  1. Yes, he probably eyeballed you and whatever combination of age and other impressions he took into account, decided that your watch could not be real. It happens . . . if I'm at Vegas and an 18-year old is wearing a PM Daytona and buying in at a 10-dollar table I'm going to assume the watch is fake. Now I wouldn't make an issue of it, but it's just common sense.

    Nothing else to say.

    I counldn't agree more !

I'm in the fourties and when going out in trendy parties or places, driving a nice car, I allways get positive reactions: "wow, what a nice watch you're wearing".

    What do I do ?

I say "thanks" and start a discussion on something else or, eventually, move to another group of people after saying "thanks, sorry, I need to speak to a fellow, I'll be back".

If someone would say "Hey you! yeah you! Your watch is fake". I would walk away to another group of people and just ignore that ass****.

If he follows me ? I would wisper to him "Hey Lee Major, don't tell me you can spot a fake watch from that distance when you can't even spot my little coc* that I want to stic* in your little as*"

I learned this from my current boss: when you are in a difficult situation, just assume what would make the other feeling like sh*t and tell him/her. They will run away and let you breath.

    Hope this helps :Jumpy:

    Cheers

  2. Welcome to the board. My advice is, upgrade your membership, for a small token amount, you will have access to an area that allows you to see and choose for yourself. Do you have any type of Breitling in mind?

    @b16a2

    Am I missing something here b16a2 ?

Is this thread going to be a 10 pages one without any contribution to the board ?

The above quoted reply is your best advice to sixbennetts !

    @sixbennetts

    Hi Donny,

You are welcome here like everybody is ! So, warm welcome to you.

I'm a noob but became a VIP member asap.

Honestly, never before I became a VIP for as low as 30$ a year which is the shipping cost of one watch only !

This helped me very much on one hand and helped the board on the other.

Can I say it again, like b16a2 : "upgrade your membership, for a small token amount, you will have access to an area that allows you to see and choose for yourself"

Also, like anything else in life: patience is a virtue !

    Cheers

  3. I don't really care how long it takes for the watch to get here.

    Hi Marc,

    I wouldn't worry at all.

And, what you say about not really caring how long it takes is a prove of intelligence.

We are in a totally illegal hobby aren't we.

So, the only thing that should matter is that the watch lands safely on your wrist.

    Rather later than never !

I am pretty sure every single collector you can find here will ALLWAYS send (or dropship maybe) your watch.

Bear in mind that we're dealing with another type of culture also than we are used to: you seem to be from Europe, they are not (some exceptions though): Asia is another planet.

I dealt with Asian collectors in the past and got tons of mails "yeah" " don't worry" "watch will dispatch" "ok friend" ....it did never make the watch be delivered faster.

Some arrived in 5 working days, some in 5 weeks.

    Relax, and keep us posted.

    Cheers

  4. Hello Mr Pix,

Congratulation on your new "sub" addiction for Pams.

I must say that for me too it's on the list for later.

I guess that what still bother me is "I need" date; and date on Pams are a serious concern.

Anyway, what I really wanted to say about your topic is that you can really capture the beauty of the watch in your pictures. :clap2:

I love them very much and will try to imitate you...

    Cheers

  5. Hi All,

I have an addiction (I confess :animal_rooster: ) for several brands, among which, Omega.

I own 4 of them and, toghether with Rolex, I would like to expand my collection.

I was looking at various Aquaterra gen and rep (non chrono) on the net and cannot spot the flawless one.

I really like this 2802.33 that can be seen HERE

I read By-Tor's reviews and the TRC ones...but still feeling like asking the following question in may 2007!

Is there anybody who can share their experience on finding the right rep of this model ?

    Cheers

  6. No I don't doubt you, I was just curious to see the movement.

    Does it look like Staphane's?

Hmmm, you still seem to doubt Ryan, and you should not. :o

Richard is trustable to me...and to a lot of long time members of RWG which is a kind of "certificate".

    So if he says it's a 2824 it is for sure a 2824 ! :D

Now if you want to have more details about the Eta mvts here is a great link: www.eta.ch

If it's pictures of Eta Mvts you're looking for, I suspect there are at least a 1.000 pics available here right now.

Do not hesitate to ask though...that is the meaning of this place and why it is so great :thumbsupsmileyanim:

    Kind regards,

    Stephane

  7. Congrats El.

The soft light makes it very desirable.

I read some threads about this watch and would be gratefull if YOU could give your opinion.

I'm in no way wanting to become a Cartier collector but I wouldn't mind getting a Santos 100.

Do you think they are very accurate now or should one wait for the PerfUltLatestGeneration that will probably come out with other flaws one day :nerd:

    Cheers
