  1. Not really better to buy the pro hunter gen at all, as Rolex will not accept it as a Rolex watch or offer it any kind of warranty, so you might just as well buy the rep, and save yourself the cash difference
  2. The gen Pro-Hunter watches are aftermarket modifications, not Rolex approved...
  3. I'd suggest getting the back off the watch, taking some photos, then posting them so people can advise you about what you definitely have Easy (relatively) way to get the back off a Rolex, is to put on a pair of dishwashing gloves (must be the 'grippy', rather than the 'smooth-feel' kind) and then with thumbs at the top and bottom, keep applying pressure in a counter-clockwise direction until the back starts to loosen, then unscrew. To replace the caseback, just reverse the procedure. Keep applying pressure till the caseback will not turn any further, and it will be sealed
  4. Correction, the dial does not have a date window, but I'm sure the movement being used, will still have a datewheel If it's quiet enough, and you listen carefully, when the hands pass midnight (or noon, depending on how you set the watch) you should be able to hear the muted flik of the datewheel rolling onto the next day
  5. Cheap?? Considering the circumstances, this would be pro bono
  6. Pulling the crown to the first stop is for changing the date-wheel, the second stop is for changing the time. All you need to do to handwind is unscrew the crown till it 'pops' off the tube, then gently wind the crown away from you a few times, then push it back to screw back onto the tube
  7. Five hundred million bucks? That's a lot of dough to play around with, but I know precisely what I'd go for... A VW camper van Yes, that's right, a VeeDub bus I'd then use some 'pocket change' ( ) to seriously modify it I'm talking totally new modern interior, GPS, X Box, sound system, microwave etc. but the fun wouldn't stop there, oh no, I'd then transplant a more powerful engine, something like in a Ford Galaxy, into the rear, and install some 'hood scoops' vertically on the rear side panals (with relevant interior modifications) to act as air intakes to prevent the air-cooled engine from overheating Might have to install a NoS system as well, just to help with overtaking maneuvres I'd top it all off with a custom paint job, and a set of Chip Foose wheels I think that would get me anywhere I'd need to go in a comfortable manner [Edit to add] Something a bit like this (but better )
  8. Here's hoping for a smooth re-build If you'd be open to some floor-plans for your crew to work to, give a shout
  9. I've decided to start suplementing my income from graphics work by doing 'taster sessions' of graphology at mind/body/spirit fairs, hopefully that might bring in some extra pocket money I'm also going to train as a tattoo artist, but I want to specialize in 'Thai/bamboo'-style tattooing
  10. Awesome strap combo What happened to the iPhone?
  11. Turning Japanese today... What with the shorts, a dyed gi as a jacket, the geishin bands and sandles, I wound up going out looking like this dude (without meaning to ) I felt it was time to stop dressing like the drones, and wear what felt comfortable, didn't intend to be going out 'in costume', but oh well, I didn't get too hot, and the gi/jacket (might have to get some more ) did a good job of stopping the wind being too cold
  12. Likewise, but by the same token, I've never been keen on APs either, so I guess I just don't resonate to Genta's design work
  13. That really is wrenching to see Will you rebuild on the same site, or another location? If there's ever anything I can do to help, give a shout
  14. Sixty eight weeks??? What're they going to be doing in that time? Surely it can't be an issue of parts availability, hell, they could make replacement parts and fit them quicker than that :bangin: You know how car dealerships will sometimes issue a 'courtesy car' while yours is in the shop? I hope Patek will operate under a similar principle for that guy's watch
  15. As always, fantastic work amigo
  16. I think (might be wrong) that is just lighting and shadow giving that impression
  17. The 2010 Submariner should have the glidelock clasp, so that is correct I don't know enough to comment on the accuracy of the insert, but I'm sure someone else can comment on that aspect Nice watch
  18. Lead's what stops Clark doing his peeping Tom routine... Got the Special K right here
  19. So sorry to hear, and glad to hear you are well Stay strong, everything will return in time
  20. Taken a few years back at the beach in Aguillas, Spain. To all who say not to get reps wet: This is the place itself: The following year, we went back to Spain for my 30th birthday All the tens on the day, over breakfast coffee (I kept the phone on UK timezone) Time for cerveza lunch On the way to where I got married: Taken the day after, still one of my favorite watch shots Interlude: I miss this one, I really ought to get a replacement... This one was purchased for a planned auction for my best friend/brother's stag night (auction never took place, so I wound up retaining the watch ) Getting ready to fly... In the hotel room before the stag got under way Room with a view: Wifey + Booze = Good times My bro before the ceremony... ... and afterwards with his bride After a while, the GMT started looking like this... ... then like this... Still working on this project (had planned since my own wedding) and this more recent project: and really enjoying wearing this Putting the Tropic-style to the test (by the inlaw's pool )
  21. :thumbsupsmileyanim: No de-lamination issues on that badboy
  22. I did see some pics a while back of a Seiko which had a custom lumed bezel, but I forget who posted them... If you were to use black lume, you'd retain much of the original appearance under normal lighting conditions, but still get the glow in the dark
  23. Good call, bro, I agree, BT should get the Tag position (or Ebel )
  24. Rolex - Freddy333 Omega - Eton Breitling - yodap IWC - FXRAndy Panerai - Donerix Tag - AP - Dani Nardin - You Hublot - Vacheron - Sinn - Tudor - ME :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  25. It looks fantastic, bro I agree with the above comments about baking the hands, and that the watch would also look really nice on a leather strap
