pretty cool to own both versions. Your franken... well, it's amazing. Enjoy!
  17. Awesome. Thanks for sharing Richard. I've always wanted to see your gen/rep collection as it's among the biggest and most impressive on RWG. And the traditional question: Which one is your favorite / gets the most wrist time?
  18. Can you point out which links don't work so I can fix them?
  19. Wow... proves once again that the gens among the RWG members rival ANY watch forum on the Internet. Both reds are just wonderful... gen is pretty much the only option for the red 1680... it can't be built properly anyway... the dials simply aren't accessible and the Daytona is a legend. Congrats for both... and don't drop 'em!
  20. Good weekend RWG... time for the traditional and original Weekend Wrist Check! Starting the Friday morning with my favorite blue.
  21. Same dilemma as with Explorer II. White is more popular in both Daytona and ExpII lineups, and would be my choice of color for Daytona too.
  22. My old favorite for Thursday.
  23. No comment about that picture... but lots of people seem to fake their lume shots these days. Here and in the gen forums too. It's not nice. I have done doctored lume shots as well... but I have never "colored" anything... just used the double layer PhotoShop trick... and ALWAYS mentioned about it. This picture is a good example of 2/layers /dark shot/light shot combined together. Easy way to spot a fake lume shot (esp. Rolex) is the complete lack of green reflection on the rehaut and crystal. Any bozo can use the lasso tool and color the lumed areas green, but faking the reflection is much tougher. The layer trick is fun to do occasionally but not "authentic"... but completely fake PS lume is totally embarrassing (at least when you don't mention about it).
