CC: STUNNING! It's amazing how different one component can make the watch look. Made me
-
Link? Does the seller explicitly say that it's not an OEM case?
-
I supplied the printer with all of the designs I showed earlier on in the thread. As for the comex (or any dial for that matter) variation will exist between a digital file, and the print: that's just the nature of the process. Almost everything is finished being printed, and I think all the dials I've seen look great thus far.

I'm chinese Haha no - luck of the draw I suppose.

I got mine a little over a week ago (to an email I don't check). The watch showed up at my doorstep yesterday, and I was wondering what the hell it was until I opened the box. Essentially, I didn't even approve the watch: they sent QC pictures, I didn't respond, so they shipped it out

I think it's just the way the rubber was molded. Either way I plan on getting a gen short rubber strap for this watch: it definitely warrants an upgrade

Time stamped photos from me to all the naysayers Either I just dropped $20,000 on a gen carbon fiber watch and AP themselves have buckle font variations, or it's the H-factory diver that I've waited since the end of April to have... Enjoy le shitty iphone pics!

Thinking about purchasing this. Gen? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300938991037

I ordered from Perfect Clones, but yes it's the same watch. Carbon fiber pattern looks amazing! There are no defects in the case, and everything works great except the inner bezel (the upper left crown should control the inner bezel, yes?). Either way, it's a keeper. If anything, I'll send it to a modder to fix the inner bezel problem.

Oo la la! Zenith movement?
-
Forgot the last picture! Comex logo is printed as per gen: black ink over white No other aftermarket comex dial is printed this way

UPDATE #9 Just received more pictures! THESE LOOK GREAT As mentioned earlier, after the misprints are reprinted, I will make the second payment, and the dials will be shipped.
-
As mentioned earlier in this thread, I'll only be producing this limited run. Because I needed to come close to the minimum order quantity for the dial factory, more dials ARE available. The original pre-order list was created JUST to cover the cost of printing this order. Short answer: If you need a dial, pm me and I'll let you know if the model specified is available. Pm me Pm me

dial without dial feet on movement?
whoopy12 replied to horologist's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
It's essentially double-sided adhesive-backed "dots". See here: http://www.fdjtool.com/ProductInfo/MMM122.aspx -
I think I'll leave it to a modder, but it actually doesn't look too difficult: http://dialrestore.com/ UPDATE #8 Dials have been printed - I was told about 10% had small defects in the printing, so these will need to be dunked in alcohol (to remove the base layer of matte black paint), repainted, and padprinted - again. Once all of the reprinted dials pass QC, I will make the 2nd payment and the dials will be shipped to me. As a side note: While I definitely think the wait will be worth it, it's killing me! All my phong franken build needs is that MK2 dial! - Whoop

They're pretty freaking good. I decided to go gen after I found out they were out of stock - not complaining though
-
I'll be using mine on a gen movement - going to reposition/solder the feet

UPDATE #7 Dial test printing has begun! The 1665 drsd was the first design tested on a few scrap dials today. The ink will be raised in the final product (as per gen), but just a TAD less than the current level shown here. The reason I decided to replicate the 1665 in the first place was because I loved the aesthetic of the crown. Almost every aftermarket dial I've seen neglects existing nuances. Below are three pictures of the test print dial, and a gen coronet for comparison

Rolex service part numbers/reference booklet?
whoopy12 replied to whoopy12's topic in The Rolex Area
CC - Do you know if 1680/1665 hands are identical? I've heard that the minute hand is different (longer/shorter) between the two, not 100% on that though. I've also found that 1680 hands are generally cheaper..
