  1. Wonderful collection. Wear them well. RG
  2. Looks great, I love that strap. Wear it well. RG
  3. Your best solution, is to replace the rotor. Glue can and will probably end up somewhere it shouldn't...and simply replacing the rotor solves all your problems...and doesn't create new ones. PM me if you need help. RG
  4. What a great looking watch, so nice to see something that stands out from the norm. Great job, congrats. RG
  5. If you mean by removing the letters...they are held in place with glue that has the consistancy of sticky notes...they come right off... RG
  6. Find a different watchmaker...your being taken for a ride... Modern movements have hairsprings that are NON-Magnetic...so your problem has nothing to do with magnetisme. It sounds like your hairspring is touching a couple of coils, fix involves removing the cap jewel, the balance and c0ck, immersing them in one-dip, drying it off, and reassembling it again. Total time, less than 15 minutes... RG
  7. I remember you...or was it your avitar...anyway... Welcome back, hope your feeling better. RG
  8. I still think the cannon pin is bad, due to your description of the problem, and the fact that this is such a common problem on the A7750. I am not sure what the best option is... RG
  9. The cannon pin (actually it's a gear on this model) has failed. A common problem on all the Asian 7750's, new and old. During servicing I always test and and stake them so they don't fail. You can confirm this by trying to set the time, if you don't feel any resistance, the cannon pin is the problem. RG
  10. Of course you can send an email to J, not a problem, we will continue to update everyone on email as we always have when we are finished the work, and of course let you choose the shipping method you want etc... or send you a message if we have a question... I am not referring to normal expected emails and messages, but those that cross the line and become a burden. RG
  11. I have changed my email address on a regular basis, that doesn't help as I normally keep the old address forwarded to the new one, for the sake of older established clients... I have a new system in place for emails, if my associate doesn't get the new email address from me, she doesn't answer it. Done to avoid exactly what lordrasta points out above... To add insult to injury, the 135+ email fellow accused me of "...rushing him, and not giving him enough information to make an informed decision..." whew, some days I wonder. Anyway that's it from me for the weekend, time to clean up and take my associate out for dinner. RG
  12. Due to changes at work and various commitments at home, (as well as spending far too much time here), I have to limit my participation on RWG. At best I expect to be able to spend a bit of time here a few days per week, on the weekends I won't be logging in at all. I can't be acting as a consultant on PM or Emails for anyone anymore. These types of messages are getting way out of hand - again, and the only solution I know of, is to ignore them. Some members (once they get my email address), hound me and my assistant to no end, in the high double and even triple digits of messages asking for my input on everything you can imagine, ...it's really getting to be a huge burden on our time. What starts out as being polite and lending a hand, turns into a monster. The worse was over 135 emails over 6 months for a simple job and the return of a broken watch (the owner decided to NOT have me fix it). To make matters worse, after it was all said and done and we returned the watches, the owner emailed my associate and crapped on her for returning his broken watch, which still didn't work! I will try and offer help with topics that interest me on the forum, mainly repair and tech questions. We have also updated our capabilities list, (no price increases!), everything you need to know about us is covered in detail, the goal is that the pdf doc will avoid having to answer so many questions relating to our services. Keep in mind that there is a difference between consulting questions, and normal expected questions regarding work you may need done, or options, or clarification on certain things. Thanks for your understanding. RG
  13. There is no adjustment for datewheels, it sits where it sits, the spring is in a fixed position. Loosening the screw only removes the cover... RG
  14. The problems I have with these models are the lack of clearance between the dial and the individual hands. They all have to be right up against the dial and each other to clear and fit correctly. With a loupe and the correct tools, not impossible to do, but certainly not the easiest model to do either. I did run into some serious problems with the stem alignment on one of these, but others have not had any troubles. Difficulty is hard to judge, it depends on your experience and skill. If you do the swap, make sure to get rid of that extra silicone, or the problem will only come back... RG
  15. I have done the swap from a 2836-2 to a 2893-2 a number of times, only on PAM"s though, and wouldn't you know it, I just finished doing this very swap on a PAM 063. No problems encountered at all, nothing... You need a new GMT hand, and of course a new stem, but the rest is identical...and it all fits together just fine. Of all the ones I did in the past, no reports of problems, so I assume they are all running fine. RG
  16. I have seen this stain, it's an over use of silicone...as you wear the watch and it gets warmed up, the silicone melts and stains the dial. You can clean it off with rodico and only have to remove the case front to do the job. Clean the dial and case front and o'ring, and put the case front back in place when your done. RG
  17. All the info is here: https://secure.eta.ch/CSP/DesktopDefault.as...=3&tabid=28 RG
  18. You Sir, are too kind...and very welcome. I am so glad I could help you out RG
  19. I don't think it's a big step in any direction for this "new" movement. The Breitling Bently already has the date function with two wheels in the "12" position, making this into a 7751 with the date and month is only a matter of gearing. As for the moon phase, all that consists of is a new gear with the moon painted on it, driven by the center hour wheel, not a big modification. They have already turned the Asian 7750 into a quazi 7753, made it into a running seconds at 6 model, then into a running seconds at 3 model, then into a GMT model, and a non chrono on some models, so I see this as simply a continuous change to the already proven Asian 7750. Turning this movement into a 7751 is far less intensive than the other mods they have already done, so I don't think it's breaking new ground, nor is it going to have running or reliability issues. Although I don't like the watch it's installed in, I think they are ugly. RG
  20. Normal on many models... if it's loose and you can get your finger nails under the edge, try gentling lifting it up, and turning it with your finger nails, sometimes this works... RG
  21. So what grade do you figure we are getting in our reps? (keeping in mind that it varies and most ETA's are surplus) RG
