  1. Some are indeed very nice watches....worth a whisper in the rep makers ear? Ken
  2. Hi Ricco and welcome to RWG. As to your question... Well many members will talk about content but in reality the main difference is just the URL's, we are all closely interlinked and indeed have an Inter Forum cooperation section hosted on this site. As you noted all three forum's share many of the same members yet after a time you will notice that they all have their own feel, some members wont venture away from their forum as they are comfortable with what they already have, others will travel to all forums to make sure they don't miss any important information that may be posted on another site. In the end it is really a case of what suits you as an individual, you can settle on one but you are more than welcome on all three. Ken
  3. Yes I believe Ziggy nailed it (again ), to me the word you are after is not lonely but exclusive. My friends will often remark how the notice every new watch I wear, but then they are all fully aware of my involvement with the replica forums. If you want the interest factor within your circle you need to open up a bit and let them know of your acquired knowledge in watches, you will then become the go to man whenever there is a question on timepieces. Ken
  4. The other point is that we have 15,000 members if only a few hundred want to pawn their watches we are talking much bigger money than this board has ever held at one time, so.. 1) History shows we wont have a chance of raising the cash 2) How do we decide who gets to use the service and who misses out. 3) Would you be comfortable with say me holding on to 50 members watches at a min of $350ea value? Ken
  5. No good to me as they don't deliver to OZ but for the members in the States here's something nice to puff on during the holidays....and cheap. http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?brand=390 Ken Edit; BTW it is a one day deal, get it today or miss out
  6. Well the first thought is....where does RWG get the money to operate a pawn shop? Ken
  7. At 6'10" (or was it more?) I'm pretty sure he is not afraid to go anywhere. Merry Christmas one and all. Ken
  8. Of course our team would also like to extend warm Christmas wishes to all at RWG 1:1, in fact we decided to hold our Christmas party there.......and nick off before the cleaning up. Ken
  9. Hey more power to the Powers Is snow that cold white stuff? You want to swap a bucket of snow for a bucket of Aussie beach sand Nanuq? Ken
  10. I have many I like, here are a few..... The Holy City Last night I lay a-sleeping There came a dream so fair, I stood in old Jerusalem Beside the temple there. I heard the children singing, And ever as they sang, Me thought the voice of angels From heaven in answer rang. Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Lift up your gates and sing, Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna to your King! And then me thought my dream was changed, The streets no longer rang, Hushed were the glad Hosannas The little children sang. The sun grew dark with mystery, The morn was cold and chill, As the shadow of a cross arose Upon a lonely hill. Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Hark! How the angels sing, Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna to your King! And once again the scene was changed; New earth there seemed to be; I saw the Holy City Beside the tideless sea; The light of God was on its streets, The gates were open wide, And all who would might enter, And no one was denied. No need of moon or stars by night, Or sun to shine by day; It was the new Jerusalem That would not pass away. Jerusalem! Jerusalem! Sing for the night is o'er! Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna for evermore! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mary's Boy Child Mary's boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day. And man will live for evermore because of Christmas Day. Long time ago in Bethlehem so the Holy Bible said Mary's boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day. Hark now hear the angels sing a king was born today And man will live for evermore because of Christmas Day. Mary's boy child Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day. While shepherds watch their flocks by night, they see a bright new shining star, they hear a choir sing a song, the music seemed to come from afar. Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today, And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day. Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted "let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace". Now Joseph and his wife, Mary, came to Bethlehem that night, they found no place to bear her child, not a single room was in sight. And then they found a little nook in a stable all forlorn, and in a manger cold and dark, Mary's little boy was born. Hark, now hear the angels sing, a king was born today, And man will live for evermore, because of Christmas Day. Mary's boy child Jesus Christ, was born on Christmas Day. Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted "let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace". Oh my Lord... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And of course.... Silent Night Silent night, holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon Virgin Mother and Child Holy Infant so tender and mild Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace Silent night, holy night! Shepherds quake at the sight Glories stream from heaven afar Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia! Christ, the Saviour is born Christ, the Saviour is born Silent night, holy night Son of God, love's pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face With the dawn of redeeming grace Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth " I also get quite moved by a good rendition of Handel's Messiah. Ken
  11. Fozzie this is the second watch in two days that the members have warned you away from. If you keep searching in the places you obviously are sooner or later you will get scammed. I think you would be far wiser to stick to the dealers on this board, that way you will at least know you will get what you pay for. Ken
  12. I have to agree with Toady too, however if emuozz wants to sell me his Breguet for $468 then I'll be all over it. Ken
  13. We Aussies wear them on our feet not our bums Ken

    RWG rings

I thought I better bump this (and change the title) as I am getting PM's asking when the rings will be ready. Ken
  17. More likely it's a cheap quartz, $300 usually gets you a watch run by a movement not a battery. Ken
  18. The majority of my watches are chrono's and I have never had a problem, I do however know of all the probs suffered by members so I guess I'm just lucky. Mind you my two beaters have been professionally serviced. Ken
  19. As I am sure you are aware before asking an oft repeated question it always pays to try a search of our board first. So where's the search? The search button is in the top right hand corner of the board, just two steps back from the Upgrade button (in itself a handy little item), click the 'Search' and it will open a text box for you to enter your questions. Now what's not the search? The 'Shoutbox' is not a search engine and the long dialog box you see there is just that, a place to enter dialog when chatting with other members. Entering search questions here will always be lampooned by the members. So simply put we not only want you to use the search we would also like you to search for the 'Search'. Ken

    Egg Nog!

C'mon guys where's your Christmas spirit? Christmas spirit...get it?...rum, brandy, scotch.... Some of you must have your own special egg nog recipes, give Ken
  21. If you are looking in the 50 - 70 price range you are going to get junk regardless if the dealer is good or not. It's been proven time and again that the best dealers are on this site, there is really no need to take a chance on off site dealers. But it will cost you more than 70 bucks I'm afraid. Ken

  23. Actually I got one of those from a dealer once by mistake, the dealer resent the correct watch and told me to keep that one. Well on the way to the bin the phone ran and I was invited to my nephew's 30th Birthday, so I wrapped it up instead. Ken
  24. Welcome to RWG Jenever And don't worry we were all annoying noobs once. In truth the fact is we have a lot of time for new members. Ken
