  1. No afraid not. The proportions of the rep aren't the same as the gen. I believe the rep dial is slightly larger, even on the updated version of the watch (correct me if I'm wrong). Also the date window is set a little too far left. I was hoping that it wasn't an overlay, as I prefer the black datewheel. Which wouldn't have been a problem to swap out if it was located where the standard ETA datewheel would be. Maybe I'll go for the dateless version, even with it's inaccuracies instead.
  2. Anyone know if the datewheel on the SM300 that Josh sells is the standard ETA version or an overlay? I'm thinking of getting one and swapping the white dw for black one. (I know the position is wrong compared to the gen, however, I'm still tempted).
  3. Thanks Peter, great offer. I've already ordered another one from you so let's see how that goes first. Your printer must be pulling his hair out with these micro tolerances.
  4. My DWO arrived safe and sound. Thanks Peter Here are some shots of it installed on my 1665. The quality is certainly better than the rep DW. However, still an effort to get it aligned correctly in the window, some numbers sit better than others.
  5. Thanks It's not actually a relume, just tea to stain the markers, together with a few seconds (20 to 30) under a halogen lamp. Then a very thin topcoat of matt varnish. I'm sure you'd be able to do it too.
  6. Thanks. Yeap, you're right. I haven't found a decent 60 min insert at a reasonable price. Most even have the wrong number of minute markers too. Below a NOS beauty a I saw for €11.5 k, a little out of my price range Just look at those serifs ... Alternative would be a decent 5513 insert...

  8. Here's my 5517 done on a budget. Bought this one from Puretime (Angus). Then modded it with an ingod44 dial, T19 crystal and reshaped the crown guards. Also added an insert I found on the bay. Then aged everything slightly. To finish off, a NATO strap from Phoenix, the original MOD supplier. With a gen...
  9. Thanks Freddy. What's the tell on the hands? What hands are best for an ETA?
  10. Great suggestion. I think that's what I'll do - shave a little off the base of the crown.
  11. Thanks, I suspected as much. Great 5512 you have there too!
  12. Thanks And thanks for the tip!
  13. Anyone know if a 702 crown will fit to a 703 tube? I still find the 703 crown a little high for the cartel's stubby CGs.
  14. Here's mine from Angus (PT) with an ETA 2846 movement. I think for the price it's one of better out-of-the-box solutions. It has the correct case and markings (the Josh/Cartel (PC) version doesn't, it uses the incorrect SD case, which is much thicker than the 5513). I've lightly aged the case, dial and hands. Also added a T19 crystal. Installed an insert I picked up on the bay, as the PT one had one too many minute markers, e.g. after the "50" it had 4 instead of the correct 3. It‘s now on an Admiralty Grey NATO strap from Phoenix, who supplied the MOD with the originals. Next mod will be the dial, NDT is too expensive for me, so I'm waiting for Yuki to re-stock their vintage lume version. (btw. If anyone has one knocking around, please let me know – thanks )
  15. Thanks, believe it or not on the bay
  16. Josh (PC) Cartel 5513 lightly aged Singer dial T19 crystal Drilled lugs 580 end links 703 crown and tube ETA 2836
  17. Really nice, but the cartel insert has 1 too many minute markers between the numerals compared to the gen.
  18. What's going on between the "20" and "21"? In your photo the "2s " look very different from each other.
