  1. I agree... it's possible but so much custom work would need to be done that it's not worth it at all IMO... The asian movement is not the best in the GMT but some are very good... they are cheap at just over $100... I've had some die early and some last several years and still going strong...
  2. I think babelfish translator is causing confusion for you... check your post, you quoted someone talking about kbiz...
  3. Let me make it more clear for you... you were referring to the wrong member by referring to my build and what was included swiss or not... maybe re-read your previous posts to connect the dots...
  4. Wrong member bud... I only use the modified A7750 GMT movements in my GMTs... The watches were built from scratch as you can see in the links in my sig... obviously if I did the sunken DW fix they're not swiss I prefer the rep case method personally with the asian GMT movement...
  5. omg ice water!! That's about as bad as the phone in the toilet trick...
  6. except for all that space above and below the lever... I like the old school EL/Hompo CGs if you can find them... there's actually quite a few of them floating around, separated from their cases due to pre-v projects... they usually have no gaps between the CG and lever and have the correct curvatures up top... They look almost Gen when compared to Gen
  7. Nice watch... if the movement has decorated plates it's for sure a honpo... CBs I've seen swapped, etc. Honpo and EL are from the same source but the serials are a typical tell... as for the pricing, the 029b usually goes for a tad more than the 063... I haven't heard of one being sold on the forums in quite some time... last few I knew about sold for just a hair under $2k... but to get top dollar they need: chief cyclops, EL original hand set, full lume job, 2893/2 honpo decorated mvmnt, original matching CG or Gen CG, Original matching CB, and typically Gen Crown... when completely modded this watch rivals gens side by side... though next to a gen 029 there's only a couple tells
  8. it doesn't look like a 618 which would be the proper movement... I don't know that I'd take that movement over a 616 though the plates swoop up it still looks off IMO...
  9. Dial texture should be smooth and matte... I would recommend an airbrush with a distance much closer than 12" Nice watch nonetheless...
  10. I've seen them listed for a bit more... I've paid $80 for one dial and a tiny bit more for another that I just couldn't find for a long time... just didn't want to gouge anyone when I go to sell them...
  11. ***This isn't a sales thread so don't make me regret posting this please*** I've been hording some Ross dials but a couple of them I over paid for... just wondering what the fair market value is on these guys??
  12. match that with NW's 3 piece vintage case and you would have a great build!
  13. There is no option for that watch... it's smaller than the wholesaleoutlet crystal... cyclops is recessed so can't be removed... only thing you could do would be to reduce the diameter with a very tricky lathe set up with a diamond grinder... massive endeavor. Only shot you have would be if an ultimate 199 or arktos crystal is the same diameter which I highly, highly doubt.
  14. I know the vintage version would sell well... drop the L L and don't lume it... the vintage version needs the puffy lume which Vac and the others can easily do... great dials...
  15. Great review for sure... the bevel/over polish is a definite deal breaker for me though... I've had a great number of Gen crowns from a lot of different series... and that bevel is very noticeable... I love the work that's gone into this but it's a mistake IMO to ruin it at the end as it ends up looking like a rep crown rather than a Gen crown. If offered without polish I could consider using this crown is future builds... again thanks for the review!
  16. yes indeed and you'll start your own personal waiting list of people that pm you offering to buy it "if you ever decide to sell it."
  17. off forum is when people are offering to buy something from you via pm or email and never makes it to the FS section... if you've got the EL thick A series case back and old style fat hand stack with little GMT arrow you've got the desireable combo as long as it's still got the EL case set... the crystal isn't as desireable as the original with Chieftang cyclops as there's more halo affect. There's far fewer 029s than 063s out there...
  18. That's a fantastic build brother nice work! the brushed Ti isn't forgiving like polished SS...
  19. yeah yeah stop rubbing it in how cheap you got yours for... whoever sold it to you was oblivious to it's value... the last fully modded one sold on the forums for around $1800 but they sell off the forums now so you won't see them in the FS section.
  20. The EL dial is night and day difference... the print on all the other versions is crap... nice find!
  21. Here's a couple more versions of Pam DWs to further confuse the project
  22. as for the 2836 it is a problematic movement even in the swiss... many will swear by it... until it craps the bed on them and spends months with the watchsmith only to suffer from multiple mystery ailments. The 2893 swap is more than worth it if you plan on keeping the watch... I can't imagine an 029 or 063 without the 2893-2 movement.
  23. Manuals always have crystals that sit higher with respect to the bezel... it's more of an auto vs. manual thing than a pre-V thing...
