G'day J and welcome to RWG.
Gotta tell you that if you spend a bit of time here it wont be long until that Pam gets no wrist time at all.
Sorry but that's got so many problems the only mystery is that Jay could call it a Panerai at all.
Ken
I caught this thread when you first posted it but went away to collect my thought's, now I'm ready to post it's 3 pages long and all has been said.
So I will just say nice post Lani and leave it at that.
Ken
dluddy you must be my long lost cousin
And we thought you were in the bush being raised by wild dogs.
Ken
PS....Lani your script stinks...lets stick to rape and pillage and cut out the marrying part.
Ok two points
1) These rings were made by a genuine jeweler, they are not connected to the replica trade at all......so the Gorilla glue would also be gen
2) What TJ suggests above would not work as unless you recognized the wearer of the ring you would not be able to use his username.
However my original idea was that we each get our usernames engraved on the flat silver surface below the stone, I don't know if this would make the ring look to busy though...any thought's on this?
Ken
Well here in Oz we will be going off to our NYE party in a couple of hours so I doubt I will be the last to post here for 2008.
But I will be the last to post for the Northern Hemisphere NYE
Ken
Actually guys this raises an interesting point...
We have 50 of these rings and although the jeweler has the molds still ready, I'm sure you can understand when I say there will be no more of these rings produced.
Just not worth the heartache sorry.
Ken
This is my McHappy thread, it's great to see this project finally coming to an end.
I have noticed that it seems very difficult to get a good photo of these ring, most likely due to the black and silver.
BTW..."You want fries with that?"
Ken
Good news my friend...lets have a pic
Personally I would have the RWG feet facing your pinky, this way when you pick up your beer glass the others in the pub will be able to read it.
Ken
Ok Don I am going to assume you ment crown and not case.
You pull the crown out to the very first click, this will be before the day/date setting position, then wind it clockwise.
That said your BB will be an automatic so after the initial first winding, which is never a bad idea, there should be no need for further winding.
Not sure about the chrono's not working when the time is though....
Ken
I'll say it's what he claims, don't forget it is built by the owner so there would be no Rolex papers to go with it.
Therefore 25G being about half the price of the original would be about right.
Bid with confidence...........if you like that type of thing.
Ken
Bump again.
There are many people who have invested their first $25 who have now gone missing in action.
If you have a problem with cash at the moment let us know, at least then we will know you are aware they are ready.
Ken
Depending on what it cost the sub could be worse.
If the Daytona and Breit were roughly $200 ea I am assuming they were 21J Asian movements (non working chrono's) and therefore although they are overpriced they are not obscenely so.......unless of course they were cheap quartz.
The main point you have now is if they will reship you two replacement watches.
It's possible they could be cleaning up their act a little now and actually sending out watches, still I doubt they will ever ship the quality you can find here for the same price.
