Need some help. Been practicing on some of my asian auto reps to learn a thing or two about watch repairs. I have a quartz Tag Aquaracer and would like to remove the crystal. However, I must remove the movement first. The issue - how do I remove the stem?

Takashi- Do you think all I need is the gen crown or do you think I need to the tube as well?

I just notice that the current tube has no threads. Gonna have to buy a gen tube. Yikes.

Just picked up a case used on the "closed" factory Omegas with the correct HE valve placement from back in the day. However, it did not come with the crown (nor the stem). I tried using another crown and stem from a spare Omega that I have, but the crown is way too big to screw down. For those that have the closed factory case, can anyone let me know how big the crown is/measurement? 5.2mm, 5.5mm, 5.7mm ??? Any help is much much appreciated.

Sooner or later, aren't all the GMT hands on a modified 2836 movement gonna crap out? We know that the 2836 movement is not a true GMT movement. Reason why I bring this up is that my GMT hand on my Omega GMT moves with the time, but crapped out and does not move any more when turning the crown.

Youre gonna have to remove the movement and push the crystal out. Removing the bezel will not able you to remove the crystal unfortunately.

Defitnely get the crystal double A/R. Got mine done from Chief and came out awesome. As for the second hand sweep. is there really a difference between how the second hand sweeps between 2824 and 2836? Not too sure.

It has been discussed in this forum previously. 1 - Silix offers the correct Omega emblem on the dial (dial makers, 3-6-9), but the details differs from that of say Andrew/Josh, etc. 2 - Silix offers a 2836 movement, where others offer a 2824 movement. 3 - Date font differs between the two 4 - Pearl not as good on Silix (except on the Casino Royale version) compared to others. Hope this helps.

Defintely love this combo. I bought a green insert on eBay. Might swap the orange for the green. Gotta have fun with the reps.

By the way, which color looks the best for my Fraken 42? I like the orange, but leaning towards green
