I'm working on an Air-King franken. The only thing I have trouble with are the hands. I can't seem to find Air-King type hands to fit an ETA movement. Any ideas?

Thanks guys! I got my dial from mahand as well. He sent me the wrong first, the no-date dial, there is a difference in the colour of those two dials, the no-date seemed to be a lot lighter in colour. Stainless steel ring for the rehaut? Wish I thought of that! I just ordered another case set from DW, that he assured me would fit a 26mm dial...

I was bit by the Tudor bug about a month ago, here's some builds: Cartel case, bracelet, ETA 2846 with Yuki Tudor Rotor, Yuki dial and hands, rep bracelet, Clark T-19. I tried to install a gen crown and Clarks tube, but snapped the tube during installation So the Cartel one will have to do for now... My Ranger build. Tudor 9052 case, Seagull 2824, Yuki Dial and hands, Hirsh Lizard strap, Rolex buckle. This one needs a little work. The date doesn't snap over perfectly so I have to tinker around with it. A work in progress. The case is a DW case for ebay, unfortunately the dial is a shade too small for it, probably because it's meant for a 1680 dial. The dial is from ebay, as are the hands, blue insert is from WSO, powered by an Asian 2836.

I'm pretty sure a 2483 beats at 21,600 bph.

As far as I know the early Tudor subs had in-house movements, other than that it's been various ETA's under the hood.

You could try a 2472. It should fit like a glove the only problem is that it has a different second hand size. But for that watch i'd recommend a 2783 (It's what I have in my 1016). It beats at 21,600 bph, fits the case, and uses the exact same hands as a 2824.

Great build! I got to handle a gen of this model recently and man I love that dial and lollipop hand combo.

Looks good. The only thing that bugs me is the "Oyster Perpetual" seems to be in the wrong font, but on the wrist who the hell is going to notice that! Love that strap by the way.

Nice watch! That PVD 5500 Explorer looks pretty sweet as well.

JMB, it would not have been possible were it not for your awesome case, bezel and drilled lugs!

You can make a 5500 Explorer, that's what I did. You need a movement that is the same size as a 2824, I would suggest an ETA 2472 (which I will soon be putting in mine). It beats the same as the gen, 18,000 bph. I tried a few Clarks crystals, in the end I had to grind the cyclops off and re-polish it. For a dial I would try Yuki. The bracelet gave me a bit of trouble. It didn't want to accept my Yuki gen spec spring bars. I had to take a small nail and use a hammer to open them up, it worked well

Ever since stumbling on LHOOQ's 1016 builds I wanted on of my own. I gathered up the parts and here it is: The build consisted of: DJ case, machined bezel from JMB, Cartel 7838 bracelet, Dial from ebay seller, Raffles hands, and powered by an ETA 2783 (non-hacking) that beats at 21,600 bph. I may add a hack lever in the future, but I'm content for now
