  1. I think dealers fees should be cut or done away with in exchange for their offering exclusive deals or first bites at new stock to supporters. Thus the dealers will indirectly finance the board by members wanting to upgrade to see what the best offers are. Incentives all round. Carrot rather than stick!
  2. The Bijoux Terner thing is actually quite cute I thought, but what's that going on at the bottom of the crystal?! Did you forget that it was the Garfield that you are supposed to fill with water??!
  3. Was that taken on the banks of Loch Lomond JTB?! Must have been cold that day......?!
  4. WTF is this... "Italian Charm"??!! The closest this tat got to Italy was 30,000 feet above as the 'plane passed over from Tatsville..

    Oh Nooooo

Ooooh, that is lovely!! The pearl isn't at all bad. In fact I'd say it is the best rep Omega pearl I have seen so far. Good to see a return to the 5-piece end links also, but they still can't seem to pop that bezel insert in right. No worries about the He valve as on this particular model it is supposed to line up with the 10 marker. I'd have one of these if (a) I wasn't already in love with my TAG Link chrono and ( it's a bit too similar to my regular SMP to justify a high place on the wish-list.
  6. (and so my campaign for rep makers to expand their repertoir of movements gains another boost) Unfortunately not the case. TAG reps used the bastard 7750 or Quartz..
  7. How about this... Access to trading area restricted to Supporters only on the basis that approved dealers posting there offer exclusive prices. I'm not sure if dealers currently pay a fee for their trading areas, but if so this fee should be reduced or recinded completely as they will be indirectly supporting the board through their discounts?! If access to the trading area was restricted while the same prices and availability info was being carried on the dealers' websites then when word gets out about that there'll be no incentive to sign up. Also, the dealers without websites will suffer from lack of exposure as a result. The temptation of exclusive deals and discounts will bring people running and avoid the issue of dealers without websites being 'screened out'. Has that been suggested already?
  8. That is some generic digital calendar/clock with a screen printed plastic overlay and a bubble-badge on the back. Probably genuine marketing tat, but to pay that for it is plain nuts. Find the base clock (probably some Chinese thing) and you could make this yourself for a few $$'s.
  9. You are kidding aren't you No Daytona has a rotating bezel. The subdials look frozen too. Completely worthless, not even useful as spares.
  10. Never was there a more appropriate use of that smiley!!
  11. Mark has commissioned pattern datewheels with the correct Panerai font. These datewheels fit the Valjoux 7753 movement but will not fit this version of the 7750 with the transfer gears to mimic 7753 subdials. Technically it is still a 7750 as by removing the transfer gear you are left with a 7750. Presumably the rep makers start with the same base movement and then modify them accordingly (as is the case with thr 2836 modified to look like a GMT) which is probably where the misnomer occurs.
  12. Don't want to nit-pick, but that will play straight into the hands of the scammers who are selling this movement as a replacement for the 7753 (quick search on ebay will let you see what I mean). There are many many 7753 based watches that will not accept this bastard 7750 (my chosen term) as it will be too thick for the case and the datewheel and pushers will be misaligned. Also, this may confuse people into buying parts like Mark/Finepics replacement PAM datewheels for 7753 expecting them to fit this movement, which they won't. If anything it should be referred to as Asian 7753 look-alike, although modified 7750 (as that is the base movement) is probably the least likely to cause problems.
  13. So maybe they should stop trying to graft the bastard 7750 movement into these reps and instead concentrate on making a rep of the chrono module for the 2892 and a rep El Primero movement. Then the problem would magically.............disappear.
  14. Dissing all Asian movements is a bit like dissing all reps in the same way the Paneristi do. The Seagul ST-18 and ST-25 movements are every bit the match of the ETA 2892 they shamelessly imitate. The latest Asia 7750 is as (un)reliable as its Valjoux counterpart.
  15. Same as this guy (the watch, sadly not the woman......)
  16. What, like the same way George Bush snr. 'bitchslapped' Saddam Hussain? The majority of Americans are so force fed their own [censored] that they have no hope of even approaching an understanding of the truth. Simple fact is that the world is a more hostile place thanks to the current administration's handling of foreign policy. 'UBL' (if I think I know who you are talking about) is almost certainly dead, but the threat of him being alive is a more powerful weapon for Bush jnr. than any so called bitchslapping. Problem is you don't seem to get that, but just keep living in fear and handing over your freedoms.....
  17. Depends on the watch. Two of the best reps around - TAG Link chrono and 'old factory' Omega Seamaster Pro - are praised for the quality of their bracelets. Another is the titanium IWC Gst.
  18. There is no difference - they beat the same. 2892 has a better quality rotor bearing and a slimmer design, but there ain't much else between them. Also the datewheels should be 100% intercheangeable between 2824 and 2892-A2.
  19. I have the parts waiting her to do EXACTLY that...
