  1. From the above posted pictures, it goes 3,1,2. They are really just different manufacturers that became available in that order. Regards.
  2. >>Do YOU know anybody who even knows that there is a Lange watch company??...Shoot...I spent most of my >>adult career in the banking and yachting business, and NEVER even saw(or heard of) one till I started visiting >>TimeZone in 1994.... >>Actually, I've been an active watch collector since then, And I have only seen 1 real one!!!... biggrin.gif >>biggrin.gif biggrin.gif I guess I just live in the wrong neighborhood. I have way too many friends who could tell the difference on a Lange. Regards.
  3. Here is a picture of my 3rd gen... Regards.
  4. I happen to own all three generations of the tourbillon. Here are some comments... 1st generation - looks good, but very poor quality. You will be lucky to get six months. It was my watch that The Zigmeister always commented on. Price ~ $600 2nd generation (as in the new skeleton versions) - these are pretty good quality (The Zigmeister approved :-) and very nice watches. They look like the first gen, but are actually different manufacture. They are not "true" tourbillons, but the full escapement rotates and no one can tell the difference. Price ~ $800 - ~1200 3rd generation (center post) - these are unbelievably outstanding- as good as any Breguet quality and "true" tourbillons. My local Lange & Breguet AD went over it (I was looking for a strap) and was astounded. He and his watchmaker spent 20 minutes with it. I bought an unmarked version and they thought I had paid $50K for it. Price ~ $2000 - $4500 Because of the price (and associated delivery risk), I think it will be hard to get a group buy. Regards.
  5. I happen to own both the VC (rose and stainless) and the Lange. The VC chronograph is a great watch. The silver is correct for the hands and hour markers. The Lange is also beautiful and very high quality finish, but the subdial location is incorrect. Anyone who knows Lange would instantly know it is a rep. That being said, I prefer the Lange, it has a bigger and more solid feel. It is so good, that I am looking into having the Lange markings removed and making it a generic chronograph. Hope that helps. Regards.
  6. The problem is that the masses are not capable of realizing greatness... or... An addiction is an addiction. Regards.
  7. Skw.net has a very poor reputation with all of the watch sites. You can search all of them. I had been thinking of buying a watch from them, but passed given the poor reviews. I would be careful. Regards.
  8. Beautiful watch, but the strap looks a little big for it. Regards.
  9. The alignment is slightly annoying. I have thought of trying to have it redone. Regards.
  10. @ubiquitous - Here you go... Regards. My replacement movement New watch
  11. Since The Zigmeister is out for the summer, I thought I would chime in. It was my tourbillon that The Zigmeister has always discussed. Always wanting a tourbillon, but not wanting to spend $40K, I bought the first generation. I paid about $800. The dial and movement looked so good, I even had the case gold plated by Artisan plating (those of you know both how good they are and how long it takes). It worked for about 3 months and then stopped working. The Zigmeister tried everything (and it even became a challenge for him). He never found anything wrong, but in the end the quality of the movement was just too fragile. He strongly recommend I give up my persuit. But The Zigmeister still had the case, so I started searching for a replacement movement. I found one that The Zigmeister & I thought was a match, purchased it and sent it to The Zigmeister. This newer version is of much higher quality. The Zigmeister believes that it will be much more reliable. The only problem is that the stem is deeper than the old movement, so it didn't work in the case. Now, my gold case, beautiful Breguet dial, brand new tourbillon movement and old broken one sit in one of The Zigmeister's boxes. Then Eddie came out with the Skeleton version tourbillon(now everyone has it). I couldn't help myself and bought the first one. I have had it about six months with no problems. It is very beautiful, but has one problem. The hands are off center, but the hour marker (and white ring) are designed for a center hand placement, hence in the 3 and 9 positions the hands are off location. Hope that helps. Regards.
  12. Pretty poor... Well at least he will now be remembered...
  13. Go for an asian 212 and have it relumed and cleaned. Good quality, 5 ATM tested and accurate to 12 sec/day. I have them all (plus a couple of real PAM's) and I keep coming back to the 212. BTW... The Zigmeister did the work for me. Regards.

    Very nice... Regards.
  15. Maybe too many posts....
  16. Be careful. This is a guy who sells a lot of fake rolex bridges and dials. They are very high quality, but not authentic. My guess is that it is a real val 72 with the rolex markings added. Regards.
  17. I have to agree with Willith. This is a fun hobby, but no one should ever be "tricked"; buying a rep when they paid for a real watch. Regards.
  18. It looks great as a dress watch. I have mine with a dark brown alligator from the watch boys. Regards.
  19. Very nice job!!! Regards.
  20. Something more complicated this week. Regards.
  21. Just use a light coating of Baseball glove oil and let it dry overnight. One coating is about a month of the sun. Regards.
