  1. Thanks for your advice guys. I hear what you say: it might be a recased, so a franken in other words. And the fact everything is so pristine is of course ...weird !
  2. Well some people knowing I like watches come to me with "exceptional" pieces... The guy who came to me with this one is not that "type" of man. But still, I'm more than convinced this is a "franken". So unless the mvt is worth the money, I don't see myself going for it...
  3. Well TJ, I appreciate you think "I" work on my watches. It's not the case at all. I have not an once of talent in that field. I'll try to isolate myself from work and put a review toghether asap. But, in short, this is a TooMuchGear/Vlydog/MysteryModder collaboration...and at no stage I did something to the watch myself. Oh...yeah, I will probably scratch it even more ...that is my very own talent
  4. Thanks TJ...It was a long long term project ....and I'm still missing a correct Orange hand
  5. @Asim: the case is 43 MM (I suppose crown included). I didn't yet see it in the flesh. I wonder if this isn't a very very old watch (1920s?) ...it looks like it's a pocket watch that became a wrist watch...
  6. I didn't have the opportunity to take photos yet... But this is what I am wearing today
  7. Dear all, I'm totaly ignorant in a lot of brands...and when it comes to this, I don't even know what to think about it My first reaction is ... But then, the movement looks great. Can you guys help me to understand if this is a good deal @ 1.000
  8. I cannot quote every post but there are some great come back and a lot of wonderfull photos and watches !!! I love your photos Bazz But you know that already ...one of them is my wallpaper. It's so good to see you active again Not true at all. Keep posting in the wrist checks please Great to see you happy with it BT. It's been a long way but you made it! Wearing this ...again
  9. Great new shot and watch D! I hope the sun is going to illuminate Belgium again so I can shot some more. In the meantime, wore this today ..... And wearing this for the entire week-end Have agreat week-end all ...see you monday
  10. No luck in taking new photos of my new baby...say it is a 1655 In the mean while, I am wearing the 16800 Franken that I sold to a member on the left wrist. I simply love it. It's so convincing ....I wonder if I should have sold it in the end
  11. 1. Do you have some sort of plan for your collection in terms of covering certain categories that interest you? And if so, what are your categories? Initialy I planned to collect all possible reps of the Rolex Submariner Then I moved to build "frankens" of all type of Submariners (5513/1665/1680/16800/16610) Further I felt stupid to look at Rolex only. I started to buy every single watch that I liked. I only have two categories now: 1. Everyday watch 2. Dress watch. I'm not into complications at all. The fact a watch tells me what time it is and what date of course is enough. 2. Do you find yourself drawn to any one brand purposefully or accidentally as I have been that you find makes the best watches to your taste for multiple categories - and as I said do you find that in many cases you only like one watch across a whole line quite frequently? As you might have noticed, I grew up in the hobby and realised my personal line is Rolex Submariners/Sea Dwellers (Oh, really?). So, while moving my other watches, I bought four gens: 16600/16610/16800/16570 replaced by a 16710 which will end to be replaced by a 1680 I have no idea why I cannot appreciate other lines of watches. The only watches I will keep except the Rolex are a UPO, an Ingy and a 3717. Conclusion: 1. I'll continue my Rolex collection (Frankens/gens) 2. I'll get myself a JLC master control (Gen) Cheers Stephane PS: for you Pho ...at least one photo
  12. As all other members: Thanks a lot Francisco It's probably one the best thread ever in the sense it saves the community to buy BS. Now, I wouldn't be too prompt to say it's the dealers who are the first responsible for that...more the factories selling BS to the dealers that resell the BS to us. Therefor dealers should verify what they tell us; we will allways call them out as there will allways be a Francisco to help the community. Thanks again, Stephane
  13. A warm welcome back to a Vet mod from a Noob mod
  14. Still have to work on the photos ...I'll try to do that tonight. Guys, a pitty you weren't there. We had a great week-end in a splendid place. Thanks for putting this toghether Andy !!!

  17. With Laz around ...No chance to get a girl man....I have no idea why (Laz is so ugly) but all the gilrs are around him It must be his charming accent...mine is probably to Froglish
  18. Hi Pix, good to see you back here. I hope you'll post more of your great pics in the wristies in 2009 I saw this one yesterday evening, in Karlovy vary (Karlsbad)...I attest: great looking watch and saw even more models, they are very impressive! Lovely Speedy D. My wrist check today is a bit special. "My name is 16800. . . Rolex 16800" I'm attending the GTG this week-end, and as part of the package we could discover shooting with "real guns". First time for me and god I was very scared but it turned better than I imagine. So, here is my 16800 and a Glock
