  1. Nice watch and deployant. The strap it came with has to go for sure. I have a hard time with my 88 deciding between all black and a honey brown strap. I switch back and forth. Can't make my mind up. The black emphasizes the watch but the honey brown makes an overall more striking combination. One day I may resolve it!! TimeShare
  2. There are a few of the black nylon with an IWC look on ebay. TimeShare
  3. The Trusty QC pics are from my watch which is on its way. It is the "Swiss" eta version and I will post some pics when it arrives. TimeShare

    Ti po

My ti arrived with a crown but no stem. So much for QC. Very disappointing. TimeShare
  5. There is a seller on eBay, time republic, if my memory serves me correctly and he has some nice Big Pilot straps for the IWC deployant and for a tang buckle. I bought a brown alligator strap with matching stitching from him and it is a dead on match for the one that IWC use to put on their newer style Big Pilot. Also, the strap was very well made with a good alligator material. TimeShare
  6. I recently bought a 2007 IWC Cousteau from Torro and while I love the watch I am not a big fan of rubber straps. It has started me thinking of the IWC Slevin on a bracelet that use to be available and has not been made for some time. Is anyone aware of a seller that still has stock? I realize I spelled the name wrong in the post title but cannot revise the title. TimeShare
  7. The rep hornback sure goes on and off easier than any aftermarket from AP bands or Strapluxe. I did something similar. I took the back hornabck and uses black Tandy dye to change the color and black out the white stitching and then put the Tandy finish on the strap. Now the strap look and feels closer to real and on my new AP ROO Rubberclad Rose Gold it looks great. The cost is better than $350 and the rubber strap came off easy and the new hornback went on just as easy no untold hours like the aftermarket straps (a consideration with rose gold plating). 8. The strap is looking a lot better and more accurate now then the initial versions. When I bought it (before QC pics) one side of the strap was medium brown and the other long side was dark brown. TimeShare
  9. I know from my seller that the V6 Factory for the Hublot is closed for 3 - 4 weeks. TimeShare
  10. I ran into the same issue with Trusty. I am sympathetic to what is happening but when customers get frustrated it is the sellers own fault. The sellers should place a notice on their web sites about potential delays and then if someone orders then they are going into the purchase with their eyes open. If not then, the sellers deserve the emails and frustration they receive from the purchasers!! TimeShare
  11. I have the exact same watch and was impressed. However, my experience was not so good as my watch arrived so devoid of any oil/lubricant that it was as dry as Vegas in the summer!! It stopped on and off and then eventually I could not wind it. The Zigmeister did his magic but the dry dirty movement soured what could have been a positive experience. What is fine now and sits on a very nice Honey Brown alligator strap. TimeShare
  12. How about the PAM 237 The Ghost. It is or was considered to be very accurate when the last version came out.......dare I say 1:1! TimeShare
  13. Not sure for all brands but the one I discussed which was a non-panerai, the discount was 15%. TimeShare
  14. So I just got back from the Bahamas. When I walked into the John Bull store in Nassau I was pleased to see a Panerai display at the back of the store. I walked towards the display expecting this wonderful display of Panerai models as I walk passed well stocked Rolex, etc display cases. To my surprise when I arrived in front of the Officine Panerai display, I was greated by the following: a lone PAM 088, a lone PAM 292, a lone PAM 329 on the new bracelet, and 2 straps which appeared to be 22mm in width and around 35 empty slots for other watches. Obviously, the popularity of Panerai continues OR John Bull has discontinued carrying Panerai OR Panerai is managing supply to peek interest (see SS Rolex Daytona). Interesting note, the sales staff for Panerai, Breitling and Tudor knew nothing of the stock they were selling and gave me blank stares or quick "Yes" or "No" answers to my questions. The only question they seemed prepared for was "Is there a discount"? TimeShare
  15. I know BK but alot of work into these watch and greasing gaskets etc but has anyone tried swimming with a BK Noobfactory Ceramic Sub? Results? TimeShare
  16. Thinking of changing a bezel insert on a green Submariner. Is there an easy way to determine if you have a pushe din bezel insert OR a taped on bezel insert without taking the bezel off? TimeShare
  17. I have the Black dial version of this watch and the yellowish lume on the hands and dial markers is much more noticable against the black dial. Note sure why the makers would have had problems with this as the DSSD models successfully have white lume markers that are blue in the dark! Perhaps it is a way of being able to bring forward a NEW and IMPROVED 3rd version.
