  1. They're both genuine. And what's so special about those pictures?
  2. What do we know about the "ETA shortage", really? We've heard some rumors that ETA will stop providing the movements to foreign manufacturers in 2010. It's 2007 now. How do we know that these all "ETA shortage" claims aren't just another excuse to bump the prices up? I'm not saying they necessarily are, but who the hell knows what's the real truth here?
  3. Just for the record: The new cartel price for the UPO is $278 + shipping. That's $10 more than the 7750-based chrono version. http://www.perfectclones88.com/omse10030-p...ate-p-2206.html
  4. The bad reputation comes mainly from the old, low beat models. We've actually seen very few bad reports of the new 28.800bph version. I have 2 new 7750-watches and they've been 100% reliable for over 12 months now.
  5. Cool thread. I'm not a huge fan of DateJust (or any other dress/small Rolexes), but it's nice to see pictures of the good reps. They're amazingly rare, considering how popular watch the gen is (worldwide). Who's the first one to write a good DateJust review?
  6. Make sure they didn't accidentally dump any watches there. You know what that means... you have to jump in there and search the dumpster really, really well.
  7. I went to TimeZone once... and lots of those purists are buying Alphas for fun. Most of them would never consider a replica. Alpha is considered ok among the gen guys, which is kinda ironic, since Alphas probably come from the same factory as the cheaper Asian 21J reps.
  8. Thanks Ryaku. Doesn't look too bad to me. Definitely acceptable, imho.
  9. You can add another huge Breitling fan on the list. Fantastic review of course... and naturally it got linked to the Breitling Guide. This is what this forum should be all about. Thanks.
  10. Reps of gold watches are always "so and so". The gen is awesome... I mean holy-fecking-[censored] awesome.
  11. Cool. The movement still has nothing to do with Lemania though. It's Seagull ST-19. Repeat after me: Seagull ST-19... Seagull ST-19...
  12. Doc apparently swapped the datewheel to the ETA one, and said how the original Asian datewheel was badly misaligned. It would have been nice to see it before he did the swap.
  13. Really nice. It would have been interesting to see the bad datewheel alignment issue though.
  14. Here's gen. Retail: $12.300. Looks like the whole case... including the lugs are gold on this genuine. Perhaps there's a different (maybe older) version too?
  15. http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?products_id=1801 I'm not gentleman enough to wear this gold watch but damn it looks nice. It probably has the wrong spacing and other flaws though...but $199 doesn't sound too bad price for this beauty.
  16. Wearing the Big Bad UPO today.
  17. Happy birthday vbarrett! I'm wearing the Link now.
  18. Ok. And I agree... after there are too big gaps between quotes and signatures. Just one space would be sufficient. And after the signature ____________________________ line there shouldn't be no spaces. I don't like the avatars on the side. More space for the pics, the better (imho). I guess it's a lot about what you get used to...
  19. Many people find those links helpful. Those articles have way over 100.000 views combined. You're the first one I've heard who thinks it's annoying.
  20. Why? This setup is 100x better and it makes using larger images possible. I just wonder why it took so long to adopt this new (much better) TRC-type layout. In a forum like this watch images should always be the priority over avatars.
  21. Omega Guide has this review linked (by kdo2milger): http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=9242
  22. Morning. I'm starting the weekend with one of the best reps ever, The Fish. How about you?
  23. @freddy: How coud that be "accurate", since the 7750 subdial spacing is different from the El Primero? Of course the seconds at '9 7750-version would make more sense than the "frozen stopwatch" cheapo, but the price is three times more as well. And then you're stuck with a rep that has wrong spacing. Frankly, I think NOT making this cheap-o-version is a wasted opportunity from the factory. None of us regulars are going to buy the '6 version anyway. I can see that the dealers could sell hundreds of this cheap one (if it's priced correctly). Glad yours is running fine though, it looks great!
  24. Yep. Good catch. I only looked at the black version (which is obviously the "Lite" model).
