That is a good looking Longines. I have a weakness for a nice blue dial. I am a big fan of the Tropic straps too.

Thanks aeromatic. My insert fit the bezel, but was too tight to fit around the crystal. I had to trim the inner edge a bit to get it to fit. I do need to PM JMB and see if he will engrave my caseback, but mine is all kinds of scratched up.

I built mine from a 1680 I bought from Sora / Shine Watch. I started with an A2824, but I have since installed an ETA 2824-2. I'm on my second dial, because the first one was just too light blue. I also added a Yuki rotor. The insert is from ebay, and I had to shave it down to fit the bezel. I am still looking for an engraved caseback. I bought a new watch case as an early Christmas present to myself. It's a Tech Swiss Black Aluminum Briefcase and I really like it so far. It's very solid and holds 25 watches. Here are a few pictures with my current collection.