  18. No comparison. The 39mm version is way to small. I have the white 42mm from Trusty (the recent version) and have the newly release black 42mm Explorer II on its way. The 42mm version is just the right size and does not feel like a puck on my wrist (see DSSD). Also, both versions of the new 42mm have superlume so they are much more visible at night due to the dial size. TimeShare
  19. I have the Ing also. The rep was so good that the OEM carbon style strap fit with no problems. It is unfortunate that it just did not get the attention/buyers that IWC hoped for with the re-release. Would love a rep of the Big Ing as the same quality as the first one but it does not look like it is going to happen as it has been some time. TimeShare
  20. I have the black dialed version of the Monaco LS on the adjustable bracelet. Here are a few observations: the microadjustable bracelet works very well. the watch is VERY thick and heavy - and I have the Flying B chronograph, the T3, etc. I would rank the Monaco LS as the heaviest watch I own and I have 80 plus watches. an OEM strap cannot be used. The OEM uses a 22mm strap and the Monaco LS uses a 24mm strap. the glass has a substantial amount of glare, there is no AR whatsoever. the dial is missing some of the red wording around the outside. It may sound like I don't like the watch but this is not true. Despite its flaws it is a very nice watch and once you have tried the microadjustment feature you will wonder why every watch does not have this wonderful feature. I do not wear the watch that much as it is VERY HEAVY and it feels like a brick on your wrist and I am always conscious of it being on my wrist (unlike Panerai, Roger Dubuis, etc whcih are large watches but not square and as heavy). But I am still glad I own it. Daylights
  21. The first version of this watch with numbers on the bezel that were much larger than the real thing I actually prefer. In answer to the question about the movement, no I have not taken the back off to check the movement. The smooth sweeping of the second hand apepars to be an ETA and Andrew and his people have always been good at making sure I get what I ordered (movement, etc). Daylights
  22. I received today my Rolex White dial Explorer II 42mm from Andrew. Mine is the actual model Andrew posted the QC pictures of at: http://imgur.com/a/Yv1Jm (I knowe this is my watch buy the numbers on the label) OR go to the watch on Andrew's site and the QC pictures are on the bottom. Intitial Impressions: The watch looks and feels like the OEM that I handled at an AD. No sharp edges and sizing the bracelet was easy with the screw links. The white version seems smaller than the Black Dial 42 mm Explorer II that I bought from Andrew a while back (Swiss ETA but small crown and wrong bezel number font). The GMT hand color and the "Explorer II" color of orange are slightly off as was speculated but not too much that it would be noticeable to the untrained eye. I was suprised to see the spring bars slightly bent to fit the bracelet to the case. I have DSSD models with very good spring bars that are straight and snap right in. Normally bent spring bars are the sign of a lower quality replica. I read on a few rep sites that the bracelet end links did not seem fit flush with the case. On mine they are flush and match the case perfectly (despite the bent sping bars on the underside to fit the end links to the case). The blue lume on the dial is very well done and the watch glows a blue color that is very strong. How long it lasts has yet to be checked. from the side profile the crystal is slightly raised over the bezel, again not sure if it is also true of the OEM watch. The brushed case and bracelet is very well done. The only item is the crown on the clasp seems very bright and glossy compared to the brushed bracelet. Not sure if this is true of the OEM. Overall, I am very happy with the watch and the quality. After CNY I will probably buy the Black dial version when it is available. Daylights P.S. I know the post is useless without pictures but as I mentionend at the beginning the QC pictures on Andrews site are of my actual watch.
  23. If your looking for an AP Diver try Andrew at Trusty. TimeShare
  24. A Cartier but not the PVD 100. The Cartier Santos 100 Chronograph XL with the copy 7753 movement (no recessed date wheel) in SS. TimeShare
