DSSD modded/finished. Many thanks SSTeel (Micky)
astonjenks replied to astonjenks's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Guys Indeed Legend I believe I saw yours and said when we next mod mine it must go 'red' :-) Mike, this indeed did start as the blue/black dial that I bought at a crazy price, however has gone through at least two iterations since! She's on her way to me, more photos to follow! Regards AJ -
After some time and a number of personal variations, Micky has completed my latest version of Noobs DSSD. Micky is an artist without question and the list of what he has done is as follows: Transplanted a NOS Swiss ETA movement (RADO) Replaced original dial with fully relumed dial, hands and pearl to match (red second hand personal option which I love!) Removed and double AR Coated crystal DWO from TC Waterproofed Timed to within a second of her life to COSC standards I am delighted how she looks, the entire project and would liek to publicly thank you Micky for your sterling work. Regards AJ

Looks great, these are a good watch and a lot of us 'time served' guys normally advise having these serviced to ensure longevity and good timekeeping once you get her and know she's a keeper! AJ -

When will we see decent gator or croc straps on reps?
astonjenks replied to gasebah's topic in General Discussion
Only if we are all prepared to pay an additional $100 or more on the initial cost! I always go to OEM on reps of great quality and sometimes aftermarket such as Orloff and Peter who are both brilliant. The attached is an Orloff on my modded Fiddy and it is simply awesome and as I have said many times before, a good watch becomes a great watch with the right strap :-) Regards AJ -
This just arrived and after a quick AJ polish is on the wrist, let's see how I get on with her :-) AJ

Understood Mike and I totally agree, if you are buying 'open market' from folks you do not know you must protect yourself, this works both ways of course. AJ

Mike I will not take anything but PP gift as my reputation and standing speak for themselves, if a new guy with no track record buys from me and doesn't use PP gift Im not selling as they can cry 'foul'' after the event and I lose my watch/s and money! THere must be exceptions to the statement as it is not about the fee! Regards AJ

Agreed with SSTeel, stay with our TD's as you will have the support of the entire community, these guys are Trusted TD's over the years for a good reason. Search the various areas and if Rolex is your thing, read and learn, it will enlighten you no end and you can buy, at a very reasonable cost a watch that you will be delighted with I am sure.
