CC, thank you. I do like the new ride, but funny I just emailed a friend about aftermarket tuning parts so thanks for that link. I will look into it. It is fast a drives great but could be faster:) I hate that they de- tune them so much for the US market. Just advancing the timing and getting more air would add 50hp. The GMT case just arrived back to Matt yesterday from France (RA). Matt took a pic of a gen, and Phong case and my case stacked on top of each other. Neither mine or the phong case are even close to being thin enough or shaped correctly. People told me.......I should have just bought a gen. May still do that. Everything else looks great. Not sure I have many options left at this point.

Restoring the bracelet is a real *****. I have half and the clasp done. Even in the end if I don't do the new build be worth it even for the old head. Why did I polish it???? Stupid.

Never noticed the stone either. FYI the second pen from the right on my first pic is a gen. I knew I would get flamed for the Rolex pens, but they were only $30 a piece and they are heavy and write nice. They were to be a cool novelty gift for mymanmatt because he has helped me so much and he is kinda mr rolex to me.

Ok guys and gals....pens are in. Good quality, nice weight and good to excellent cartridges. MB have MB ?rep? ink in them. They write very nice. My gen MB refill is different size so I couldn't go Franken right away:) Only obvious tell is the smoothness of all the threads on the gen MB versus the reps. Much like the rep watch crowns. Touch of mineral oil fixed it right up. I must say the Rolex pens are nice and heavy and write excellent. I can already tell that tt Rollie will be my everyday beater. Even has a Rolex cartridge and diamond chips on the crown...you know I love two tone. Ultimate 80's pen. The other Rolex pen is a small gift for Matt just because he is a great guy. I could not tell in the pics that the black and tt MB has a purple stone on the keeper. Probably going to the wife. Overall very happy with the products and service and price. MB wanted $100 just to look at my pen and more to fix it. So for what it would have cost to fix 1 I got 4. Ok update: old tt bracelet fits. Popped right on TC case. Sel is not the best but acceptable for a 10+ year old watch. Now need to perform surgery to restore the bracelet back to polished gold and brushed SS. Spent a few minutes on one side and think with some time i can get it back. See first pic. Another question. Is TC case same size as old lug hole case? As in could I drill lug holes in TC case and turn this into older 80-90's model?????? Some pics. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

Hi All, Thanks for the replies and the input. TC is going to fix/replace the movement, so that is great. Excellent service by TC I am evaluating just buying a TC case and case back and building a nice franken 16613 from scratch. When I get some time this weekend I will mess with my old 11613 bracelet/bezel and my TC case to see if anything fits.

Yes, that is one of my fears. And a gen gold bezel assembly is crazy money. Just go buy a gen for what the parts would cost. It will only work if I can use the bracelet and bezel I have so that may be the starting point. Maybe just pack it all up and send it to Matt to evaluate.

db, I have had that happen before with the hands, but did not think to check it this time. Over the last month it ran OK on the wrist but would stop running while on my winder. Once I gave her a shake she would start up. This morning gave her a shake and she would run for a few seconds then nothing. Manually wound her and still nothing. When I get home I will grab the loupe and take a look. Thanks

Good morning all, Like to get some thoughts from some of the members. My TC Sub movement died after just 3 months I am seriously thinking about taking the TC case set and my old 16613 rep and making one franken 16613 out of the two watches. The 16613 is over 10 years old with the solid gold bezel and bracelet and gen crown and a good old Swiss ETA that runs great; however, the case is not very good and crystal is off. I was stupid and polished the bracelet and case a long time ago, but could easily do a brush and polish on the bracelet to bring it back to the original gen look. We think we can fit the bracelet and bezel on the TC case and I have a good source for gen 16613 dial, crystal, and insert. Or do I just put an new Swiss ETA in the TC sub and keep my 16613 beater the way it is????? Couple pics of the old 16613 what do you think am I crazy?
