Handled the gen UN RG about 10 min back at a shop @ Shangri-La Plaza in Manila. I am blown away by the finish on the gen....
RobbieG was right....it looks more of Yellow gold than Rose gold. Visually....I couldn't tell any difference other than black screws for strap midlinks. The Rotor on the gen is AMAZING......
The gen weighs a ton...easily more than twice the weight of the rep or even more......feels really really solid. Selling price before discount....USD29K. Man.....I am so bloody tempted to get one right now.......will go back in the evening for another look. Must control myself.....
Too many to post pics....but here are some that I have - Hublot-SS, Ceramic+SS and Ceramic RG, Graham Chronofigher SS and PVD, Chopard MM GTXL ltd. ed., AP ROO SS, UN SS and RG, Concord C1, DSSD, Super Avenger, PP Nautlius - MBK, Grand Carrera (en-route)
The watch seems well constructed and the caseback+rotor is very cool.....now why can't they make something like this for UN Gold?
The blue sub-dial rings spoil the watch for me.
Noticed for the last few days that we have a new home page here.
All good....however, may I suggest that we provide the login form on the home page itself....not a biggie...but it does take an additional click to get to the login page.
Cheers
Not a Pinoy ... but currently in Manila for a couple of days on work
I have seen some decent reps @ Green Hills...you need to pester them to show you the real deal.
Reminds me of a song by Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson...."To all the girls I've loved before"
.....To all the girls I've loved before ...Who travelled in and out my door ...I'm glad they came along ....I dedicate this song ...To all the girls I've loved before
On the evolution front....I definitely find a big difference in my watch tastes now. My first couple of watches were crappy Mont Blanc and a Breguet...and I thought they looked cool. The reason I got them was...I met a Yahoo auctions dealer and saw about 30 watches in all....liked these two as they seemed to be the best. These watches were about 38/39mm size. For a while I stuck to sub 43/44mm watches. These had cost me about $50 each....sold the breguet ...but the MB still ticks
Now...I go more for accuracy and what seems pleasing to the eyes. And the smallest I would wear is a 43mm. I like big chunky watches now....even though my wrist size is average (half of Lani's wrist ). I guess it also depends on how comfortable you feel and whether you can carry it off.
In the recent months...I have got the Concord C1, Super Avenger, DSSD, UN Steel, UN Gold....on order is a Tag Grand Carrera...and buy list is FM Casablanca, SA Blacksteel, AP ROO Gold...etc.
Cheers
Damn....been trying to order one since the last couple of hours.....the transaction keeps getting declined. Josh should hopefully have this sorted out by tomorrow.
