  1. Looks gorgeous! Is the datewheel black? I thought it would be blue as the dial...
  2. Hey Mark, Damn nice watch... if you ever think of throwing it away just say so! Marco
  3. I humbly rely to your expertise!
  4. I am relieved then... that may also resolve the hole alignment between the case and the mvmt. You think that it will be simple to fix? M.
  5. ... [censored] hits the fan - Part 3 The RXW MM gold hands I ordered for a Moljina mvmt turned out to be for unitas and doesnt fit. I am now waiting for the correct set of hands crossing my fingers for them to arrive fast and correctly... Some pics of my other case (without mvmt spacer) but with a "Brev. Ital." engraving I will pray for some help with a good dial and a fine tuning assembling... oh and a Plexi crystal!!!! Can I take it with me next month Mark? Cheers, M.
  6. ... [censored] hits the fan - Part 2 Dial sits over the rim of the ring instead of fitting into it as it should (and I dont know what to do!!):
  7. And now this is when the [censored] hits the fan! Part 1 Some work to be done for stem hole alignment between case and mvmt:
  8. Getting smoothly inside the case. You can notice that the upper left gear on the mvmt is a blank one produced by Cortebért for replacement issues. rear view
  9. Found a spacer ring at last!! Bought with my second RXW MM case on E-bay (Thanks Ole). For my surprise my Cal 616. Cortebért fits in it like the ring was produced to accomodate it. Near the twin brother below (without mvmt spacer and with the original gear) and a close up:
  10. Yup... you get some money back. In Portugal you get about 80% of the shipping costs if you can prove its EMS fault and responsability... a true horror. M.
  11. Looks gorgeous!!! enjoy it well... Cheers, M.
  12. Are you sure you would want one of these monsters attached to your wrist? M.
  13. Hey Mark, any further developments on this project of yours? Cheers, M.
  14. Amazing talent! Wish I could do it myself. Thanks for your care and instructive post! M.
  15. Caro amigo, eu consigo já contava!
  16. Maybe I will have the possibility to start a small scale production of these babies (2.5mm thick 316L steel, non removable and with engraving included). I will be asking for some production prices for the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile I would like to know who would be interested on buying. Cheers, M.
  17. From what I was told the cal. 618 is almost impossible to find. That is the opinion of 3 seasoned watchsmiths I talked to during my sourcing adventures. The only one that has seen one of those was the eldest of the 3 and it was about 50 years ago on a vintage (even then!) Rolex Military pocket watch! As far as I know, Cortebért Cal. 616 (15 jewels) mvmts were frequently "used" by Rolex and you can see them used by Panerai. But those are also getting rare!!! You can see reference of the 616s here: http://www.knirim.de/xpane.pdf Dont forget if you need someone to help you on upgrading your watch, or helping on your projects, Finepics will be the right man. Cheers M.
  18. Congratulations Andrew! God bless your child, you and your family... All the best for you. Sincerely, Marco
  19. He can do both ways. You can present him a drawing (I made an AutoCad drawing of the buckle layout with the text on an approximate font) or you can show him a picture. Or both! Now this is the beautiful part: if some type (character, formatting, etc...) on the drawing is somewhat less accurate he will copy it from the picture. Cheers, M.
  20. Thanks for the tip. It will help a lot!!! Cheers, M.
