I finally broke down and purchased a case from Raffles time. I was able to make an offer on ebay and got it for less than the $155 + 30 shipping that he's charging now for the cases. But there aren't many options right now for budget builds, so options were limited. The case came in the mail yesterday as is basically the same as the Silix case that has been out of stock for a while now. It is engraved 6538 on one side and 5508 on the other side.
He forgot to include a bezel insert. I emailed him, but he's on vacation right now. I'm sure he'll take care of the issue.
Dial is from Hellanarou. Pretty good for a budget dial.
Drilled the lugholes today to accept 2mm spring bars. Tomorrow I'm going to soften the case a bit.
Last items will be handset from Tiger Concepts and ETA 2824-2 that's on the way. I'm currently researching options for aging the dial and hands very slightly. I'll post as the build progresses. Tomorrow I'll have pictures of the softened case.
These look great. I hope that your limited run will only be until you sell out then reprint.

Are you able to print any Tudor dials? Would love a snowflake and Tudor sub dial.

Thanks for this project and I look forward to one of those 1680 dials.

Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk 2

I've used the Harbor Freight press for the retaining ring. I've only had issue with 1680 because the high profile and Cyclops.
I ended up using a pill bottle cap...

Rolex dials: 5512, 5513, 1680 (all varieties), 1665, 1675
Tudor dials: 9401 (black & blue), 9411 (black & blue), 7928
These would all be in demand and sell like hot cakes.

Since A's watches have greatly inspired me, I went and purchased an Anthaya crown and tube. I'm now looking for someone to drill and tap for me so I can install it. The crown/tube really makes a huge difference. Keep up the good work Akira!
Thanks for the suggestions. I have a few Ofrei lum dots on order...they seem to be taking forever to get here. I think they will be better. I'm not sure I follow what you mean on your second bit of advice. Can you elaborate? Thanks!!
The case is marked 6541, which I think is actually a Milgauss reference. But I see a lot of the silix cases marked as such. Daz on RWI can probably tell you more specifics. It's his build.
