  1. Awesome link What a bunch of tossers I got my real watch on right now Say's the time's 1:22...
  2. If it's keeping perfect time on your wrist, that's all that matters
  3. I hope you have a good time, brother Are you just going on vacation, or visiting relatives? Seasons greetings to you
  4. Travel safe, brother Just take the one watch on your wrist, and you should be fine
  5. If you like it, keep it, if not, why not treat yourself to a new runabout
  6. Absolutely fantastic work
  7. She looks like a wholesome, classy young lady
  8. I thought that the issue was something to do with not being registered in some way, if I'm mistaken, then my sincere apologies. In the UK, people working in schools must be police checked, and I believe that legislation also extends to those such as scout leaders, taxi/bus drivers who operate school runs etc, so I thought that there might be similar legislation in the US which might have been the issue: Not a matter of impropriety or any inappropriate behavior on George's part, but simply a bureaucratic matter of him having not gone through the proper channels with regards registering himself as a tutor. Apologies again for any misunderstanding on my part.
  9. I'm sorry to hear of your troubles and the outcome, but surely you understand the need for people who work with children in any capacity to be vetted and registered? Please do not take that as any kind of insult or slur, as I know your intentions are nothing but honorable, but the fact remains that there are predators in the world, and children must be protected from them as much as possible. Best of luck with any appeal you may decide to launch, and of course, best of luck with your condition. Just remember that they are not having a go at you on a personal level, but a bureacratic one, which, as petty as it may seem at times, exists to protect children.
  10. Fantastic, may the force be with you both
  11. +1 Absolutely so, wear and tear affects all watches, even gens. I have a Swatch chrono knocking about somewhere, where the chrono hands stopped zeroing properly after a while, and there was no mis-handling or rough treatment of the watch. Sometimes, things do just wear out and need fixing, and that's down to the owner, not the supplier to fund (although it's always nice if the supplier can help source parts to make repairs possible).
  12. That charcoal dial is pure class It really makes a difference from the usual dials seen, black, white, sunburst silver etc, and I bet it's a very versatile watch that goes with any wardrobe selections
  13. Wow, that's a fantastic project, kudos to all involved
  14. I've never really spoken much with Hack or Hank, so I'd like to think myself an impartial observer, and would like to offer this suggestion as a possible solution: Hack, when the watch arrives back with you, return it to Hank, as he clearly said "send it" before you could confirm the situation regards extra link. Hank, when the watch arrives back with you, just throw the watch on a strap until you can acquire the extra links, which I'm sure someone in the community will have spare Let's hope this can be resolved like the gentlemen I know you both are
  15. That's easy, bro, the answer is $$s... They know that not only will n00b watch collectors and posers looking for a nice watch always think 'Rolex', but they also know that there are the collectors who will buy every variant of the watch they like, so it's bread and butter money for them And on topic... :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  16. Rolexs weren't designed to be beautiful, they were designed to be functional The ones which they have designed to (try and be) beautiful, ie with all the tacky bling and gems all over them, just look disgusting PS For the record, I don't 'hate' the Nautilus exactly, I just don't like it enough to want to buy one
  17. Hmmmm... Best rep I sold... Probably my EuroFakes Submariner. Turned out it really did have a Swiss movement in it... That would've powered Project Snowflake nicely Favorite rep I sold... My PAM 029a. The only watch which got comments from the laydeez (which made me feel like King Pimp ) and a very nice watch to wear Oh well... Most meaningful rep I sold... My Omega 2534.80 and 45mm Planet Ocean. Far from the best quality watches, but they were purchased with inheritance money, so irreplaceable due to the sentimental value. Replacements would just serve as a reminder of what they were, and that they are gone, rather than actually replacing the watches. On the flipside, I'm happy with what's on my wrist, and the projects in my parts tray, so I'm not too broken up about it
  18. That sounds like a fantastic project, really looking forwards to some photos
  19. That's cool that it's a variety of reasons, rather than just any single reason I'd not realized that the Double Eagle was a Genta design, but now you mention it, the signature style is definitely there
  20. Interesting, is there any reason they don't see wrist time? When I had a larger collection, I very rarely rotated the watch I was wearing, so many simply never saw much wrist time, is this why your Genta-designed watches don't get worn?
  21. Absolutely fantastic gesture, it's times like this that it's clear the kind of awesome folks who frequent these boards Congratulations, T, I hope the day goes smoothly for you and your bride
