the thing was, there was only like a $75 difference between the sa3135 alone or a whole watch with one. my thought was since its in a watch you can know if the movement is DOA and you get extra parts
I am waiting for sa3135 v2, there is always a v2
In speaking to sean the other week, you cant get a sa3135 by itself. you have to get his case set and a movement.
you can buy the 16610LN/LV with the sa3135 he has listed and get a whole watch with the sa3135. then sell the rest of the watch.
The first dial Sean sent was too big. As soon as I told him he shipped out a second at no charge.
I am using a custom stilty spacer with a gen date wheel (used as an overlay) with my 2892.
Hands are BK SL eta hands for now, but I am going to have the cannon pinion machined and installing gen hands in the near future.
if the WM9 dial is the same diameter as gen or smaller it will fit. I think it is going to be larger than gen, so you will need to turn the dial down.
If all goes well with my gen dial install, I will have a SL sean dial for sale.
by the way, I am using a 2892 in my sean build. seemed a better choice than the sa3135, at least the current one
Nice build. Mine is very similar, but I'm using a 2892 instead. How is the hand lume vs gen dial lume? Good to see another Sean build with all the TC stuff being posted.
@tribal, the bracelet is ok, it has the bulge on the back side of the sel like TC'S new bracelet does. And I think the mid links are too loose, but it's brushed well and has a good color to the SS. The clasp is amazing though!
thanks for the review. as others have said it is nice to see watches like this being introduced to the community.
In my opinion, the bracelet end link is still wrong. It is the same as the Sean bracelet. there is portion that dips below the back of the watch. I asked TC about this and he never showed a picture of it. the edges are still not crisp enough.
here is your picture showing what I mean:
This one has been loved and massaged by many a member and modder. I am very fortunate to be the current keeper. There was a recent thread about building one on the cheap. I highly recommend building one!
