  1. I have the WM9 so there will be no more Subs for me. Sorry. And besides... there wouldn't be much to review... your Noob looks exactly the same as the "classic" one. Just that typical offcenter engraving that they have in all Noobfactory watches now. I agree, it's a serious downgrade and stupid move from the factory.
  2. You scored well Jaco. Noobmariner is a rep classic, and still very good Sub replica for the money. Enjoy!
  3. Thanks mate. Lovin' the Bond... I don't know why I didn't buy the gen sooner. Definitely a great watch.
  4. I guess it goes without saying... wearing my new beauty.
  5. Why should anyone complain about a harmless hobby/passion like watches? I don't get it. My fiancee doesn't understand my watch passion, either... and why I'm spending so much money on them. But she has never said anything even remotely negative about it. And why should she... it's MY business where I want to spend my own hard earned money to... I'm a big boy and I do whatever I want with my money (and time). She buys lots of clothes, makeup, etc. blahblah... you know... all kinds of 100% useless "women's stuff" with her money (sometimes even using my money lol). I'm not complaining, either. Despite living together, people SHOULD have their own lives, and their own hobbies, friends and interests. If I were you, I would rather let her go than become "pussy whipped". World is full of nice women. Just my 2c.
  6. I have developed a weird fetish for the full gold model of the 1911 chrono... not the older 39mm version that had El Primero, but the newer 41mm version with inhouse Modulor movement. It's strange as I'm not a big gold fan at all (usually). I know I wouldn't even wear this one... it's just way too much. But I wouldn't mind owning this watch... it's just... well, perfect.
  7. I gotta grab this one. I liked Systematic Chaos... In The Presence of Enemies part 2 is a good song. Constant Motion is embarrassing though... it sound like poor man's Metallica... they also ripped elements from Pink Floyd's Animals album in Repetance (listen to the background chorus). I always thought DT had the potential to make an amazing album so far they haven't completely nailed it. I like them though... seen them 3 times. And those boys can definitely play... great musicians! Maybe this time?
  8. Thanks all. If you're looking for an Ebel, go for preowned. Skool is right... the resale value is poor and great deals can be made. Bricktop (an old RWG1 vet) bought one. I don't know what these are actually selling for... but BTR chronograph retails at $7.350 in the US... the actual selling price used to be around 5K. 2K pounds sounds very low for the chrono version as it has a very sophisticated inhouse movement that they developed together with Breguet. But who knows... maybe all luxury items are getting sold very cheap now, due to the recession. There are also some very, very expensive models in the BTR line (complications, etc. in the 25K range or so). Discovery is the cheaper model and it has a standard 7750... maybe you mix them up, or think about non-chrono versions? I'm considering a gen eventually... but maybe I'll go for the classic 1911 chronograph instead.
  9. Mostly just randomly... and I try to wear them all... so it means a new watch almost every day. But when I have just purchased a new one, of course I tend to wear that more in the first two-three weeks.
  10. I didn't actually consider the GMT IIc "too flashy". Something just wasn't right. The new model is very nice watch as it is, but it also destroyed the great aviator tool watch as we know it. The traditions and the original "spirit" just isn't there. That watch is a "gimmick". Same with the new Sub with bulky crown guards. Why downgrade something that was perfect for 40 years? I just don't get it.
  11. Snowflake is indeed quite amazing. Based on the coronet that is either gen or WM9 clasp, right?
  12. You know what R... I knew you'd eventually sell it. I know your tastes and YM is just a little bit "too much" for a hardcore Steel Rolex guy. I think the same way about YM... that's probably why I couldn't get myself to like the GMT IIc, either. They depart a bit too much of the original, classic Rolex sports design. YM is very borderline though. At first I didn't like it at all but after seeing it "in the flesh" I fell in love... but it didn't last. I could tell many similar stories from my barchelor days.
  13. Yeah that Dluddy's no-date does it for me as well. Quite amazing. I can also offer my ex-wife anytime.
  14. Congrats! What a great replication this is... ie. typical WM9 standards. I briefly owned a YM but I decided that it's not a watch for me. But man... this WM9 almost makes me reconsider.
  15. Congrats my friend! There's just something irresistible about the no-dates.
  16. I remember this photo. If I recall correctly this watch had been in a motorcycle accident.
  17. If I were you I'd PM Francisco. He might be able to help... he and Zigmeister are among the only ones who have skills to take this movement apart and give some advice. That's probably why you didn't receive any replies... average members simply can't do that kind of HC repairs. You must possess at least some kind of skills to even attempt it. PS: Of course you have read the countless reviews of the seconds at '6 movement. You could find some info from those.
  18. Well this is easy... as I own only one Breitling. SFSO without a doubt. I'm actually considering a gen of this... but if I had to choose a rep I'd choose this every time.
  19. Thanks man. Yeah it's getting pretty expensive but what can you do... addict is an addict. Yeah, preowned gens are so cheap now due to recession... it makes perfect sense to buy these now. And Seamaster is probably the best watch that you can buy for around $1K (preowned). The quality and finish equals my Rolex with ease... Omegas are just 3x cheaper. I mean, how could you resist?
  20. Thanks guys. Bond Seamaster is definitely challenging to shoot... but that just makes it fun. I try to make some kind of rep vs. gen article later. I don't have the rep anymore but I wore it for years so it's all fresh in my mind.
  21. This Monday is rather special wrist check for me. Will make an article of my new acquisition soon.
