  1. Just made it as it's still Sunday night here on the wcconus. Took this shot as the chargers were taking down the raiders...
  2. That depends on how skilled you are at removing hands from a movement, which is the toughest part. I'm sure there are some how-to threads around. Just don't use tweezers, get yourself a pair of proper hand removers.
  3. I love that pearl. I've seen a lot of pearls on the 16800s look like that. The insert for my 16800 is a factory original for the 16800 but it will take years to patina like that. It's interesting how they turn a brownish color, I really dig it!
  4. Probably so, I think z80 was the seller. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I don't think I even had a sub at the time. It's one of those things, very fortunate. Same with the tw classic sub I got shortly after. There were some great deals floating around here about a year or two ago when the forums weren't as big as they are now. When you could still find a used tw for $150 sitting. With the member count what it is and the excitement surrounding some of these watches, now the good stuff usually goes within minutes. But yes, the hunt is much of the fun. This sub was such a challenge to put together and there was so much trial and error. I can say that I owe much of the credit to The Zigmeister, he spent many hours on this sub and I know it gave him a headache. But the end result is a one of a kind to me and is something I'll keep for a long time.
  5. The dial is gen too, I was lucky enough to score it from a fellow member a while back.
  6. Just got my new Nikon last week and decided to take a few pictures, nothing too exciting but pics are always fun.
  7. Most likely the answers to many of the questions you'll have can be found on TZ including perhaps some of the same models up for sale which will give you a price point. I think there were some Speedy reduced threads floating around here and some of our members have them. Good luck!
  8. Here is my first and only breitling. I'm aware of it's inaccuracies but I picked it up for a great deal and I love it. My only Ti too, nice and light...have to look down to make sure it's still on. And check out the ar, the best I've seen on any rep. I got this watch second hand for dirt cheap and I'll probably never part with it. My first quartz rep too...shhhhh!!!
  9. You 3 are setting the bar high with those beautiful pics...
  10. Oh man, I'd love to make it but I'll be out of town (belated honeymoon). Perhaps I can convince my wife to reschedule...jk. I attend the last SoCal GTG up in Laguna that took place about a year ago...I tried to organize one down here in San Diego recently but not enough interest. It's definitely better to do it in the middle of SD & LA. I'll be down for the next one which hopefully will take place sooner than later.
  11. Thank you guys for your advice. I actually picked up the D40 yesterday from Circuit City. I just had to have it and they are one of the few places that had them in stock, everyone has the D40x now. Anyway, it appears to be a great camera...haven't really had an opp to use it though. I've had a Nikon N55 for about 3 years now and have probably used it 3 times, pulled it out of the case yesterday and it's like brand new. I bought it to get into SLR photography but it can get expensive if you're learning with 35mm film and don't have access to a dark room. This digital SLR will be much better for learning.
  12. I'm leaning towards the Nikon D40, any thoughts?
  13. 12/14...should have taken my time
  14. I'm in the market for a starter digital SLR and have been looking for a good & reputable online site that might offer deeper discounts than say, Circuit City. I've found some sites like ExpressCameras.com with prices that seem too good to be true. Are there any sites that come highly recommended? thanks
  15. The tt reps are beautiful...very stunning actually. I had one briefly but decided gold is not for me. If you can wear gold, this watch is for you.
  16. Surprisingly enough, my wife and I were getting ready to go out a couple weeks ago and as we're getting ready, I notice she's got my 112 on her wrist. I had to grab the camera...
  17. It seems like she needs to grow into that bra
  18. Beautiful, just ordered mine from Silix.

    UPO

If you're referring to the textured area surrounding the horse on the case back, it's probably not as defined as the gen or perhaps even some 'earlier' versions of the UPO. Is it a give away? Not in my opinion. Is it a reason not to buy the watch? I don't think so. The inner portion of my case back already has a few light scratches and I imagine with wear, the texture will become dull/scratched anyway.
  20. Thanks, Unfortunately I'm going to have to sell it though...definitely will not fit my wrist as it's standard length. It's great to support the forum though.
  21. Can anyone verify the length of the 22mm rubber strap for the planet ocean, gen or rep? Silix had said at one point that his were 127x80 which would probably just fit me. The reason I ask is because my wrists are 8.5" and I cannot wear standard size straps but really want a rubber strap for my UPO. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks
  22. case came from Bombay

    UPO

I agree. The threads are questionable. Doesn't really affect the appearance of the watch but it's very tough to screw in. Just have to be super careful when screwing in...always back 3/4 turn, then slowly forward. We'll see how long it lasts. Has anyone installed a gen tube/crown?

    UPO

The UPO is from Precious Time. Communication was good. The processing of the order (from when funds were received to when watch shipped) was just over a week. From when the watch shipped to when it was on my wrist was amazing...shipped on the 9/3, on my wrist 9/6. I was quoted 14 days and he made it happen in 13, I'll take it.

    UPO

You're right dluddy, for a metal bracelet, the UPO is as comfortable as they come. I love the look of omegas on straps though...very classic looking.
