Kruzer ...another exceptional automatic PAM ....each one a reference piece for this hobby!!! This is clear proof that good reps just get better with age ...and some good old fashioned attention to detail. I'm sure you will wear this one wel!! Best FGD
-
It's already been said ..."mistakes happen" "these are reps" "it's how the dealer responds that matters"...I'd have kept my "powder dry" for now .. If you had the best interests of the membership in mind - and believed you could "out" a bad dealer it would have had more impact if the dealer had failed to rectify your problems and your reported that experience. Otherwise ...if just seems to be reporting a mistake...which lacks real significance on it's own... Best of luck ...I'm sure this can be sorted in a courteous way $0.02 FGD

Good point well made ...IMHO the new dial IS a step forward and significant achievement by Davidsen....credit is rightfully due .... If Mr D decides to take the right comments on board then the finished product (be that V1, V2 or V7) will be all the better I'm sure ......some of the changes required do seem minor , but I lack full experience to speak knowledgably on these aspects of production. For me , I can see it improving my existing replica greatly and I'm up for it and will support this project ...if only to see it progress to V2,V3 etc....... I have patience for V., 5, 6 and 7 also... FGD

Cheers Chief....you can clearly see the correction work required from this over-lay...no arguments......I guess the rest is up to mr D... FGD

Thanks for your comments guys ....they are a "labour of love" without doubt Estaban - "Too Much" .....what are you trying to say......? That I have a compulsive disorder to make similar watches in pursuit of something so close to gen that I'm satisfied...oh and then get bored and move on to another similar piece ......Hmmm....could be right :-) I think the only way to stop this "addiction" is buy a gen .....but does that mean I'll have a gen "habit" then ??? And what about the modding ......Ziggy will become bored and maybe start putting tiny ships into bottles or something!!! Cheers FGD

Maybe turn it to a 188 for a new look Is it 7753 compatible case set ?.....the latest 188 dial is very good + Lello datewheel - do you need any pieces ? FGD

Looks stunning Kruzer .....bar the pesky " A's" it's got to be as good as they get!!! FGD

Messing about with the camera again and just wanted to show these in a bit more detail 001 Pre A ??..J-Fu/ETA/DSN homage if you like ...but Ziggy has done the work on a DSN dial and it's killer IMHO....on PAV 91 OEM Logo 111- E - ETA/J-Fu set on GEF 24 /22 Waterproof Crocodile and tang ...had the lume done a while ago (not Ziggy) and it's a bit off colour IMHO 005 -G - CN-6497 Been messing about with CG on this one - Ziggy has done a truly amazing job on this dial - on MP Senape 112-H - All my own work..!!! Needs to go to Ziggy for dial font touch up and re-lume - but it's good for now ...DSN dial shrunk to fit std rep case , 2.0mm PALP crown , Sapphire and Ultimate CN 6497-1...I hope these movements are as good as they look ? The strap on this one deserves a special mention ....220 year old russian reindeer that spent some time with the fishes .....and then in the hands of Strap Master V....it's unique - 24/24 - 150/80 with OEM Logo Buckle - you can actually smell the history and heritage and the craftsmanship of the maker is clear for all to see....think it's one of V's best ever straps !!!!! Thanks and apologies as my arch enemy "dust" has struck again in a lot of these photos.... FGD

Good choice V...nice contrast to the 112 - two historically inspired models different case shapes .. Love the Cali dial....amazing lume on those indices ...only prescision from the master... Best

An open letter from Ziggy to the members of RWG.

Big loss to the forum ....all the free info and modding guides are what brought me here in the first place .....searching how to change a cannon pinnion on a PAM ...and getting hooked from having success following Rob's guide... You know the difference between a skilled craftsman and anything else when you get your first watch back from Rob. It's a big shame that there are un-skilled people out there wanting to make a quick buck out of the un-suspecting ....but that's the same in any market where demand outstrips supply... Needs regulating or the board stands for nothing on this... My 2 pence FGD PS - Rob ...you Rule...! -
I'd suggest Angus and go for the CN Ultimate 6497 -E-series...I just received 2 and they are excellent. Correct "Sword" regulator , Incabloc , and flared spokes on the balance wheel......and Hi-beat 21.6 Kbph..!!! The finish looks very very good and whilst I am not sure if these are oiled or regulated professionally ...they keep extremely good time...so far. I'm dropping them into my 118 and 183...!! Cheers FGD

Totally freakin awesome dude..........!! FGD

Looking good on the Dials.....can't wait....-) As far as the straps are concerned .....PAV style is safest bet as has been indicated. Personally a PAV style tan and PVD Logo buckle will look superb on the 202a!! Best FGD

Very nice Rolli....another sublime addition to your collection....!!! FGD

WHat happens when you find The One, The Holy Grail...?

Awesome strap dude ......festive as well as it's 220 year old reindeer hide ....Ho Ho Ho ...!!! FGD -
PAM 027 re-lume, both of them...

I believe that the standard of "perfection" is as much about what the naked eye cannot see...as it is about what can be seen...... Ziggy your unforgiving attention to detail is what keeps me inspired in collecting......seldom does a piece see daylight until you have transformed it. Oh and you've sorted out one or two messes for me along the way ....learning the "hard" way that the skills you "rant" about are not acquired overnight.... Sincerely FGD -
Boomchikkawowow......love the od-skool rarities.....you gotta respect DSN for deivering these and just think of the potential if he makes a new more accurate case/cg combo for the 201/202/203 as planned. Brilliant photos as well......really crisp!! Cheers FGD

Perfection Vaccum...!:-) FGD

Very nice as many have already said ....great looking watch. It's amazing when you consider the price differential and the remaining tiny cosmetic differences vs a gen. A well modded PAM is a very satisfying experience......and addictive...:-) Best FGD
-
Very nice collection JJJ....into the 009 very much....think I'll put one on the 08 list.. FGD

WORD@B....always wanted to be clear on that one ....so a B serial L-Swiss-L 001 has no AR ...? Peace indeed...just joshing on the other forum jibe.....I dip my own toe occassionally but still think this one rules :-) FGD
-
You see ....that's what you get on other forums ....confusion and nonsense.... :-) NO AR on Pre-V watches...in fact not until transitional B series Vendome did AR appear.......I think our resident experts will confirm or deny ... PS : It would be in Davidsens best interest to take note of the comments and pictures - the more correct these new dials are the more watches he will sell....:-) FGD
-
@ Davidsen , Babola + others involved ......Respect ...as they say on the streets.. Are we gonna have a Pre-V Christmas ???? Simon

David ......As this is now taking over my day now :-) ...I want to follow up on the fonts specifically IMHO they do not look as good as your recent previous versions - ideally the print should be thick , bold with more pronounced seriphs than this artwork shows I have attached some very high res images if you can access - apologies if you have seen these already. http://images.antiquorum.com/163/full/513.jpg http://images.antiquorum.com/97/full/103.jpg http://images.antiquorum.com/76/full/284.jpg http://images.antiquorum.com/52/full/89.jpg Regards Simon
