I am very sorry it has come to this Ziggy but I fully understand your perspective and your right to live your life as you choose, I wish you J and the kids all the best for the future and hope that you don't become a complete stranger to our board. Ken As a sad footnote; There are members on the Geeks right now who on seeing this thread are bowing to their God modder Flav, some will never learn because the choose not too.

Charlotte, North Carolina A lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against, among other things, fire. Within a month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first premium payment on the policy the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires". The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason, that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued and WON! (Stay with me.) Delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company, which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable "fire" and was obligated to pay the claim. Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the cigars lost in the "fires". NOW FOR THE BEST PART... After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON!!! With his own insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine. I have been told this story is true, however I'm sure Puggy will be along soon to refute that. This story is supposed to be the First Place winner in the recent Criminal Lawyers Award Contest. Ken

A thief in Paris planned to steal some paintings from the Louvre. After careful planning, he got past security, stole the paintings, and made it safely to his van. However, he was captured only two blocks away when his van ran out of gas. When asked how he could mastermind such a crime and then make such an obvious error, he replied, 'Monsieur, that is the reason I stole the paintings.' I had no Monet to buy Degas to make the Van Gogh.' See if you have De Gaulle to send this on to someone else. I showed it to you because I figured I had nothing Toulouse . Ken

Well you deserve an extra congratulations for that, when our daughter was born (at the hospital) the midwife asked me if I wanted to deliver her and I'm not proud to admit I balked. Ken

Wow a very big congratulations to you and of course your wife and baby son. I must admit it would have scared the life out of me to be alone with the wife whilst our baby was being born. Ken

I'm wondering too...regulars who don't contribute bucks

Yes Pix I'm afraid you did misunderstand the Admin, the ads that gave us a certain amount of revenue were the dating ads (not liked by many members) but we decided to run with them because of the clicks they were getting, unfortunately those clicks dried up when the novelty wore out. The Google ads have always been a very low source of revenue but some bucks is better than no bucks. Ken -
A stunner without doubt, you have shown once again that you have waaay more patience than I. Ken Off topic....how is it the Admin can just stroll in with a drooling smilie and not add it to our stock! ...............

Ok I tend to think there are a few misconceptions in this thread, first and foremost as Andreww has stated adding informative threads to this forum is as much (if not more) a contribution as any monetary one, it's this information that makes this a quality forum in the first place. Second is the fact that our Admin has on an number of occassions had to go public to request money to keep the board afloat, this is not coercion but an honest heartfelt plea and one that I am sure any of you would recognise carries a certain amount of humiliation for him. Why do we constantly need these funds? Well the old timers from back in the old RWG days will remember how we got bombarded with attempts to close us down, both RWG and TRC had to split their trading forums from their boards and move the lot offshore for a while, what our Admin has done here is to make this the safest replica forum so we can keep the board together and this has come at a cost and a high one. It can be argued that the other boards don't have these safe gaurds and in fact are simply based in the US and this is true, however if the attacks were to happen again we would be the last to fall....if ever. In the perfect world we would have enough supporters that we don't need to be forever trying to rake up dollars and we were getting close to this before a series of Paypal attacks ended with all supporter accounts closed and in the end not enough renewed their accounts when other avenues were set up. The only reason for automatic renewal of supporter accounts is the vast amount of work that gets lumbered on our Admin trying to keep track of them, we have a very many more supporters that are concerned when their account downgrades than we have that are upset about it's automatic renewal. That said our Admin would not think twice about cancelling and refunding a payment from anyone if the felt they didn't want to remain a supporter. At the end of the day everyone needs to look at their own reasons for contributing or not but one thing is for sure and that is the one man that should not have to pay for your pleasure of using this board is the man who gave it to you our Administrator. I think this just about sums it up. Ken

Victoria told me (when I contacted her about the RWG ring (still room for 6 more BTW)) that she had a visiting Aunt from Austria and she was in charge of 'driving Miss Daisy'. She promised to return in full force once her Aunt returns home. Ken
