So last week, I accidentally put a watch in my "cart" on eBay instead of adding it to my "watch list". I had a few things this weekend that I bought, and I didn't notice that one of them was a watch. So today, I get a package that I wasn't expecting...and inside is a "Gallet Multichron 12" with a nice note from the seller. Whoops! A little research on it, and low-and-behold, it appears that I have a pretty cool watch here. http://www.galletworld.com/gallet_watch_multichron_12.html I don't know that I'll keep it, but I'll certainly put a better bracelet on it, clean it up a little, and re-list it. (Hopefully, for a few extra $ than I spent!)

Well met sir! I love seeing builds like that come together. Especially ofter a very long parts hunt.

Link: http://www.kuvarsit.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=32090 (Not sure if it's cool to post a link to a NON-TD or not, so please nuke if inappropriate) There are defiantly some inconsistencies between this and the gen. Most of them are on the back around the movement. From a post I made on RWI: The 2-3 things that I found on the movement will likely be fixed with the next version, and I can't imagine anyone figuring it out that quickly...even if they looked at it. Face/Hands: All I found was the Sec-Hand @9 on the Gen is riveted, while on the Rep, it's pinned. Movement: I tried to illustrate in the pics the differences with the text. Some is uʍop ǝpısdn, others isn't. The ordering is off too. This is EASILY fixable in the next run, of they decide to do such a thing. Reading the dial left-to-right... Gen: "ǝpɐɯ ssıʍs () TWENTY-EIGHT (28) JEWELS CAL. P. 9000" Rep: "0006 ˙d ˙ןɐɔ TWENTY-EIGHT (28) JEWELS ǝpɐɯ ssıʍs"

I've got two FRs that I'm about to ship off to be finished. One is a collection of gear that I acquired from another member. The other is my own. The "kit" that I bought from Edgematic had two "Omega" gears included. One was a chrono gear, the other a canon I think. Both are going on the LWO283 movement that will power this watch after the conversion. Does anyone know the stats of these, so I can buy two more for my other watch, before I send it off?

eBay...and asking questions of people that had things that didn't sell long ago. ;-)

I called an audible, and I'm changing direction on this build. I noticed that there was a 6264 dial that I could pick up...so I grabbed it and switched out for rounded pushers. Here's the new aim for this build. (Now, a 6264)

I have an ultrasonic at the house. Everything in this pic needs a bath! I've seen less cosmoline on guns from the 60s.

I asked for a 3,684,XXX serial number, so use that as your frame of reference. I'll post lots of pics. Easy to do. With any luck, I'll have it all together this weekend.

Well, this is about 1/3 of what I've purchased. I went in with both-feet this time. I'm setting everything up in my 'hobby room' in the basement. It's also a full B&W darkroom, and I've also used it to build custom high-end audio cables as well as putter refinishing and now leather working. ...I've got issues.

It's actually cut vinyl. I've seen the car in person, and think it's bad-ass. The tint on the windows is done too, and there's more white vinyl on the outside of the windows. Pics don't do it justice.

I wouldn't I can't imagine what they'll do better. Other than a few tells on the BACK of the watch, this is about as close as you're going to get. I don't remember I think it was about $425.00? Bright as any other late-vintage PAM rep. I'm sure it could be better...I have no clue. That's not something I spend a lot of time worrying about. I made up another "rugged" strap for it, and wore the watch again yesterday. It's steller.

I'll be sure to post pics...you can count on it.

Here's the movement that is on it's way. Should work perfectly for what I'm building. I ended up making a deal with Phong for a case set, dial, and hands. He's going to ship it tomorrow so I'll have it on Saturday. I'll have the movement tomorrow and should have a gen bracelet by Friday as well. If (I ever) hear from Minh, I'll look at another dial at that point. I'm sure I'll always be able to off-load one of Phong's dials. Here's the watch I'm shooting for...
-
Yep. I'm building a "Newman" this time. I'm back/forth between 3 different dials. All depends on which case I get. (6263 or 6241)

Not really. I'm not exactly "wealthy" but I'm used to spending $5-8K on watches that are worth...well...$5-8K. To spend that same $ on a nearly perfect replica of a $40-90K watch is a LOT of fun. In my circles, it's commonplace to have high-dollar pieces, and they often know what to look for. That makes the 'hunt' all the more fun. I've also learned more in the 3-months I've been playing in "reps" than I did in 5 years of hanging around the Gen forums.

That's a big help actually. Movement: No issue. I have 2 on their way right now, and may have a 726 by the end of the day. I'm set on the MQ dial and hands. The Phong case may be tricky. I've bought a few from him recently, and had to send the last one back twice. It's still not right, but I'm done messing with him over it. If I'm looking at doing 2 watches, it may be interesting to get one of Phongs and one of MQs to side-by-side.
-
Mike: Regardless of what I buy...you're servicing the movement. :-) Someone suggested that MQ has cases I may give that a whirl, and get the dial at the same time. (I do have an email out to Phong though.)
-
Hey gang. Looking for some advice from those that have been here before. Assuming I can get my hands on a decent V72... Case: Ingod or Phong? (Not much of a diff in price) Dial: MQ, ND, or Ingod? (Pricing is all over the place, but is the extra $ for MQ worth it?) Hands? No clue here.

DW Daytonas: How to tell a V72 case from a V7750 case?

I feel like an idiot asking this, but I can't find a link easily (yes...I've looked) What's a "DW" case, and is there a link? -
Rolex 16520 Daytona, Patrizzi project finalized

Yeah, can't wait to finish mine too! The thing that I've found is the hardest to locate, is the Gen 78360 bracelet. There is one on eBay right now, but it's from a seller that I don't completely trust. Other than that, I'll have the same watch in white...without the crystal caseback. Well done! -
Holy Bajolly! Those look outstanding!
