nice watch but the non lug holes is pretty much a deal breaker imo. 14060s have to be one of the hardest watches to rep considering the parts needed and the lack of variance in the model. You'd think it be easy but think again. A tw classic case is needed and a gen dial is next to impossible to come by. 99% of the rep dials are [censored]...Angus had one a while back that was decent. Not saying it can't be done but I lack the patience and willingness to put forth the funds considering the gen can be had for $2.5k. Also keep in mind the different case/dial size.
I've owned a Tissot seastar 1000 black dial with the bracelet for nearly 2 years and love it. No problems with it gaining time, flooding, or anything else. I do also love the Oris though. My friend was looking to buy his first watch about a month ago and I helped him buy an Oris TT1 from Timezone. Both watches are great bang for the buck watches. I believe the lugs on the TT1 are 24mm...so you can swap straps with your pams if you want to.
Of course this is not a new sd and is no where near perfect. This is the same watch Joshua was selling several months back and the same that EL and River have been selling for years. Same case, same hev, same pearl, same watch. Sort of comical really. I had one of these and sold it for $150 a while ago. There is nothing new (perfect) here whatsoever.
Any opinions or recommendations on top grade gator straps. I know Europelli carries a nice grade 1 gator strap but I need a long length, say 130/85. Europelli has 130/75 but unfortunately that won't work for me. Pics would be great too. Oh year, this is for pams. Thanks
I've been thinking for a while now that we need to plan another SoCal GTG so I'm taking the initiative in starting this thread to gauge interest. I'd like to put something together in the San Diego area. Perhaps the 1st of April or some time after Easter weekend. If there is just a couple of us, that's fine but if there's more that's even better. Please post your thoughts.
first pic is obviously taken from google images or something...his link to the actual watch for sale looks good to me...saw this a couple days ago and thought the same thing
It sounds like you may have some issues with the stem...but the seconds hand should still be moving while you set the watch...it's a non hacking movement. Post this in The Zigmeister's section.
This is my main concern, having enough room for my watches. It seems like most watch boxes are made for dress watches and not sport watches with bigger cases and straps...Can any one comment on a substantial box stateside?
Looking for a nice quality watch box for 4-5 watches that won't cost an arm & a leg (under $100). I received one for Christmas last year but there wasn't enough clearance under the lid for my watches lol. Any suggestions would help...there are obviously tons out there but the quality is somewhat of a crapshoot. Thanks
I have used a Sony DSC-P72 for all of my photos on this forum...including the picture in my signature. It's an older camera but has served it's purpose and took decent photos. Unfortunately I lost it this last weekend while I was out of town and consuming more than my fair share of alcoholic beverages...so I went shopping this last weekend. I wound up with the Cannon A540 which I got from Circuit City as an open box special...$179. This camera has great reviews and the price is perfect for a good point and shoot. Try www.cnet.com for digital camera reviews.
I'm afraid if you're looking for a gen serti dial for a sub, $600 would be a steal...if you want anything of quality. Anything less would be suspect, IMO.
Just adding to what's been said above, great straps with a true quality vintage feel to them. I have the XI in tan and it's unreal. I also have a Gef bersagliere and that is a wonderful strap too. I'll post pics when I get home.
