  1. Actually, I wouldn't mind any of them. I love almost all kinds of watches. Zenith hmm... one of my favourite brands... but that particular model isn't my "cup of tea". And I perfectly understand the need of the SeaHawk... so many members want it. If it gets replicated I'm happy for them. That's very original design and nice watch. Just not for me. Breguet Transatlantic... well what can I say? It's magnificient watch, but way overboard for an average guy like me. I don't understand why some members need to attack other people's tastes. Higly subjective matter... and definitely not worth getting into an argument. Some like the mother, others love the daughter, etc...
  2. I've had about 15-20 reps with different movements and I never had ANY serious problems with them. None, zilch, zip. My seamaster clasp pin broke once, and one of my used 21.500bph Asian Valjoux had a chrono reset problem. But that's it. I've owned plenty of genuines (nothing very high end though... only TAGs, Tissots, etc.), but my father owns at least 6-7 very expensive gens. Of course they're better made, but I don't think the difference isn't as dramatic as some people suggest... especially with the newer reps. These things just tell the time. Even Timex can last for 25 years. My dads genuine 1978 Rolex GMT Master feels flimsy, pathetic and cheap compared to almost any modern watch. Even compared to my rep GMT Master for Chrissakes! Besides the movement (Caliber 1560 I recall) the superior quality is quite difficult for us mortals to see... with that rattling, extraordinary flimsly bracelet and all... but of course when we go to more complicated watches it's a different story. Full gold Breguet Transatlantic simply can't be repped properly. And I completely agree... the quality in parts (bracelets, clasps, crowns) and (sometimes) movement isn't there with reps... but visually they're amazingly close. I don't think the senior members here even suggested anything else... and that's mainly why we buy them. I could easily buy some nice gens, but to me reps are much more fascinating.
  3. I did. Yeah... I agree. We need more thread crapping assclowns with bending Paris Hiltons on their avatar.
  4. Been wearing the PO almost the whole week. Dirty... but fresh & hot wristshot... it's 7'o'clock in the morning here.
  5. I don't see any reason why the basic ETA movements in our reps wouldn't last for 15 years. However, it's not a bad idea to service your automatic movement after 5-6 years of use. According to Ziggy they'll last a lifetime (if you take good care of them). My father's Tudor Submariner with basic ETA movement lasted for 25 years before it needed to be serviced and regulated. The weak parts in the ETA reps isn't the movement... but crown, bracelets, clasps, etc. might be the "weak links". Just don't abuse your watches and they'll last. Treat them with "silk gloves"... if you know what I mean. Members have 4-5 year old ETA reps and I rarely hear them having any problems. But then again there are even older reps with Asian automatics that run perfectly fine, too.
  6. The person specifically asked about the best 42mm version and Joshua doesn't carry the 4th Gen PO (as far as I know). First choose your watch... then choose your dealer.
  7. The new so-called "Ultimate PO" 45mm is extremely accurate. Paul, PureTime, Joshua and Andrew carry it already... and Precious Time is getting it too. The 4th Gen PO is still the best of the 42.5mm versions.
  8. @DWSmoot: I'm sure that same ($888) watch comes out eventually with Asian movement.
  9. Glad you're still enjoying it Melvin. Also notice how the slide rule lines up perfectly (unlike on the new Navis). The brushed version is much more "tool watch" like. Can't think of a nicer "dressy chrono" than this (except the TT Navi of course).
  10. Hmm... I loved the Serie Speciale. I might need to buy this watch again with the new, accurate brushed finish and 28.8 movement. It didn't look too bad polished, either. It was just a bit too tight on my wrist. Found these old pics from the HD and decided to share. Small flaws... yes... but it was still a lovely rep.
  11. Neither do I (anymore). Both are gone to good new homes (but not forgotten). No more MBWs or any other Rollies for me. I love them, but I never wear them... so I don't see a point purchasing them. My collection of Rolex will probably remain at 2 (Nooby and GMT). GMT is visually very accurate and it gets some regular wrist time... and Nooby was a gift from a friend.
  12. Yeah. Owning less than 7-8 reps seems to be impossible. I probably end up somewhere in the range of 10+ (when I'm finished). I already have about 6 reps that I couldn't even consider selling (most Omegas). And I also need Chronomat Evolution, the new 45mm black PO. The upcoming Hublot Big Bang and Steelfish SuperOcean are very tempting too... not to mention the full size Moon Watch... and the white dial IWC GST (with gold hands)... gorgeous. Okay...who am I kidding? It will never stop.
  13. I guess I'm not a "collector" in traditional sense. I only keep the watches that I wear. Sometimes I purchase reps just to get a "feel" of them... and then trade them away. I try to keep my collection compact... 7-8 watches that get regular wrist time is perfect for me. I don't need 30 watches.
  14. There's no competition... the Navitimer Serie Speciale (the new brushed version from Joshua) is superior without a doubt.
  15. I would love to see the 7750-based reps of this (Zenith El Primero Flyback Rainbow): And the Ebel 1911 BTR (okay the complication on the first one isn't realistic): GMT: The bracelet plain chrono version (would be easy to do, technically): (see the movie): http://www.ebel.com/1911BTR/BTR_English.html
  16. All dealers are selling it. Read the original review HERE to find all the answers. Yes. Precious Time is in UK too. So you might get this watch from him without any customs risk. I don't know if he has them on stock though. Yes.
  17. Superb. Is this one of those new Serie Speciale (swiss) versions that Joshua sells... or have you built it yourself? I need to link this post to the Breitling Guide when I do the next update. Thanks for sharing, magnificient watch!!!
  18. Ditto. Some people call it a AP clone, but I don't care. I think Big Bang is amazing looker.
  19. What a busy month for me. I'm wearing the PO today. This is no doubt one of my all-time favourites....
  20. My dad owns plenty of nice gens (Rolex, IWC) and he gave me a Longines automatic watch for my 7th birthday. I've been a watch nut ever since.
  21. Are you sure your rep isn't this one: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=10733
  22. Very cool skeleton Randy.... I love it!!! Just came from another business trip...and been wearing this for the last 2 days:
