  1. I didn't come up with this combo but I saw it on this forum and liked it so much I duplicated it. Not disappointed.
  2. Nothing to worry about, his feedback is 100%
  3. Once again our members going to great lengths to protect us. Thanks again!!
  4. Chronoluv - love the watch. I have one but I feel like the lume is too dark and te crystal needs AR compared to gen. Yours looks great. Did you mod it?
  5. Gunny 74. Color matches the gold hands perfectly
  6. Quick correction to my comments above. While design patents likely don't play a role in older designs like PAM and Rolex Subs, any new watch design almost certainly has a design patent protecting it. Homage watches that come to close to that design would be infringing under the design patent.
  7. Utillity patents - protect functionality - are good for 20 years and design patents - protect asthetic design - are good for 14 years in most countries. However, trademarks may be maintained forever. Trademarks include things like brand names but may also include particular shapes and designs if the company can prove that the public associates that shape with their brand. For example, Panerai has trademarked the shape of their crown guard - many of the old body styles even have Reg T.M. written on the CG. If you make a watch that has a similar crown guard to their trademarked one, and Panerai can prove that there is "market confusion" with respect to your watch - market confusion means the public may mistake your brand for a Panerai - than Panerai can win in court. Market confusion is a nebulous standard, how do you prove or disprove whether the public was confused, so if you're even close the trademark owner will likely sue you. Actually, under the law, the trademark owner is almost forced to intervien because there is a duty to police the market and protect your TM or you could lose it. To this end, homage watch makers that make a product that looks too similar to a trademarked design may be sued by the trademark owner. For the most part patents don't play into this because any patents that were obtained have long expired. Panerai is a unique example however, because their CG is so different and well known to Panerai. You can imagine how difficult it would be for Rolex to try and obtain a trademark for their sub design because there are so many subs out there. What about the Rolex sub other than the name is uniquely Rolex (you'll get sued for TM infringement for sure if you use the name) - I'm sure members will chime in here and for each thing they think of I bet Rolex probably has a TM on that unique feature. If your homage watch were to incorporate one of the things that is uniquely Rolex and they have TM'd than you can bet Rolex will come after you. All the none trademarked feature are fair game and as we know there are thousands of sub designs out there so it's a pretty crowded space. Hope this helps, I'm an intellectual property attorney so feel free to ask other questions and I will try and answer them.
  8. Umm only one of the greatest holidays ever invented. Our genius forefathers, RIP, decided to create a holiday where the women were to spend the entire day, sometimes more, slaving in the kitchen making a giant feast and the men were supposed to watch football all day, stuff their faces with food, and then pass out. It's become TRADITION. It's amazing. If you don't have a similar holiday in your country I highly recommend it.
  9. You have to open your eyes. That step is important.
  10. Hip Hop: Yeah, that's right hun, I won the gold medal in the 100 meter big breast fly stroke. Girl: Ohhhh Wow really, I've never even heard of that event. Hip Hop: It's new to the games this year. Why don't we go back to my place and I'll show it to you.
  11. I found it Sneed...the TeeJay method. I'll try it when my new insert shows up. http://www.rwg.cc/topic/148140-problem-bezel-changehelp/page__hl__+remove%20+insert#entry1124430
  12. Thanks so much for the info guys. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to respond. Sneed, any help on how to replace the insert without taking the bezel off?
  13. Thanks for the info amespinosa. I understand the insert is ceramic but I still want to change it because I just don't like it. Any idea if that bezel will come off and if so how it comes off? Any idea if this thing will take a gen crystal so I can drop in one with an AR cyclops? I also love the design of the Sub, I was just very disappointed in the quality of this rep compared to the other reps I've received. It felt and looked fake.
  14. I purchased my first Rolex Rep and I have to say I was extremely disappointed. I got the ProHunter Blk Ceramic Bezel Submariner on the bracelet from Josh. This was my first Rolex and I absolutely love the quality and finish of the other reps I bought but this thing has problems. Questions: 1. Can you take the bezel off this thing? The black ceramic insert on the PVD looks terrible and basically plastic and I want to swap it for something with a little color. This is a FNoob Factory Product and Josh's website says the bezel has the same rotating mechanism as the original. I know on some reps you can't remove the bezel but does anyone know where this rep falls? Any pointers on how to get it off? I already watched a few YouTube videos but I can assure you this thing is on there seriously and wedging something in there doesn't work. I already dented the case trying to pry it off. 2. Will this take a gen crystal? The lack of AR on the cyclops is awful and I also think the cyclops is misaligned over the date window. It would be easier to read the date with no cyclops. I know "Big Crown" has made some double AR coated replacement crystals and it is a must for me if it will fit. 3. What's the best way to fix the misalligned date problem? The dates 1-14 are ok but get progressively worse going up to about 27. I know there is an overlay that people use. Is it that simple? Does anyone have a link where I can get an overlay? All in all my first Rolex rep and my first disappointing rep. I now appreciate why people go to TC and BK for Rollies. If this is the only alternative than no one would get Rolex reps. at all. I wouldn't recommend this rep to anyone but in fairness I will say the lume is amazing and the 2836 really makes the second hand sweep nicely. Other than that I struggle to find anything....the bracelet is certainly never going to be used. Thanks in advance guys.
  15. All the reps basically come from the same factories. The various websites are run by brokers that all deal the same stuff from the factories to us. All different brokers may have access to different watches, for the most part they are all dealing the same watches. Some people choose to shop around and buy from which ever broker has the best deal and others choose to always purchase from the same broker to establish a relationship in case something goes wrong in the transaction i.e. the watch is lost in transit. There are lots of trusted brokers and associated websites, read up. Josh is the nickname for the broker that runs perfect clones
  16. No it's the same wheel. It's the 60s chronograph wheel but it has a little spring that juts off of it and flips the 30m wheel 1 min with each revolution.
  17. Hey all, I'm desperately trying to fix my poor Ebel 1911. I need a new or used Chronograph wheel 60s, 30 min for the asian 7750. The ETA part number is CS No. 35.010. If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it. The ETA part number is available on Ebay for $21, however, I don't think I can use the ETA version because I believe the stem sizes are different. If anyone can confirm or deny that, that would also be helpful. Thanks in advance
  18. +1 for losing concentration. Geezus H Christ in a chicken basket that girl is smokin hot. I think I'll put the all silver day date on her.
  19. Also a degree in Physics and I +1 the nothing to worry about.
  20. Yeah, did some research last night and no Saphire crystal. Any idea how bad the mineral glass one is? Does it just look terrible, like plastic or something?
